i'm back, with little news to update. my internet connection was disrupted for a few days, but now is back to normal. my computer had been rebooted so now i lost every programme i had, including maple story and divx which are essential tools for my entertainment >.<

5th (or, which number already?) session of past blogging. main theme: the Labour Day Demonstration in Jakarta.
4 May 2006
Mission Impossible III is GOOD!!!! really nice, full action from start til the end. well, there were a couple of minutes of party-scene at Ethan's house which was quite boring, but from there onwards, it was a continuous thrilling adventure.
1st of May was Labour Day. as planned, hundreds of thousands of labourers in Jakarta held rallies in many places, including in front of the President's Office and in Bunderan HI i think. for the whole day, Jakarta was down, countless cars were trapped in countless traffic jams in countless points in Jakarta. very bad for business indeed.
since i was at home the whole day on 1st of may, i was not affected by it. BUT i wasn;t counting on another demostration being held on the 3rd of May. i only knew about it when i watched the news at night. by that time it was impossible for me to postpone further my japanese lesson, and so the next day i went to Tebet for my first lesson. my uncle (tuaku) fetch me there and back again.
BUT, when we were on our way back, we met a very bad traffic jam in Pejompongan. we queued and queued and queued, trying to get reach Jembatan Slipi, for hours, only to find that the road up Jembatan Slipi was BLOCKED. darn! we queued for nothing! and we were very very low on gas too. and i didn;t bring much money on me to buy much gas too. the situation was pretty bad. luckily there was a gas station nearby and my money was enough to fill half of the gas tank.
after fuelling up, we went to seek refuge in some places which road was not having jams. my tuaku wanted to bring us to kelapa gading O.O which was very far, i thought. but as we passed ITC Cempaka Mas, i said let's just stop and eat here. so we did. after hacing lunch, at 3pm (jeez), and walk around the place for awhile, we decided to go back to car and sleep xD
the radio was on for the whole time, coz we need to know the condition of the traffic to go back home. after about 2-3 hours of sleeping and waiting, we set off on our journey back home at 6pm. met a short jam on the freeway juntion airport-grogol, and from there it was pretty much okay.
the first time i get stucked in the middle of the city, unable to go back home due to demonstration, since the 1998 riot. my cousin, who was with us at that time but was back at Belitung during 1998 riot, was not worried. but i, who had experienced the terror of the '98 riot, was very anxious to reach home safely. thank goodness we did.

still in Yoshiki mood. i'm back to be an active member in screamingKIAI. sorry for my long, unannounced absence, Ro, Chiara, Danny, Windy. at least now it's my turn to take care of the forum while some of you are busy with your own things =)
forum is going well. thanks to MySpace account of Yoshiki, we're getting more alive and hopeful these days. though i still doubt that VUK release would be any earlier than next year (10th years anniversary of X disbandment) there's always a chance that Yoshiki made a miracle and finished his recordings, i'm sorry i mean perfected it on time and release it in autumn.
i'm facing the toughest and biggest setback in my live. 2 rejections letter (with that kind of result, would anyone be surprised??) and one offer to take the course which i've been dreaming on taking ever since i was twelve. but now that i have that offer, my sight is set on those courses which are not open for me. why?? why can't i be grateful at what He had given me?
i felt really really down and bad and disappointed and sad twice, each when i got to know that i was rejected by those universities. and each time, i tried asking Him, what should i do? what does He want me to do? what am i supposed to do now? should i go out and start afresh somewhere else? i wanted to leave this shadow of bad-choices which i felt i've been making since year 2. i want to be free of the shadow of success of my brother that has been haunting me since 3 years ago. i want to start making the right choices, for ME! not for the sake of fame, not for the sake of my parents, not for the sake of something called prestige!
when i got rejected for the first time, i felt really bad. and i thought of Yoshiki. what would he do if he's in my shoes? heck, hana, he'd BEEN in your shoes and worse. look at him, still standing tall and proud despite so many bitter setbacks that he had. i imagined myself having Yoshiki's spirit, i imagined myself living in his songs, living in that pure energy and spirit that is Yoshiki. who knows, it helped a lot, and i mean A LOT. my burden was lifted, and i started to see more of the silver lining.
