The last time i updated my skin was on Yochan's 43rd birthday, and a year had passed. I'm glad that his surgery went fine and i hope he's recovering well. Don't neglect your therapy, Yochan, and hope to see you next year in China ^^

random rambling: deeper into johnny jimusho ravine
i have watched most part of NEWS's Never Ending Wonderful Story tour. sometimes, the members were singing and throwing tennis-ball-like balls or autographed papers to the audience with numerous juniors mingling and walking about waving their hands to the audience (which purpose is beyond me since it's NEWS's concert anyway) and there were several selected juniors who accompanied NEWS members and followed them around, carrying the basket (which contained the balls) or the papers for them, sometimes walking hand in hand with their senpais and getting recorded a lot in the DVD as well.
ever since V6 time, i had never ever paid attention to these juniors. apart from their numbers being too ridiculously big for me to try to recognise anyone, i don't see the point since they're unknown people anyway.
...until NEWS concert dvd came and my eyes were stucked, spontaneously glued, on the junior who was accompanying massu during Kirameki no Kanata e. my cuteness-radar popped up and i was like "O.O! CUUUUTEEEE!!!!" and my eyes started to see the faces of the juniors who were accompanying the rest. it doesn't help that later on in the concert tesshi did something cute with his junior and kei-chan did an introduction on the important juniors who were selected to stand side by side NEWS members and follow them around.
but from all those that got introduced, my eyes were still fixed upon this cute little chibi who was accompanying massu at that time. i didn't know his name coz kei-chan did mass introduction, and as the juniors gets more important he started announcing more specific group of people. the last 2 juniors who got announced were able to have a solo limelight for a while, the last one called Nakajima Yuuto, who was accompanying ryo during that song and yamapi during another song, i think.
BUT my cute lil chibi wasn't among the two! he was in the group immediately before the top 2, and i only infer that his name is chinen.
so i googled him, and found that YES! my cute lil chibi is called chinen!! chinen yuuri, 1993 baby (goodness he was 14 during the concert, but he looked like 10-year old O.O) and belonged to Hey! Say! Jump together with that nakajima yuuto.
now, would i start going into, as obachan had said, the younger groups? --> considered younger groups if they debut after Arashi (for obachan) and NEWS (for me)
the answer is: ......... i don't know xD for one, i'm not too interested in nakajima yuuto or anyone else in hey sey jump or hey say 7 or hey say best or whatever names they come up with, other than chinen xD but maybe if i stay in this mode longer, i'll expose myself more to johnny's intoxicatingly dangerous radiation and one day find myself extremely contaminated with the johnny jimusho virus and unable to return to who i used to be...
if that time really come...maybe i can recite you the names of the juniors one by one as we watch V6 or NEWS or KAT-TUN or Arashi DVD and tell you where they're from and yadda-yadda-yadda.... *shudders*
deeper into the topic of johnny's ravine, i've just watched kanjani 8 music station performance. it wasn't their first MS performance that i've watched. many weeks, or months ago, i had caught them on animax (note: it should be during my holiday) and i remembered disctinctly hany mentioning, "eh! itu kayak nishikido ryo!" and upon further scrutinising, "iya!! i'm very sure it's him!! but how can?? he's in kanjani 8?? i thought he's in news??? how come?????" and me, who have seen ryo's photos being shoved under my nose for several times, was also quite convinced that it was the ryo that she likes.
my dear sister is someone who can idolise a person without the urge to find out more about the person, thus the reason why even after months of claiming that she's a "nishikido ryo's fan" she still didn't know that ryo belonged to kanjani8 AND news -"- (in fact, after googling it just now, i found out that ryo was a kanjani8 member FIRST then he was recruited to NewS O.O)
coming back to the topic, the video that i got came from newshfan who, by the tone of her comments, isn't much of a kanjani8 fan. her feelings rubbed off on me somehow and i must say that i wasn't very impressed with the MS performance.
firstly, there was the attempt for a joke from a member that went bad and became really lame. despite that, the members were still being very loud and *please pardon if i have to use this term but really the most correct word to describe how i felt is* kampungan >"< and then there was their outfit which made me wish for NEWS or V6's outlandish-but-sometimes-quite-ugly-and-too-weirdly-so concert costumes instead...
and then there were the members themselves who are perhaps V6's age? or younger? but behaved like they're yuyaan's age? and none of them, except ryo, are good-looking enough to activate my cute-guy radar -_-
and then there was the performance itself which was really creepy and left me cold... a kiss from a member to ryo, a member who kept kissing a junior.....it's cute when it's done in a surprise note, almost sneakily, brief, an instant shock moment that leaves the fan "awwww~"ing. it's not cute when it's done deliberately, uncutely, continuously, like......that! it's creepy!! >"<
no, kanjani 8 is definitely NOT for me.
a point to their favour though, there was one member with great voice! he sounded like tsuyoshi domoto, or better O.O but his actions were so freakishly weird and i don't doubt that i will like him in audio only, NOT video...
i guess when uchi was around, he and ryo were the most good looking guys in the group? even i will admit that many years ago (i mean when yuyaan was still...ordinary-looking xDD) the cutest members in news were yamapi, ryo and uchi O.O while the ones with best voice were yuyaan and kusano. now with the 2 gone (uchi and kusano), i guess it means......more screen time and solo parts for yamapi, yuyaan and ryo =PPP
-"- i just broke my youtube fasting while searching for arigatou ima, a song which was sung by tesshi, massu and moriuchi, the 9th member of NewS who left in 2003. at first i thought arigatou ima was sung by kusano O.O... and later on i thought it was sung by moriuchi... and only NOW that i realise that there were, indeed, 3 voices in the song... they all sounded too similar to each other!! the song itself is very...sad and solemn. something that, i'm sure, will bring out the shine in yuyaan's voice if he sings it now.

today is the last day of the 3-day X Japan Reunion Concert, Night of Creation. no news had reached me (nor did i have the energy to look for them) and fancams are streaming into youtube ever so slowly. the most recent one i've seen is yesterday's Night of Madness fancam.
i thought i'd lose enthusiasm or something (seeing that now my mind is still on the jpop mode) but surprisingly as i watched Forever Love, my eyes just got glued to yochan automatically. he was wearing red shirt and playing piano while toshi was standing in front of him singing.
honestly, watching The Last Live will leave fans in tears, but watching their concert this time will erase those tears away and put a smile on everyone's faces, coz they seemed to be enjoying themselves. yochan smiles a lot, and he interacted a lot with toshi through glances, something that was totally absent from The Last Live (no matter what jonathan might've said)... it's a great conclusion to the 10-year quarrel and i think all the fans are grateful for it =)
if the DVD of the concert really gets released, of course all my money will go for it. but even now, x japan is releasing books after books in online cd shops. i kept receiving emails from cdjapan and hmv japan about x books... i want to buy them, but i still won't waste away so much money before i know when x japan is going to release any audio/video material.
X Japan - Hakai no Yoru ~ Night of Destruction part 1
the link is still up at youtube as i'm writing this, but i'm not sure a few hours later. someone put up like the whole show (i guess) in parts and it's amazing how clear it was... it's like being ripped off DVD or something, definitely not a fancam, i really wonder where this person managed to get hold of these amazing clips...
the concert started with The Last Song, which was the last song they played at The Last Live 10 years and 3 months ago. perfect starter for the reuinion concert despite the title of the song being The Last Song.
who would've known that The Last Song, which had remained very much THE last song of X Japan for 10 years, would not be the actual last song of the band? i used to be proud of the fact that they're about the only band that i knew who wrote a 'last song' wich literally became their last song. some other people sung a 'last song' but release some more other songs later *coughgacktcough*. now i have to start retrain my mind to think otherwise. thank you for I.V.!
it's followed, as of traditional X Japan concert since Dahlia period, with Rusty Nail. GREAT vid of hide during Rusty Nail at The Last Live was displayed. i think Toshi must've had a hard time having to scream and things like that after being absent from doing it for 10 years... take it easy, toshi ^___^
yoshiki's not wearing his neck-guard, i'm so worried about him!!!!!!!! >___< but he also seemed to be enjoying himself =) he smiled, and seemed in very very high spirit, whileas during The Last Live he really didn't smile that much, did he? well, as long as i cans ee him smile, i'm happy =) btw yochan really hadn't changed much for this past 10 years, had he? his face, hair, body built, it's like as though i'm watching a second-day The Last Live concert...
i haven't seen sugizo yet.... so they purposely ripped off hide's guitar part during Rusty Nail and played it jut as they performed live?? sugoii....
there are about 11 parts for the Destruction Night. let's see if i can pace myself well and span it to a week or something. as the assessment looming closer, i need to be strict with what i do to relax and choose the 'correct' type of entertainment that will generate the highest amount of happiness in the shortest amount of time and least amount of risk of addiction and steady flow of supply...