"but the silver lining gradually takes over, when the rain stops, i'll be in the next chapter" (quoted off The Last Song, X Japan)
yes, when the rain stops, i'll definitely be in the next chapter. the right chapter. thank you Yochan... you saved me, helped me once again.
when i have enough spirit in me to stop myself from feeling too sorry for me, i started asking Him questions. what does He want me to do? what should i do? i thought and thought and lept thinking. until i thought, "don't run away from your mistakes. stay and make right of your mistake. live on the ruins of your faults and make it right, that way you can prove your capability" is that Him talking to me? anyway i decided to listen and put off my intention of studying in the states, for the time being anyway.
and just now i got the second rejection notice. again, bad feelings, sadness, disappointment, shame! and i just started thinking of Yochan again. it feels really good to be able to have someone strong to be my source of motivation. it takes just a simple thought of Yoshiki and the way he never gives up, no matter how bad the situation is, and the way he loves music and able to create something so beautiful for us, and i felt better already.
so i started asking Him again, what should i do... it's true that i've abandoned my desire to go out. but with this rejection letter, fresh desire to leave the ruins of my failure appeared. again, i was thinking of fame, of prestige, of studying in a good, respectable school enough for anyone to be envious of. geez, how foolish of me. nope, i heard another voice told me to "stay. He has plans for you. a whole new world had been opened for you, it's just that you have not see, for He had not revealed it yet."
some of you might read those paragraph above with a mixed-reaction, i'm sorry. i'm not too much of a christian fanatic, but i do believe in Him in my own way. if it's not commonly acceptable in some ways, *shrugs* what matter the most is that i got assurance and i feel better about this whole thing, ne.
4th session of past blogging. main theme: bad day >.<
28April2006
today is a bad day. i don't usually label a day as a bad day or not a bad day, but today's events are really quite extra-ordinary, for my mental condition, so i have, unconsciously, labelled it as a bad day.
the bad day began with, you might guess, a bad dream. i was awakened by my alarm clock, which successfully destroyed any remaining memory of what was the dream actually, but i remember that it was a reality-bad dream. reality-bad dream as in not so scary that my sleeping mind knew that it was a dream, and so i continued on dreaming without unconsciously trying to wake myself up. on the other hand it was bad, and the feeling when i woke up was uneasy and restless.
the bad day continued on with an sms from my brother who told me that La Salle is not going to return my portfolio back after it was finished being assessed. now THAT was a huge blow to me. my portfolio is extremely important to me, like extremely extremely extremely important, coz i have included 3 of my most precious sketches of Yoshiki and hide, which i want to keep with me at all cost. i called the person in the international office in my distraught condition and managed to annoy the person who answered the call, but she promised to do anything she can if i email her, which i would certainly do once i get my internet connection back. i begged my brother to go back to the office once his exam is over to beg whoever person in charge to return my portfolio back to me. and i went through the rest of the morning worrying sick about my portfolio.
then it was a long and hot afternoon spent at home watching TV with my cousin and aunt. around mid afternoon i asked my mom if we could go to karaoke and have dinner out, and the rest of the afternoon was spent waiting for my dad to come and fetch us. and when he arrived he looked so tired and worn out that i felt really guilty for not being able to be my own driver. and the rest of the evening was spent with me having this guilty-conscience mind while i sang karaoke with my cousin.
and then it was the karaoke machine's turn to be mean. i found loads of japanese songs, including quite a massive number of Glay's and X Japan's, but when i tried them they wouldn't let me sing! it just disappear and skipped on to the next non-japanese songs!! grrr >.< what's the purpose of listing them down if i can't sing them anyway???
when night came and my parents and aunt came to have dinner with us, my dad, again, looked so haggard-looking and tired, and intensified my guilt-ridden mind throughout dinner and the journey back home.
today is not a good day, definitely, i've had better days. the prospect of losing my portfolio brought the biggest shock and worry and anxiety of all the unhappy incidents happened today.