there are also a number of foreign guest guitarists performing. i don't know the people but perhaps some of you might know: PunkScandal, Richard Fortus, Wes Borland. i think the latter one was a guitarist from limp bizkit, wasn't he?
it felt like a really looooooooong time...since i first listened to Ai Nante and got hooked to tesshi's voice and this news craze started. but in truth, it's been only one short month? or slightly more or less... i only realised it yesterday, as i browsed youtube for any new xjapan video that managed to make its way there, and found some videos that are marked 2008 february, and i thought "oh it's very recent! i gotta watch!" and realised that i've watched it already... it's been like only a month since i was super enthusiastic about the development in the yoshiki frontier, and suddenly taken a hiatus just to be crazy in the news frontier -_-;;
time really does fly, doesn't it?
anyway... i think i won't put anymore vids up here lest they just become 'garbage' within hours (since they're very likely to be removed soon anyway). but i'm pretty sure within a couple of weeks, or months, there would be too many of these vids that the admin just give up and let them scatter around youtube *shrugs*
...or, better still, the video of the concert will be released soon =DDD it'll make a great end-of-semester present for me!!
from what i've seen on youtube, it seemed that on the concert on the 28th x japan tried to involve hide as much as possible. there were 5 big screeens put up on top of the stage (i presume) and during each song they would display video of him playing guitar. and somehow, i just started associating each and every song with him! like kurenai for example, "i couldn't look back, you'd gone away from me. i felt my heart ache, i was afraid of following you..." .... somehow everything just fits to be hide tributes!! >_< is there anything wrong with me or do the other fans feel the same way as me?
ooh man... how lucky are those fans who are able to make it for the concert... on Destruction Night itself, my favourites were performed! silent jealousy, which had very very very seldomly played live (!!!) and art of life, which was only performed live ONCE (!!!!!) arrghhhh!!
there were debates (as always -___-) about the role that sugizo plays... well, he's flashy, that's how he is, and so was hide whe he was alive, though perhaps to a lesser degree than sugizo. playing as replacement for hide in an x japan concert watched by fanatical fans will bound to invite criticism and flames. despite that, thank you sugizo for helping in the concert. i don't hate him, and even though i still believe that X Japan is not X Japan without hide, i don't consider him as an outsider, either. if there's anyone who could play guitar as hide's temporary replacement, sugizo is the only logical choice. the one, and only one, who will be most accepted by fans to replace him. temporarily, that is.
btw i've been having dreams these 2 days. pretty rare for me to have dreams on 2 consecutive nights. yesterday's one i couldn't remember what was it, not even a shred of it remained in my mind, but i remembered it as something pleasant. today my dream was a weird mixture of war scene in japan, inspired by the new drama featuring Fujiwara Tatsuya (Death Note's Kira) and Horikita Maki with the ending song of Violet UK's Unnamed Song and a new song which, i think, Yoshiki wrote for the singer of Sen No Kaze Ni Natte (anyone heard that song before? sung by a japanese tenor, and i think that song is great! reminds me of a grass hill filled with dandelions being swayed by the wind) and....feat yamapi in modern day reminiscing about the war O.O
if anyone got lost in that very long sentence, let me summarise it for you: i dreamed of yamapi reminiscing about the war and feeling really really bad about something he had done in the war and in my dream i saw the smile that me and obachan are so crazy about, but with an underlying bitterness and sadness, and i just felt so so so sorry for him that i felt like hugging him and protect him from the world's harm...
hey my maternal instinct kicked off in my dream xD don't ask me how come i could dream such a weird thing...my dreams had NEVER made sense (and i doubt it'll start making sense from now) -_- but as long as i can see pi, i'm much more than happy xD
okay i just broke my youtube fasting when the admin in Yoshiki group in facebook invited us to watch the very first performance of Without You vocalised version in the concert.
as expected, the originally 17-minute long instrumental song was reduced to a mere 3-4 minutes song (of course you don't expect toshi to be singing for 17 minutes, ne? yoshiki drumming for 27 minutes yes, but not toshi singing =P) it was very very nice.... toshi's vocals was as amazing as ever. he's really the greatest singer in the jrock world!!!! (well for me anyway) though the peformance couldn't squeeze a tear from me (coz it's too short, give it a couple more minutes i;d have started crying) i love it! i mean, that was the first song i've watched of the NEW X Japan performance.
...it's like watching a dream... yochan was really sitting there, i was watching his hands playing on the piano keys like i've never seen him play piano before, i was listening to toshi's vocals hitting all the impossibly-high keys perfectly like i've never seen him sung before, i was listening to Without You like i've never known the song before, i was watching the whole of Tokyo Dome fully filled to the brims, the endless sea of fans' heads carpeting the entire space available like i've never seen the fans compacting Tokyo Dome before...

the clip was 10 minutes long in youtube. i really don't know how the clip came about since it's clearly onviously definitely amazingly NOT a fancam. it's more like a rip-off from DVD or something, truly amazing!
the song was followed by a short speech. yochan sat cross-legged on the piano bench and very, very cutely refused to talk to the fans when toshi offered him the mic. oh my goodness i had started fangirling already at that point xDDDD yochan used to say "in x japan, it was usually toshi or hide who interacts with the fans, but now that i'm alone i have to talk to the audience too" during his violet-uk-promo period, and he clearly thought that he wasn't good with it (though the fans wouldn't mind he speaks gibberish for an hour as long as we can hear his voice xDD). now that he can get away without talking again, he's clearly doing that. silly yochan xDDDD *glomps a shaking-head-while-turning-his-face-away yochan* he's TOO CUTE!! xDDDD
they were training the fans for a revolutionary endless-rain-like song, during which performance the fans will sing together with the band. this time the song chosen is I.V.. yochan kept playing the chord for the chorus slowly on the piano while toshi sang the words and taught the fans to sing and they repeated it for several times. IF (it's a big if but..) I.V. is performed with a ballad-ending like endless rain, it will become a new endless-rain kind of song, the fans will repeatedly repeat the chorus until either yoshiki gets tired, i mean yoshiki ends the song, or toshi sang the ending. or, as was during The Last Live, they ended it unfinished.
i'm going to break my youtube fasting solely for X Japan's purposes, yes. coz i know that this kind of clips, while they may find their way to youtube, i don't know when it will be removed. before that happens i just have to make sure i've caught it!

X Japan Reunion Concert Day 1 : Destruction Night
for those who know me well enough, they should be alarmed that i seemed to have forgotten about this all-important night which i've been talking about with great enthusiasm.......prior to me knowing NewS. truthfully, i didn't forget. in fact just yesterday i was sms-ing with zechs about it. i told him that i'm 'fasting' from crunchyroll and youtube until my assessment and he promised to give me an update if there's anything worthy to be mentioned.

i am feeling a bit ashamed that i failed to show more enthusiasm about this night which i didn't think would happen when i started knowing X Japan. but, well, honestly my mood is as unpredictable as the stock exchange market, i don't know when i'll start craving for a particular music but when it happens i just can't pull myself away from it. and i haven't been in jpop mood for such a looong looong looooooong time that i don't know even when this NewS craze will fade...
...but in the meantime, nat, i know you hate me, and i know i hate you, but can we please stop poisoning each other for the time being??!!?!!? it's like, i never meant to be a pi fan, ok. when i was researching NewS i was totally focused on yuyaan... it was YOU who pulled me to pi's net!! take responsibility!!! find me that gakkou e ikkou feat yamapi!!! *shakes obachan* i wanna watch pi at gakkou e ikkouuuuuuu

i know this sounds really silly, but i think newshfan had just became my cyberspace idol, and i don't even know for sure if she's a she or he's a he. all along i've been assuming that she's a she, and all that i know is that the tremendous amount of dedication she had put inside her translation work is enough to earn her an idol status, for me at least xD and she had just updated her site with a NEW translation! if there's any chance that i can meet her, i'd get her some drinks xD though that would;dn't worth much if compared to the joy and happiness that she had given me through her subbing work.

it was a coincidence that i put this song up while i was in the musing mood. perhaps it's also because i put it up that i started going into the musing mood again... it's one of my fave NewS's song, a song that, like Hoshi wo Mezashite, gives off a similar aura as Over, song that gives strength and courage from the melody (since i didn't know the lyrics)
...until i watched the subbed Never Ending Wonderful Story. for a super quick info, NewS was originally 8 members, and 2 were arrested for underage drinking, and they were on hiatus for about 8 months. so this tour was to start afresh, as 6-membered NewS, and to thank the fans for loyally waited for them.
newshfan subbed everything, bless her, including the lyrics of the songs! the performance of Dreams was THE most touching song, of the entire DVD, surprisingly more touching than Hoshi wo Mezashite, coz while singing this song kei-chan started crying, and made shige cried while singing too, and massu's face was very red and his eyes glistening, and tesshi broke his composure and instead of singing he said, "minna, matta kureta arigatou!!" or something, that basically means, "everyone, thank you for having waited for us!!"
it was only until that time that i realised that the meaning of the song was so relevant to my previous entry. especially the chorus:

with just a barely 4 more weeks to go, the question that had arisen many many months ago, but with some difficulty had managed to be settled down and decided, had appeared again with more probings from my dad through the phone (as always): should i stop at diploma even though i know it well that with another year i'd get a degree?
in december i was still not decided, and upon talking with my parents i made up my mind to finish until degree. but now, my dad is opening the possibility of me studying something else faster than i expected. in fact i think if i say i'll finish this diploma and study something (along the line of business, i'm considering accounting) he'll agree.
oh man, what a life an idol has... just the other day i was talking to merr about life as an idol (prior to my talking about people who can chase their dreams unperturbed by the restrictions in life) and how their life is pitiful if compared to us and such things... that time i had just read some magazine translations of tesshi and his lamentation thatafter 3 months in uni he still doesn't have a friend. then i was pondering about the real life of an idol. they're truly remarkale people, idols. and after watching this segment, my admiration to pi grew. a lot.
there was a list of his schedule for a day and, goodness me, it's more packed than a pack of sardine >_< and he couldn't smile for a photoshoot. true, about majority of his shots are done in a bad-mood atmosphere, that cool serious look... i thought he just acted cool, but truthfully he can't produce any other expressions... i guess it just shows how much happiness he has inside of him that he can summon in an instant to produce a laugh (read: negligible) and he was quite troubled by it.
but after all that, pi has a set of principles that he abides by. he's a very filial son, he tries hard to stay humble and he knew that the time when he gets arrogant and full of himself, he'd failed as a person. he also believed that a person who works hard is a true man. some people say "don't need to work so hard" (doesn't it sound familiar here in singapore?) but he still wanted to keep on working hard. and despite his super-idol status, he still insisted of getting the degree. this is a man (also applies to kei-chan who had graduated and shige and tesshi who are still in uni now) who have secured a work, fame and status (3 of the popular things people chase throughout their lifes), but still chasing after a secured academic achievement. i think they're remarkable, don't you think?
and here i am, with no work, or possible work offer even, and already thinking things like "dou ka na... should i change major? i want to study something else i don't feel like studying this already... life as a fashion designer is no life, man... should i stop after diploma and study something else..."

pi had been working a double life for half of his life (as a student and singer/actor/entertainer/model/idol) and still he doesn't lose his sight, still he wants to work hard (keyword: WANTS TO) eventhough others might say you don't need to work so hard.

here we go again, returning to that topic. just as tony had recently said in his blog, i'm single but not NOT looking. i mean, how do you define looking and not looking?? it can't be that you're like "oh, now i'm looking..." THEN you start looking, ne? it also couldn't be that "oh i'm not looking" and suddenly when you found someone, you said "oh but i'm not looking, so that's it" deshou?? >_>
perhaps the more correct way to use the easier phrase of not looking is by saying that i'm taking my time to look, and i'm not in a hurry. after all, who can guess when you'd find your special someone, ne?
also, i'm in the envious-of-people-who-can-reach-for-the-star mood again, i guess. was having conversation with merr around the topic of how i admire those people who are not bound by restrictions, that we're all burdened with ever since we were born and stepped into the society, who don't give a friggin care about those restrictions and just dare to take that ONE little step towards the star, and have the perseverence to keep on stepping on that path until finally they reach fame and greatness...
we could all have taken our ONE little step already. but whether or not that one step leads us in the right direction, only perseverence and time will show, ne? i'm finding it hard to keep on walking, especially since the path doesn't interest me so much any longer, and the pastures at the faraway hills seemed greener and more interesting. i wouldn't know if the seemingly-greener pastures will end up to be as boring as this path i'm walking until i actually step on it, but the tempation to just stray away and go there and see for myself is so great...
...and yet if i walk over there, who knows about the future of the path i'm leaving behind?

just got Cure april08 issue. joyce called me on sat (or was it sun?) to tell me that versailles is on the cover and that there were only 4 issues left in kino. i asked her to help me buy immediately. the last time versailles was on Cure cover (nov last year i think) it was run out before i had the chance to buy it. well in the end i managed to get my hands on it, through http://visualshoxx.blogspot.com/, but that's another story. at any case i don't want to experience that again.
versailles article was available in english too, much to my surprise =DD they didn't change costume, but kamijo cut his hair (!!!), yuki appeared with his new 'royal milk tea' shade of hair and somehow hizaki looked different (different hairdo?). for the first time i can see the details and structure of teru's gorgeous outfit, and nothing new with jasmine-you =P
they delivered some good news, versailles. apart from a supposedly coming full album (BANZAI!!!), they also will be heading in a new direction, and new costume! ^^ i will be waiting for this! come on, modern day malice mizer xD
flipping through the rest of the magazine, i must say that the visual kei scene is getting really boring -_- and this coming from a visual kei fan. it's either: a) a great look, but had been repeated waaaay too many times before i'm surprised that the fan can distinguish who from who, or, b) a different look, but weird and not seldom ugly -_-
just as lionel said: "there's nothing much a lolita person can do in terms of outfit, they've basicaly run out of ideas to come up with new things", so do i say is happening in the visual kei scene: they've basically ran out of idea of doing a 'visual shock'. the term "visual shock" could still be applied during X and Luna Sea's period, and came Diru, they brought the darker side of visual shock, which, until now, has undergone little change. repeated look, repeated make up and hairdo (ESPECIALLY hairdo!!), repeated image of band members, too, in fact!! come on, people, kyo-look-alike vocalists are so passe!! xO and so are princess characters in a band of other normal, i mean common-looking-people-in-the-visual-kei-scene, is so passe too. i'm sorry hizaki, if it's not for your amazing skill i wouldn't look twice in your direction anymore.
we need a NEW X Japan, a new band which can make another JRock Revolution, and this time a real revolution in the visual kei scene! after this latest CURE issue, i don't think i'll buy another one, save for x japan's articles. the contents are basically much the same anyway. i keep seeing the same band, i mean look, from front to back.
it's sad...
if even their music is starting to sound the same, i don't know what i will do...
on another hand, Johnny Jimusho (Johnny's Entertainment) fans, if you wanna catch pretty boys, do try to cast your net in the JRock arena. true, i said the look is repeated, nevertheless there are a huge number of bishounens in the scene. and, since they're visually and cosmetically enhanced, they're much much much more droolsome than johnny's boys, who look pale and plain in comparison. well, some of them. xD