tomorrow should be a better day than today. 2 days of bad day in a row is not something that i think i can bear. so tomorrow should be a better day.
anyway by the time i'm writing this, i have managed to convince myself to leave everything to Him. if i get my portfolio back, i should thank Him for His graciousness. if not, i'm sure He has another plan for me. there are many great artists in ScreamingKIAI and i am pretty sure that some of them have lost some of their orgininal works too. my work is nothing if compared to the beauty of their works. losing my precious sketches would mean that i should create even more beautiful sketches than those that i have lost. i am sad, definitely, i love those Yoshiki sketches more than any other sketches i own. but if this happened to spur me to make even greater sketches, then i'll just accept it and overcome this setback. anyway if an artist can't overcome setbacks, more over something as simple and small as this, she can not survive, can never improve, and thus can never be successful, ne.
i still wish i can get my portfolio back though. Kamisama, onegai...
Tuesday i'll be starting my Japanese lesson ^.^ yay for hana! after 5 months of procastination and lazying around! and it would be somewhat intensive too. 5 times a week, each time 2 hours ^^ if everything goes according to plan, i would be clocking about 40 hours of Japanese lesson a month ^.^ *happy*
if anyone wonder why i don't start on Monday, well at first i was scheduled to start on Monday. but since monday is Labour Day, and the labourers in Indonesia were planning to hold a massive rally and demonstration throughout Indonesia, demanding for the revision made on RUU 2003 about labourers, my dad was anxious about me going out that day. who knows another May'98 incident may *God forbid* happen again...
and so. the bad day ends. now is 23.27. in 33 minutes the day would end. and tomorrow will come. a better day, hopefully.

Tuesday 16 May 2006
oooh i feel like i've subscribed myself to Yoshiki Mobile. no, i feel like Yoshiki had released a new international Yoshiki Mobile network!! manz, it feels sososososo good to be able to get the latest news of him, and better still: WRITTEN by himself!!
*faints happily*
as i've told Danny in our past emails, i think VUK debut will be next year, 2007, exactly 10 years after X Japan's disbandment. at that time he said that 2005 is as easy to remember as 2007, so he was sure that 2005 would be the year. seems like my guess in nearer to the truth, ne?
at any rate, i'm feeling ecstatic right now, coz Yochan blogged twice in these past 3 days!! on his update yesterday he said that today (16may) he'd have a day-off, his first one in the whole year >.< and the previous entry says that he couldn't sleep and ended up playing 8 hours of piano, bach, chopin, x japan, vuk, and his wrists hurt due to the computer programming, and that he wanted to finish recording fast so that he can play in front of us, fans, instead of alone in his living room, oooohhhhhh...... *hugs Yochan* you're never alone, Yochan!!!! we're always there with you, our hearts are always there with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
right, now ther 3rd session of past blogging. main theme: Hana Yori Dango and ARSENAL's Champions League semifinal victory!! i've decided not to post my updates when i was in the middle of watching Hana Yori Dango, but to skip right to the last episode's review :)
18 april 2006
*Hanayori Dango episode 9*
OHO!! the song for T.O.J 2005 is Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings made into techno!! sugoiii! wow, and there was an excerpt of his Swan Lake scene 2 Finale too O.O
aieee this is much too similar to Miss Congeniality ne... but Rui seemed to be sharing my sentiments about Tsukushi's 1st performance xDDD
uhhh, regarding that 'Tsukasa has became an adult', i'd like to beg your pardon, Matsushima, i mean Tsubaki T___T he is not yet an adult, not the least bit, imo >.<
ahahahahaha, Sakurako DOES resembles Saionji Tsukiko from Yuu Watase's Imadoki a lot.
o,oei oei, Tsukasa! even if Tsukushi DOES win the competition, people WOULD indeed regard it as nepotism after that act of yours!! coz after all, who dares to go against a Domyouji??