Ya-Ya-Yah Onigokko Returns
it's a hide-and-seek game whereby there are 6 people who hide and 6 onis who chase after the people. oni means monster, in this case they're people wearing white mask and black clothings and hunt down the members who were hiding. the version that i watch has 3 NewS members (kei, massu and tesshi) and 3 other johnny's jr whom i don't really know but whose faces seemed familiar (screw shounen club xD) called yabu, taiyou and hikaru. ....could it be they're from ya-ya-yah, as the title of the show suggests? *shrugs* i duno ya-ya-yah.... but i think yabu is cute =D
the location of the game is at toyo gakuen university. it's a huge campus and they can hide at whichever part of the campus that they want. of course the oni will be coming and hunting them dow. seeing the oni's looks, the uni's haunting atmosphere (not because it's eerie, but more because of the huge space but there are nobody there) and the knowledge that they're being hunted down, i'm not surprised that they boys seemed really nervous.
... well some of them anyway ^^ an exceptional case for massu, who is my favourite in the game, coz he seemed really enjoying himself. he was out in the campus ground, and he was the first person to be physically chased by the oni, but he was laughing and sounded really delighted as he ran and actually outran the oni O.O!! well, more like the oni couldn't keep up with his stamina and stopped chasing after him after some time xD banzai massu! while the others were inside the building feeling scared, nervousm breathing hard and walk cautiously, he was in open air, walking about with a smile on his face while searching for possible onis, as though confident that his prized running ability will keep him from harm. well, it's true =D
tesshi's performance was...*sigh* shame on you, tesshi, for being a more scaredy-cat than the juniors x0 kei-chan was very very nervous too, but i do admire his ability to keep off the onis. as expected of the recognised-cleverest person in NewS xD

i've always liked kei-chan outside concerts and stages coz he's not too good a singer but otherwise a fine guy with interesting qualities ^^ there are a couple of funny things in this show like:
1. kei & pi's photo -> oh my goodness pi with his hugeee sunglasses and fringe that's tied up (first time i see pi without his bangs!!) looked strangely....like a STRANGER! O.O until now i still half believed that it's pi... if kei suddenly come up and say that "sorry it's another person actually" i'd believe him o.o
2. pi had talked (during shounen club premium) about how on the first few days of his uni days people would congregate around him and stare at him until he almost lost his temper? apparently kei-chan was among them! LOL XDDD horrible kei-chan!
3. kei made a footsal team that's made up only 4 people (footsal team needs 5 people) and their 4-year long activities is the stay-late-night meetings xDD LOL!
4. conversation: Kei (K): if yamapi joined (the footsal) we ay be more famous. Host (H): are you popular? K: maybe it's strange, but i'm not famous at all H: no way! maybe you're too reserved... K: there was once this survey about who would university girls want to marry from, and meiji uni guys came in first. when they were asked the reason, they said: because Yamapi is there
LOL! that made me laugh!! xDDDD aww kei-chan so cute xD if you ask me the question, i think i'll have a really hard time between choosing pi and kei-chan as husband material. on one hand pi is very princely, knight-in-the-shining-armour kind of guy, perfect fairy-tale husband material, desu ne? on other hand, kei-chan is smart and he seemed like a very thoughtful person, down to earth, adaptable and...normal (read: less intimidating idol aura), he'd make a great modern-day, non-fairy-tale husband material =DD hmmmm, which to choose? xD
i've been wanting to have a 'normal layout' layout like most of other bloggers, one that doesn't need buttons and everything is lumped on one page with the extra bits of information at the side and ONE nice long scroller at the side...
but that also means: (1) reducing the size of my chatterbox to, well, really a small box, (2) cramping the side sections with my crappy CD/DVD wishlist, past skins and links and yadda yaddayadda, (3) i can't have pretty pretty buttons to decorate the layout anymore, (4) i have to start building from scractch again and though it should be simpler than the current one, i don't have the basic template upon which i can edit, and (5) i have to keep this layout template somewhere SAFE so that i can refer back to it if i want to revert back to it.
and yet it also means that: (1) i don't have to scratch my head bloody everytime i do a new skin with the adjustments and measurement trials to see if it doesn't have scrollbox at the weirdest place (notice my page-counter up there now -_- too lazy to fix that up...), (2) i can change my skins in shorter rotations (instead of my current pace of 3-layouts-per-year-or-less) since it should be simpler to change the header picture and things, right?
but anyway, it's week 12! i have barely 3 weeks left to finish up 2 toiles, 1 real outfit, 8 technical drawings, 8 illustrations and the whole A3 portfolio arrangement (which includes page&borders layout and design, moodboard, colour board, and whatever a dozen other things). this latter one is the hardest for me and i have absolutely no clue, at this moment, of how i should go about doing mine xO on top of that, my 8 designs haven't been completely confirmed yet. nic seemed to really love to make me "develop some more" designs from my hundreds of proposal sketches... *scratches head*
if i'm fortunate enough, i will finish a toile today and tomorrow start on another one, and tomorrow night propose a moodboard so that tuesday i can ask for opinions for it, and tuesday i can continue with my 2nd toile, and hopefully by this weekend i can start on my real garment, which will leave me a whole week for my real outfit and a whole week for the bloody portfolio which will really make me vomit blood...
i've been doing 4 technical drawings for the whole day yesterday. 4 measly technical drawing!! albeit i've had a tremendous amount of time on facebook hunting easter eggs, and going about the net searching for NewS material (there's a yamapi english fansite with a great archives of magazines articles! seemed ike 12 months a year yamapi is always inside these 10-or-more magazines...O.O) if hany's here, she'd be yelling "you're not doing your work!!!"
... or not. heh, she can't very well yell at me now since i'm researching NewS, which also includes her Nishikido Ryo xD
gotta go to school and start on my toile. blog again tonight. jyaa~
NewS's newest single, Taiyou no Namida, contained 4 songs: Taiyou no Namida, Lady Spider, Ustukushi Sugi te Beautiful Eyes, and Bambina. the latter one is only included in the limited edition. pi said that the song, Taiyou no Namida, is a much more mature song than the previous single, which was weeek. i have to agree, while weeek sounded very catchy, taiyou no namida sounded much more solemn and sombre.
yet, it wasn't my favourite song form the single. my favourite song, i can be pretty sure of, is Bambina. it has good reviews on the net before i even listened to it, and from what i can see it's more popular than taiyou no namida itself.
but when i was in the middle of listening to it for the first time, i found myself asking, "... should i feel honoured, or insulted?"
the reason being: tesshi's voice was heard throughout the song, but not as a solo singer. instead he was at the background singing "... uh-uh yeah yeah~ oooh~~..." kind of thing, THROUGHOUT the song... but i didn't hear him singing a particular short solo...! >_<"" they ask him to sing that kind of part and they didn't even give him a short part to sing on his own?????!!
...tto omoimashita. until we reach the bridge part, and i let a silly "ooo...." when i heard him singing xD my my...unfounded accusations, eh? =p
having said that, i believe that that kind of part isn't always easy, and the fact that he was given the task should mean that the management really does think that his voice is worth it, right? so why don't you give him a solo, dammit! even ryo already has solo in pacific! <_< not to mention Pi's solos outside his solo work -_-;;;
...could it be that they're taking into consideration the amount of time the members had spent in johnny's before giving him a solo part...? or his popularity perhaps? not so much as quality of voice, i fear...
everyday i learn new things about pi -_- saking kebanyakan nonton extras and snippets from youtube but haven't watched any of his dramas... like for example, i knew pi has a song Daite Senorita, but i didn't know that it's the theme song for...what's that again? kurosagi? until obachan told me. then, when watching News Abake, i watched kei giving a gesture "Hallelujah chance!!" which made the audience screamed (or squealed, more like), and later on pi did the same gesture but with softer ending and with a cutely tilted head "Hallelujah Chance~~" that made the audience screamed and squealed even harder than when kei did. and just today i learned from ong that it was the gesture from proposal daisakusen... (we even did the gesture for a photo xDD)
perhaps nobody but me actually watched all the extras and fanvids and whatnots first before watching the main thing: the drama... *sigh* i wanted to ... but i don't dare -_-;;; like today when i learned that ong had just watched proposal daisakusen, i was like "hieeeee i wanna watch tooooooo!!! i wanna watch pi!!!" "then watch la," she said, but i don't dare..... not until after assessment...... *sobs*
assessment, so near, and yet so far.... >_< my nightmare is just gonna begin real soon...