ROTFLOL!! 'baka jyanai?' i thought that words came up most frequently from Tsukushi's lips xD aiyayaaa, Tsukasa you shuddup laa! LOLLLLLL those 4 kids will win the first award if ever there is a competition to imitate a Domyouji Tsukasa xDDDD
well well, and i was already making prediction that Ayano would give her title to Tsukushi =p nothing so sweet in real life, eh?
okay, i'll confess up. my feelings towards Tsukasa throughout the whole show was always on the borderline between annoyed (due to the way he talk in such arrogant, and sometimes dumb, manner) and pity (gosh, Matsumoto is good at acting sorrowful and sad, i tell you) but there, at the airport scene, for the first time i thought he's kinda cool =) and for the first time i like that old hag mother of Tsukasa =p
"... arigatou!" *doenggg* i thought what she was gonna say... T__T this is grateful, not love, isn't it, Tsukushi...
and for once Tsukasa looks like a normal man, that relieved look on his face, instead of the usual air, is really touching ^^ it's so sweet ^^
side note: observe Tsukushi's hair and Tsukasa's hair to see which one uses more hairgel/hairspray than the other =P
LOL, the hair is not curly enough, Tsukushi!! must use noodles for best result xD
and so i have finished watching Hanayori Dango ^___^ it's a nice show!! NOW i won't need to confess that i don't know the storyline of Hanayori Dango anymore coz finally i've watched one =D banzaii!!! *the end of Hanayori Dango part of the blog*
so, other than watching the stuff inside my new harddisk, i've been stocking up on new mangas. i found several interesting mangas made by unknown mangaka which has very interesting storyline and artwork. of all those new mangas which i've read, two of them have been made into my all-time favourite list.
firstly, "Kimi wa Girlfriend", which i talked about before, by Maki Minami. very interesting storyline, has huge potential to be made into series, or at least a sequel, and nice artwork. not as gorgeous as Yuu Watase's yet, but when you read it, you'll feel it ^^
secondly, "OTOKOMAE! Beads Club" by Motomi Kyousuke, currently at the very top of my favourite list (sorry, Watase's mangas). even more interesting and unusual storyline, i really, really, REALLY hope the sequel would be made. really nice artwork, though in a rather unusual way, it managed to make me gushed 'cool...' every so often ^^ might still not be in Watase's calibre, but i LOVE it nevertheless!! instead of the normal flowers to fill in the background of the main character, it was crows. and feathers. black feathers, no less. o.O eccentric, no doubt about it. there was not much of romantic scenes, BUT i feel that the story is just so SWEEEEEEEETTT!!! really sweet ^_____________________________^ like the saying goes, 'less is more', ne? i just loveee this manga!!
i counted, there was a total of merely 16 scenes at which there were flowers drawn on it throughout the whole book. can you believe it?? it was hard job, finding these flowers, coz it's very rare! i think in total he must have used, at most, 4 different flower tones. and there was an explanation for this lack of flowers throughout the whole manga. the mangaka said "to give the eccentric feelings, everytime he (Takumi Urabe) shows up, he would always be accompanied by crows. since olden times, in shoujo mangas, everytime the handsome male leading character shows up, the background would always be flowery, right?" ^^;;;; in "Otokomae! Beads Club" story, there were 8 scenes using flower tones, 4 scenes using hand-drawn flowers and 1 scene for explanation for the lack of flowers. in the bonus "Very Black WHite Day" story, there were 3 scenes using tones, including 1 which i couldn't decide whether it was hand-drawn or tones. wonderful manga anyone should read!!
20th April 2006
HURRAY for Arsenal!!! HURRAY for obtaining a victory on the last of Champions League match that would ever be played on Highbury ground!!!
usually when i watch football, somewhere in the middle my mind would drift off to somewhere else, and not seldom did i change the channel to watch something else, even if it was Arsenal's match. and, i hate to admit this, but i couldn't make myself watch the premiership match between Arsenal and ManUtd from beginning til the end T___T BUT last night, 1.30am WIB, i was wide awake, and followed the match thoroughly! i'm so proud of myself ^^
highlight of the match -> squirrel xDDD honestly, there was a squirrel running about Highbury ground when the match was going on. it was always near Lehmann's place and was so cute ^^ it showed up for quite a few times on the screen, even the commentator was talking about it, and once the players had to stop playing for awhile coz the squirrel was there. they resumed playing right after it ran outside the field ^^ hey little squirrel, you could become a legendary squirrel which graced the last Champions League match ever be played on Highbury! xD
then another highlight, about 83min, there was double Dutch substitution. as in, 2 players were changed and the substitute players were both Dutch ^^ van Persie was substituting Ljunberg and Bergkamp was substituting Hleb. both are my fave players ^^ so glad that Bergkamp still got the chance to play, his 40th Champions League match for Arsenal, i heard.
maybe the secret behind this alertness is because i was keeping track of what happened with the notepad in my handphone. i typed down little things which i thought interesting, mostly regarding Arsenal side, of course, and thanks to it i was totally following the match =P
this afternoon i just watched King Kong, the one directed by Peter Jackson. manz... when The Lord of the Rings trilogy was finished and Jackson said he's going to do a King Kong movie, i said i'd watch it. when the shooting had been done and advertisement of the 'coming soon' King Kong was on air, i said i'd definitely gonna watch it. and when it was really being shown on cinemas, i didn't watch it coz i couldn't find anyone who'd watch with me. and, dear me, how i regretted it now.
King Kong was a superb movie! even though the setting was like in the 40-50s and the scenes in the town really looks like olden times, when they reached the island, it just felt very Peter Jackson. or should i say that it feels like another Lord of the Rings movie. the visual effect was awesome. Spielberg, you better watch out if Jackson decided to make a dinosaur movie, your Jurassic Park 4 movie might get a mighty rival!! ^^ i really regretted not watching this movie on cinema T_T if watching it at home, with my very-talkative-and-story-spoiler uncle could make me cry at the last few moments of the movie, i wonder how much tissue packets i'd be wasting if i watched it on cinema o.O
26april 2006
HURRAY for ARSENAL!!!! HURRAY for being able to go on to the final of Champions League!!!
i was determined to watch this Villarreal vs Arsenal match, having watched their previous meeting in Highbury. but around 1 o'clock i was suddenly feeling soooo sleepy. when i told myself 'okay,i give up, let's just watch the recast tomorrow', and woke up to turn off the TV, the match started. and so, i was jolted back to my full alert-ness and watched the entire match! ^.^ boy, how glad i did.
and, man, what a match it was. Arsenal was definitely on their defensive. the ball was being possessed by Villarreal like more than half the time (58% when i checked the statistics at the end of the match) BUT the fortune goddess was definitely favouring the gunners than the yellow submarines. Arsenal's attacking form did not show up, but their defenders were playing amazingly well. Lehmann was the hero of the day, having saved a penalty, which almost made me cried out in triumph (which IF i did, i'd be throttled by my parents who were sleeping soundly). but i thought the people who worked the hardest were the mid-fielders. Hleb and Fabregas were playing really well! well done, Gunners! a new record to grab! 10 match with a cleansheet, no goals admitted, yay!
oh, i have a complain to deliver about that captain of Villarreal, what's his name, alvarez? that dirty cheating scumbag person held on to Henry, who was standing in front of the goal and tripped him during a corner, destroying any chance of Henry being able to touch the ball at all. i hate him *grrr* leave Henry alone, i tell you!!
ooh, i just remembered about the field-crasher. correct me if i'm wrong, but i think he was a Barcelona fan, ran into the ground with a Barca shirt with Henry's name printed on it, and then he hugged Henry before the security people pinned him to the ground and dragged him out. o.O Henry is Arsenal's! not Barca's!
anyway, i was on the edge of my seat *not literally, coz i was actually sitting on my bed* throughout the whole match, even up to the last second of the 93rd minute, coz even a single goal would tarnish the clean record, and would potentially destroy Arsenal's chance to go on to final. with Villarreal attacking hard, i was, indeed, being very worried throughout the match. i kinda pity them, actually, Villarreal. at the end of the match they looked so crestfallen. Franco, who missed more than one chance to score a goal, was crying v.v sorry, guys, you all played really well, honestly. but, there can not be 2 winners, ne.
another HURRAY for Arsenal!!!! xD

okay, 2nd session of past blogging. main theme is: Hana Yori Dango!