back to NewS mood! ^^ anyone wanna get me a super-early birthday present, get me anything of letters "Y" AND "T" --> 2 alphabets which symbolises my current idols --> Tegoshi Yuya and Yamashita Tomohisa. it's so cute that they have the same initial, only different arrangement ^^ Y also stands for Yoshiki too btw =D and T for Toshi o.O my my... i do have some kind of fate with the letters Y and T....
has anyone noticed that in facebook tesshi is described as 'musician' while pi is 'actor'? o.o in indignation for both parties (while closing one eye to the lenient use of the word 'musician'), tesshi had acted in several dramas and movies too, and pi's among the better singer in NewS. why can't they be described as both? v.v
anyone knows who sing Arigatou Ima in NewS's NewS NIPPON album? i don't recognise the voice >_< it's either that someone has changed his voice so much within a couple of years or it was kusano or uchi who are under probation, whose voices i still haven't learned. not bad, to be able to secure a solo at such an early stage...while yuyaan is still not granted a solo -_-
NewS's MANAGER!!! please let tesshi sings solo!!! Moi Koi Nante Shinai is such a beautiful song!! the only version i've heard of yuyaan singing this live was so bad >_< but i still listen to it anyway, coz it's very nice...
dollar is down at the moment, eh? me and dira was contemplating to buy some CD online... i'm thinking of getting NewS DVD limited edition, but i haven't checked if the local HMV carries it or not... though, there are a number of things i can get online, like Happy Feet Japanese version (yuyaan's filling the voice is Mumble!! i MUST watch it!!) or X Japan memorial album, or X-ism book, or X Japan Return... no, i don't think i'd want to get any X Japan material yet. i'll be waiting for their newest album to be released, or whatever CD that will contain Without You vocalised version and I.V., THEN i get other things. the X Japan Aoi Yoru Shiroi Yoru Complete Box was so expensive, and i still think The Last Live was their best performance v_v
hey man, i've stopped youtubing and crunchyrolling for about 2-3 days! banzai!! yaay!! three cheers for hana!!! but instead of that, i've run to books as my source of entertainment...and it's not much better either -_- just yesterday i went home at 10, slumped against my wardrobe and started reading sherlock holmes til 12.30... not that the story is very much engaging, i was just too tired to get up and do everything else >_<... this is bad... furthermore my entertainment resources on the computer is a lot more than books...i'll be running out of books to be read soon, what with my library membership expired *sigh*

except for Code, which was solo by Ryo, and i don't know how on earth i could've listened to it until 5 times when i remembered kept pressing "next song" most of the time it played, these are my favourite NewS and Tegomass songs so far =)
highest playcount is Hoshi Wo Mezashite, which is understanable since it's my fave song after all ^^ however now i'm trying to cut back on my hoshi wo mezashite intake, lest i get bored of it too soon v_v
next in line is Nantoka Narusa which is by Massu, Pi and Kei. i've not had the chance to talk about this song, but since the first time i heard it, i had already liked it alot! it's a highly cute song. some described it as 'toothache-inducing' song as it's very sweet xDD well, maybe it's true? it's totally sweet, with Massu's smiling voice heard most of the time, telling us "whatever happens, happens. don't worry about it" (nantoka naru sa, shinpai wa nai sa~) it' SO cute! and very relaxing too, listening to someone with such sweet voice telling you not to worry, lol...
the music itself reminds me of a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean where the sky is blue and the sea is turqoise... white sand and coconut trees... sea breeze... small bungalows and beach chairs... and there Massu, Pi and Kei were lazying around under the sun with huge sunglasses, sleeping or reading books with some hulla-girls around carrying them enchiladas...
very vivid image huh? xDDD *shrugs* perhaps you might get different view when you hear the song, try it out ^^
most remarkable is actually Daite Senorita, which was only in my iPod for 2 days and already had playcount of 5 o.O well, it was 2 stressful days -_- and usually i'd blast off my hardest JRock songs when i'm stressed. but seeing that i'm totally in jpop mood now (haven't had one for a long time, so the urge this time is bigger xD) i chose Daite Senorita which is closest to any banging and blasting melody that i can get o.o my only worry is that: in the future, when i listened to it again, i'd remember all the stress i felt when i was listening to it >_< it happens, ne?
yesterday lionel finally chose 8 of my designs for the final mini collection. YESH!! so starting from today i can start on production already. here comes, the last 5 weeks of school...
i've been a tegomass fan for about 2 weeks? and i've been yamapi fans for several days? and i've already wasted so much of my sleeping time on youtube >o< this is no good... so yesterday i made it my last day of youtubing lest i really can't stop til assessment time. i got as many vid as i could and now i'll just be crunchyroll visitor. one episode a day is my goal xD hey i managed to spread My Boss My Hero's 10 episodes for a week, ok. that's an achievement for me xD
i began using tesshi as my wallpaper yesterday, i think. but yesterday i was researching pi so much that the song daite senorita stucked in my head o.o and i couldn't concentrate while in class. so i sms-ed obachan, this is what i said:

and she replied me like, "swt! i thought why you sms me only saying Nat! xDD beware na, you're falling"
...i've fallen already lah, dammit!
and so we sms-ed each other, talking about various things (not too far away from yamapi, of course). the weird thing is: for 3 sms-es in a row, she ended it with a song phrase o.O 1st sms she included "minna iru ka(i)?" from Hoshi wo Mezashite, 2nd sms-es she was asking me to watch Kurosagi and quoted Pi's "daite daite daite senorita~", and 3rd sms she was quoting the beautiful lyrics of Over "dekinai koto nante nannimo nai kara, sou jibun wo shinjite ikou" (<-- i couldn't write that without singing the phrase in my head xD)

talked to dira just now. i showed her my new wallpaper (which was tesshi's picture below horikita maki at the previous blog entry ^^) and she was quite surprised coz she thought that tegoshi would look something like yamapi. and i can't remember what i told her, but the gist of the message was that now i'm a full-fledged pi's fan, and she was like *wringing my arms* "kenapa loe jadi suka diaaa???? dia kan ga ganteng2 bangettt" and some more she added "mending matsu jun" xDD and i was telling her, "iyaaa sbenernya ga ganteng2 banget, demoo....." with sparkling eyes like i always have everytime i talked about my idols xDD kayaknya dira udah pasrah..xDD

she told me that apparently she has a friend who's a NewS fan too, and she likes tegoshi too! and i was like *wringing her arm* "waiiiiii!!!!!" xDDD should try getting to know this person! ^^
eniwei, last night i was watching NewS in Hey! Hey! Hey!, the newest version at 25feb08. omg i was laughing and giggling SO hard i was surprised that koko didn't wake up and come over and tell me to shut up (it was 4am in the morning, i think?) apparently NewS members were asked to write something and later on what they wrote (or say? i dun really know) would be discussed during the show itself. this is the excerpt of what i've watched. english sub all credited to Newshfan at http://newshfan.livejournal.com/ for subbing the video i watched in youtube.
so they started with some statement from ryo "members of NewS don't know how to have fun" he said. he claimed so because he was in Kanjani8 and he said during they often ate together, however in NewS, they never ate together, and they were saying like pi always invites ryo to eat together and they would go out and get drunk together, while they really wanted the 6 of them to get drunk together xD and then hamada was like "TEGOSHI!! you shouldn't do that" or something and tesshi was like "hai! hai!" obediently xDD
then it was a statement from koyama saying that "everyone go out to eat and cry" and the both the hosts were like confused, "but you never went out and eat together!" and koyama was like "...ya, well, it's not really appropriate to talk about this right after that topic.." LOL! xDD apparently that 'everyone' was like koyama massu shige and tesshi...? not sure about ryo... they were drunk and then started saying some emotional things and shige started crying and the rest of them started crying too xD pi said that he wasn't there as he was away from tokyo for work and they sent him a movie message with them dancing whatever dance together xDD drunk NewS, i wanna see that! poor thing pi, wanted them to eat together and the time they chose to do that he wasn't able to attend *pats pi*
koyama also stated another thing about "the members of NewS were angry with me for the first time". apparently his dance routine was very different from the rest of them during concert, and even tesshi who was younger than him (by 3 years!) were asking him to "pull your pants together" (saying to work harder in an irritated way, i guess) xD and again Hamada yelled at him, "TEGOSHI!!! don't do that!!!" LOL!! i just love watching tesshi here. he was sitting at the front, genuinely laughing at the jokes while the rest looked rather amused, and looking so sweetly and obediently everytime he was yelled at xD (i noticed that ever since that fated Domoto Kyoudai section whereby tsuyoshi asked him to sit at the front for a period of time, tesshi was always made to sit at the front, including the second time they appeared on domoto kyoudai ^^)
then it was tesshi's turn who stated that he "messed up in front of a daisenpai", obviously referring to a dai senpai in johnnys, ne? i didn't really get it but it seemed that he was asked to do impersonation and he failed miserably. but from the onwards he'd been trying hard to improve his impersonation ^^ then he presented a new impersonation which was the song Mononoke Hime. i duno if anyone watched this but i think it was pretty old... i didn't, and i have the impression that i had wanted to read it ^^ he seemed quite surprised when matsumoto, to the applause of fans, asked him to sing it. well he only got round to sing one word "haritsumeta" before both hosts said "hai okay okay' LOL!!! meanie!! it was good too!!! xDDDDDD tesshi does have golden voice xD they laughed when tesshi thanked them xDDD adorable tesshi ^^
and then......... THE highlight of the night! a shocking statement (and followed by an even more shocking explanation and story) that said "members were shocked by lyrics that tegoshi wrote". the moment ryo affirmed that, tesshi started laughing and covering his face in embarrasment already xD omg i was giggling like mad when i watched it...
the story started when ryo borrowed tesshi's laptop and found a folder named "lyrics i wrote". he opened it up and there's like a load of things! and apparently the lyrics that he wrote was... not to say really like perverted but more like ermm... very naughty?? xD fans who were commenting on the youtube were like bringing up his nickname "ero-prince" (<- a nickname given when he was in ItteQ, as far as i can guess). ryo said, "tegoshi has this sweet face, but i think he grew up too fast" xDD ryo was said to dote a lot on tesshi (the 'tegonyan' pet-name came from him), which was why, i guess, he dared (and tesshi allowed him to?) talk about that....topic....
the unfurling of the lyrics was painful, i tell you... painful! and yet i can't help but had a mixed feeling while watching. a part of me was very amused at his 'naughtiness', embarrassed that something so private was being showed on national tv, amazed that throughout the entire section tesshi actually managed to laugh it off (and very very cutely too) with others, and sorry, truly very sorry, when the last line was read and tesshi was like covering half his face in truly, dead, embarrassment..........
so poor thing..... but yet at the same time, so freakin adorable!!!!!!! xDDDDDDDDDDDDD you gotta love tesshi! he's got guts! clearly it wasn't something to easily show on national tv, the way he kept cringing his face while laughing (but genuinely laughed), half covering his face and clearly looked bloody embarrassed... but the fact that it made it on air means that he actually agreed that the topic is being brought on air, and he even prepared a question at hamada and matsumoto about the lyrics, and when matsumoto suggested something inappropriate he innocently protested "tsukae nai jyanai desuka ne, sore" xDD (i can't use that, can i)
hontou ni, like what tsuyoshi had said about him since the first NewS appearance at Domoto Kyoudai: tegoshi has the calmness of a 28-year-old man (and that was when he was just 15!!)XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD i really saw tesshi's face and expression like i've never seen before, that embarrassed face of his is waaay beyond cute! i really, REALLY admire his attitude!! way to go, tesshi!!!!
btw since i'm trying to stop youtubing, i won't be able to provide the link ^^ i'd very much happy to watch it again WITHOUT the english sub, coz knowing what they're actually saying (read: what tesshi wrote) is so embarrassing, and add his expression, i almost can't stand it xDD
after that they performed their new single: Taiyou no Namida. i like Weeek much better, but this as long as there are new materials where i can hear more of tesshi, massu and pi's voice, i'm happy ^^ during the performance, i've got to confirm a fact that pi's the 2nd best live singer in NewS, right after tesshi. well, perhaps massu can be the 2nd too but i heard him screwing up more than pi o.O surprising, eh? on studio version massu wins over pi hands down though.
oh by the way, after watching this segment, nat, i think i'm gonna modify my statement earlier about pi being the 'ganteng-est' member of NewS ^^ right at this moment, i'd say that tesshi had caught up to him in terms of looks, though perhaps not so much as sexiness and charms, but, yea, pi's no longer the ganteng-est xP tesshi had changed SOOO much since his first domoto kyoudai appearance, ne?!!
i want to watch this week's Music Station at Animax!!!!!!!!!!!!! sobsobsobsobsobs~~~~~~~ i wanna watch tesshi and pi and massu and everyone else on tv not veoh or youtube.... T______________T
no competition, ok ^^ i just found the song which i said i heard him singing high-pitched and it was beautiful. well... perhaps not as well as tesshi's, but it was nice =) this is his solo version. there's another version when he sang it duet with tesshi during a concert, and his high-pitch was even better there. but i prefer to show this, coz there tesshi seemed to be over-singing him xD

prologue:
one day, i was passing by a VCD store in Chinatown whereby they were having sales. being a CD junkie, i went and browsed through the sections that i might be interested in, and found this VCD. it was called "ambulance". what made me pick it up was: there's kame's face at the front! together with some guy whom i don't recognise... well, i think 8 bucks for a complete drama series is not a bad deal, considering that kame is inside, ne? so i got it.
apparently the desire to watch kame wasn't strong enough that the VCD sat on my bookshelves untouched for weeks, months! (year...?) i told obachan about it, and she told me that the series was actually called Nobuta wo Produce, and there's yamapi inside!
"hee... so that other guys is yamapi..." i thought. i brought the VCD back home during the december holiday with the intention to watch it (when i'm bored...) apparently my bored-time was filled with other things, like watching the whole of full metal alchemist til finished... and the VCD survived the new year (both western and lunar calendar) unopened.
... until now! now i'm waiting for hany to come back and bring that VCD back so that i can start watching Nobuta wo Produce! of course, i can watch it at crunchyroll, but since i've already got it, why watch streaming? xD
well, it's been like 2 days since i started watching more and more pi's videos... research pi = research his dramas = stumbling to more and more nobuta wo produce materials = . = so while i've not watched the drama itself, i've already watched most of the extras and snippets of the drama =_= baka desu ne...
but, the more i watched Shuuji to Akira stuff, the more i think that after watching the drama, i'll start researching KAT-TUN... yappari kame is too cute after all xDD
anyway i just want to register my awe and admiration at the fact that Seishun Amigo, which was Nobuta wo Produce theme song, which contained only 3 songs: Seishun Amigo (duet by Shuuji to Akira, aka Kame and Pi), Colourful (Pi solo, Dragonzakura song) and Kizuna (Kame solo, Gokusen II song), which was released in NOVEMBER 2005, actually managed to be the number 1 highest selling single of that year! and stayed on number 3 highest selling single of the next year! within a month they sold over a million copies (1,059,349 copies according to wikipedia) O.O
granted now that he's no longer as chubby-looking as last time, but that great big eyes of his still remains! *_* i must admit that i watch the drama solely for the sake of catching glimpses of him xD
why their hair looked so similar is a mystery to me xD

before that, i just want to say that... my endearment calling for tegoshi yuya changed over time:
at first, when i started 'researching' he was "tegoshi yuya". when i started getting really in love with his voice, i started ditching the yuya, so he was "tegoshi". later on the pitch changed drastically tho, so it was more like *squeal* "tegosshiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!" xDD
when i learned some pet-names that other fans call him, i kept them in mind: "tesshi" and "tegonyan". i think one of them came from ryo... the other members sometimes call him "tesshi" tho =)
when i started watching My Boss My Hero, i call him "yuyaan" in my comments (unpublished anywhere!) i'd love to stick at "yuya" but he's too cute in that drama xDD he's prettier than horikita maki (mizuki in hana kimi)! but let's get to that later!
when i talked to nata on the phone i started calling him "tegonyan" (that was the first time i called him that, nat). duno why, it just snapped into my mouth and i started calling him that o.O sounds cute, isn't it? xD
when i watched more and even more NewS related variety shows (most of them from Shounen Club series) i started calling him "tesshi" (it's youtube. making your own petnames for your idol and using it in public can invite flames as other fans might think you're trying to monopolise and make him your own)
so now i'm randomly regulating those names to call him... since this is not youtube, i don't have qualms about using my pet-name for him: "yuyaan" =DDDDD
anyway, let's start:
1. nat, your references to the songs, Miso Soup and Hoshi Wo Mezashite how come sometimes you pointed a time when there are more than 1 person singing?? gimana gw tau sapa yg nyanyi?? o.O but i looked up the timing that you mentioned (dengan semangatnya lagi) and, thanks to the fact that NewS and Tegomass kept playing in my iPod for 2 days in a row, more or less i'm able to differentiate their voices now (^^)v soo... :
miso soup: 0.38 -> massu 1.23 -> massu 3.10 -> BOTH! O.O immediately before that was yuyaan tho. "singing melody" hee...you mean the lower register or the higher? in Miso Soup chorus yuyaan sings normal pitch, massu sings lower pitch... 1.53 -> yesh it's yuyaan (o^^o) this is Tegomass's song, so if you notice a change of voice it's always either yuyaan or massu. i've got the feeling that you really do like massu's voice better. the sweeter voice is always massu, the voice that smiles ^_^
hoshi wo mezashite, in terms of order of singing: 1st -> pi 2nd -> of course yuyaan duh -_- told you the vibrato voice that can be heard clearly is his ^^ chorus -> i don't know who sounds clearer o.O for me choruses always sound...together xD i may be able to pick up different voices but they seldom sound clearer than others. if i may hazard a really gambling-guess, i think you picked up Pi's voice in the chorus... 3rd/ until 1.25 -> massu 4th/from 1.26 -> ryo 1.36 -> ryo 1st "ikou" -> pi (i think this is the "Ooo" that you mentioned. doesn't sound like "ikou" to me too) 2nd "ikou" -> yuyaan
i must protest! i'll admit that pi's among the better singer in NewS, but to confuse his voice with yuyaan is an insult! i'll deal this with you the next time i see you too... nyoohoohohoho...
see, your ears really picked up a lot of massu's voice nat! hmm hmm............
regarding the song, this is an excerpt from my own personal comment after i watched SC Premium feat YamaPi which was followed by Hoshi Wo Mezashite (subbed):
the performance after that was like an eye-opener... i already LOVE hoshi wo mezashite prior to knowing the meaning of the lyrics (save for the title phrase) but to know the meaning of what they were singing is like re-discovering the song and falling in love with it again... that song was their first single after their hiatus, the song of happy feet, and it was also to thank the fans for waiting, that's what i've heard. but the meaning of the lyrics is so literal it's beautiful! plus, it was yamapi who sang first, describing their 'death', then came the part which made me fall in love with this song in the first place: tesshi's heavenly part, and what he sang was actually SO beautiful too!! (or perhaps it was his voice. or face.) and then came ryo's anguished voice, which actually matched the emotion that was depicted in the lyrics! then massu's sweet voice as bridge, signalling hope....

was doing work in school today with mimi, merry and dira. after dinner i accompanied dira to the korean mini mart to shop for some snacks. then i told her about my recent 'crazyness'. the conversation went roughly like this:

and then she was like saying that after arashi she never really pay attention to johnny's anymore, a comment shared by obachan o.O i guess we're all not into younger guys, huh? xP she was asking "emang di news ada yg suaranya bagus??" "ada! tadinya dd gw suka news, udh lama banget kali, trus gw dgr mereka perform di music station and i was like (huh, suaranya jelek smua)..." "iya iya!" "tapi suaranya tegonyan baguuusss"
and then i let her listen to tegomass. had to choose my song carefully, coz first impression matters A LOT! (especially when it comes to johnny's) so i chose: Sunadokei =DDD my current fave tegomass song! i was still not too familiar with the song tho, so when she asked "yg nanyi pertama ya?" i said "iya" when it was actually massu who sang first O.O!!! rectified my mistake later tho ^^ she agreed that it's good (duno the song or the voice xD)
i told her that yamapi's in news, and she was like "kenapa sih pada suka yamapi??" a comment i heard myself sayin months ago. "dia ga ganteng2 banget kan" and i said "Iya, tapi dir, abis gw 'research' ttg news, skrg dia jadi ganteeeeeenggggg =DDDDDDDDDD" LOL! xD then i was telling her that a friend of mine *cough cough* asked me to watch dragon zakura or something because pi's there, and dira was like "hnnn!! iya itu baguss!!! tapi gara2 ada teppei, bukan yamapi"

either i forgot that obachan had mentioned that teppei is inside or.... she failed to re-inforce that information into my head when she asked me to watch. as much as i'm starting to grow fond of yamapi, the thought of catching a drama just because of his sake is still not that strong... (i know i'm so into tegonyan already, thus my venture into My Boss My Hero drama) ...BUT if i know teppei is inside too, i will definitely, definitely, definitely be super tempted to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOOOOOL.... i've just watched NEWS performing Change the World at Shounen Club, and i can't help but beign very amused. no nat, not V6's change the world. that performance was by ryo, koyama and pi. judging by the members, you'd have guessed that we won't be expecting much from the vocal quality point of view, but apparently it was a huge hit with the fans. not as much as hit as a nose-bleed-inducing explosion perhaps, from the way the content of the comments of the fans...mainly because of 2 things: 1. pi puckering his lips at one point, and 2. pi showing his abs at another point (so hot, i agree)
and another un-spoken reason, i think, is because ryo and pi's inside. they're both like the magnet of NEWS, as far as i'm able to infer ^^
i was reading the comment before watching and i was like, "heh?" but when i watched, i was smiling like an idiot. gee, i guess i've gone through that phase too, with a1 and westlife, but they're both still pretty tame if compared to johnny's standard (especially lately...) ne? it was very amusing, really x) pi's such an attention-hogger. he's not the type who catch attention immediately, like kame perhaps (shush, i'm talking about my point of view, k xP) but little by little people remember him and his charms grew steadily, and last longer than many others.
yea dir, i don't know why people like pi, he's not too handsome...
but he's super charming xDD and once you get under his spell, you'll start to see that he's very handsome! and cool! and sexy! and cute! and hot! and... well, you know what i mean xDD i guess i'm under his spell already... nat! hurry up and hand over pi! you've already said you'll give him to me xDDDDDDDDDD
by the way, about the performance, i think pi's voice is better than the other 2, though he sang so little v_v...

heh...
i'm taking back what i said earlier regarding tegonyan as the owner of the sole vibrato voice in news. apparently there's another one. not so strong, perhaps, or often heard, but it was there.
yamapi's.
O.O i was quite surprised to register this fact o.O massu's voice is very nice, and sweet, but yamapi is just more confident in delivering his vocal and somehow it made his voice sounds much better. and, no, i don't think massu's got vibration in his voice.... do you? earlier on i was also listening to some NEWS songs, and i think it was yamapi's solo coz i only heard his voice, and i was surprised to note that...he can sing well! *better than junichi, imo, oops* =D he's got that attitude in his voice, he can be a rock singer! =D
and speaking about rock singer, i think if massu ditch his sweet-as-honey voice, he can be one too o.O there's this video where tegomass was doing a duet with a senior singer, can't remember his name, and massu's voice just turned dark O.O i was like "...wow, is that you , massu?" and later on someone was mentioning how his speaking voice was actually pretty low if compared to tegonyan, and how tegonyan does harmony with higher pitch and massu with lower pitch. he sure can sing darkly if he wants to, massu ^^
but other than those times, massu is just massu, sweet as honey, pie, sugar and everything else that's sweet =DDD just watch this video and watch in the middle as massu delivered his bridge solo in Hoshi wo Mezashite. that sweet and bright smile, and cute gesture resembling the rising of the star... i LOVE that song, Hoshi wo Mezashite!

i finally found a word to describe Sunadokei: emotional.
it;s not so much in the way it's being sung or in the lyrics (heck i don't even know what the lyrics all about) but it's the melody.... or music? or perhaps i'm just too head-over-heel over yuyaan, i mean tegonyan, that everytime i hear him sing anything mellow i've got this goosebumps?
as much as i like to say that massu is just sooo sweet in terms or look, poise and even voice, and that i will never be able to dislike him, and that sunadokei studio version (the one being sung by the both of them) is a favourite of mine, i can't deny that i liked the song better when sung solo by yuyaan..... that music station performance was.............................
...anyway, watch it!
tegonyan's voice wasn't so steady, yes, he did fail to catch the correct note several times, but he always end the phrases with that beautiful vibrato of his... LOVE that song!!!!!!!!
i'm learning to identify the different voices in NEWS now. of course the easiest to catch is Massu's, coz his is so uniquely sweet, you can hear his smile! the next should be Tegonyan, sometimes his voice can be a bit nasal, but anything that ends with a vibrato is his. in fact, as far as i've listened to, so far, Tegonyan's the sole owner of vibrato voice in NEWS, though sometimes he's not so steady in his tunes (when singing LIVE!) ^^ if you happen to catch a vibrato note in the midst of NEWS song, that should belong to him. deshou ne? *waiting for correction from other NEWS fan*
the next one should be somewhere between ryo and koyama...and tegonyan too... versus yamapi and shige. the members of these 2 groups sometimes have similar voice....i think... i only know that massu's voice is distinctly different from the rest and the rest can be easily mistaken as another. for me la, i'm still learning what =P yamapi and shige both sound like as if they have a cold... ryo is sometimes very nasal and sometimes rough, like in weeek... shige....i really don't know.... and tegonyan sometimes also nasal.....
last time when i was still learning V6 (not physics, V6 xD) the first voices that i identified was that of go and ken. it takes awhile to differentiate their voices, but now i've got the hang of it. (coughbasicallygocansingwhilekencan'tcough). the rest...i think i often mistook it for one another, until i recognise yokun's, i mean inocchi's voice. then i learnt that another good voice in V6, and better than inocchi, is sakamoto's. then i was forced to identify junichi's voice due to a certain someone keep watching Ainanda junichi's solo version over and over again. then, the left unidentified voice i recognised it as nagano's ^^;;;
but whatever it may be, i'm sorry to say this, nat, in terms of overall ability to sing, i think NEWS win over V6. roughly rated, i'll give them CCCCBA, which somehow sounds like a better average than V6's DCCCAA average, get what i mean? btw the As belong to sakamoto, inocchi and tegonyan ^^ *fends off flames from donat*
after i watch whatev drama you asked me to watch, i'm taking over yamapi xD
btw..tegonyan in the drama i watch now is so gay... duno whether to laugh or cry.....
it's been a loooooooo~~~ng time since i felt my heart thumping while listening to a song...... in fact, i can't even remember the last one after Forever Love and the whole of X Japan Ballads Collection album, and that was 6 years ago...... goosebumps, yes, but very seldom my heart got affected by any songs.......
and, geez, what a song to make me felt really......... i don't even know how to describe it.......!! i only know that i was feeling almost choked while listening to it and i could really feel my heart thumping o.O

about: Yochan underwent a surgery to correct his spine, a problem that had persisted since 1995, when he finally started to feel numbness in his fingers. the surgery went fine, thank goodness. hopefully he will recover completely and it doesn't affect his piano playing. as for drums...don't forget your neck braces everytime you drums, yochan!

Featuring: Versailles
Background: formed in 2007 by founding member Kamijo (ex Lareine) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid), they released their debut single Revenant Choir which tells a story about a clan.
Just as like Kamijo's past works, Versailles tells a story through their symphonic metal music and extravagantly elaborate costumes inspired from antique European era.
Members: Kamijo (vocals), Hizaki (guitar), Teru (guitar), Jasmine-You (bass), Yuki (drums)
etc: Versailles beautiful music managed to win my heart totally. saddened by the loss of Jasmine-YOU in 2009, but i hope the 4 of them will still make great music from now onwards. rest in peace, Jasmine-YOU, and watch out for the guys from up there...