14 April 2006
*warning!!! insults and biased opinions ahead. if you happen to like the taiwanese Meteor Garden, DO NOT read. you have been warned! and, if you happen to be a die-hard fans of the japanese F4 and can't take a single insult about them, don't read too. you have been warned!!!*
watching the first dorama episode of Hana Yori Dango right after finished watching Mean Girls, i thought i wouldn't be able to stand the whole episode. i thought i would crack somewhere in the middle and start writing long essays about life in school, meaningless social-competition and bullies, and how the media loves to exploit these situations, brought them up to the big screen and made an interesting and sweet story out of those impossibly-horrible incidents, giving false hope to people who ARE experiencing being bullied in school that their situation would SOMEHOW turn to be better.
but i did not. eventhough i got honestly sick and nauseated at the scene where the student body cheered on the bullies and how they adored the F4 like heroes and looking like a big bunch of idiotic suckers, i survived right through the end of the first episode. yay for me!!
honestly, let's talk about Hana Yori Dango, the story which i got to know a little bit from the taiwanese tv series which were popular some years back. why i said 'a little bit'? because i only catch some bits and pieces of the story. i couldn't bring myself to watch the series completely, it's too disgusting not-my-type of story, especially since i did not really like the actors and actresses playing the characters.
when i started this first episode, i thought that i would like the taiwanese version better... coz, honestly, the taiwanese F4 are better looking than the japanese F4. dislike them as i may, they honestly left better impression on me when i watched the taiwanese Hanayori Dango, or called Meteor Garden.
BUT, there's the big BUT: i watched the taiwanese version with a biased opinion AGAINST them, while i started watching the japanese version with a biased opinion FOR them, and that means everything to me. here's how:
even though the taiwanese F4 left better impression on me, as the series progressed on, i didn't grow to like them more. yet, for the japanese series, even though i hated the 4 of them from the moment they showed up their faces in screen, goodness they're not even good-looking i thought, as the episode progressed, i started liking them more EXCEPT for Domyouji. honestly, they even looked more handsome as i saw more of them. Hanazawa Rui was definitely NOT appetizing, i mean attractive, the first time i saw him. i found the Hua Zhe Lei more pleasant, that sleepyhead Zai-zai. but at the end of the first episode, i've started liking him =) while Hua Zhe Lei still left the impression of a half-asleep-pretty-boy-who-is-not-useful to me T_T
as i said before, the basic feeling, or the basis of the impression for Hanayori Dango, even before i began watching it, was good, so eventhough i hated the first few moments, i could still laugh and feeling triumph when Tsukushi hit that psychotic boy on the face. especially when she said 'you're just a loser who has never earned money on your own'! i let out a huge 'HA!!' on his face xD THAT should hit him right on his blown-out-of-proportion head!!
*gasps* what did you just call Matsumoto Jun??!?!?
he is a deluded egoistical psychotic brat who has too much pride on his tiny head to have some room left for the thing called common sense. ordering a girl to be raped as part of a game just to satisfy his hunger for victory against someone who had gone against him?????? no matter from what angle you see it, no matter how dramatic you wanna make the story to be, that is just completely unacceptable and i do not see what is amusing or good or dramatic about it. it is just simply SICK!! S-I-C-K!!!! and that is how bad Domyouji Tsukasa had left his impression on me. add that to his already annoying un-pleasant face gives out -> hatred.
but maybe it's good, eh? maybe that's how the director wanted us to feel at the beginning of the series. no matter, i'll blog as i progress on the series. i have the feeling that i'll start liking him later on. as i said before, Hanayori Dango has originally been marked 'good' in my mind *shrugs* i'm the queen of all biased-FOR-japan people xP
now, talking about Tsukushi ^^ maybe i have to inform you that i hate that Shancai, or Sanchai, or whatever weed she wanna be called as, in Meteor Garden. and i mean i hate her. i hate her ah-lianish look, i hate her eyes and expression when she's angry or depressed, i just completely dislike her. even with that two ponytail she has on the first episode of Meteor Garden she basically radiated ah-lian rays all around her, to the point that when she's not laughing she look ah-lianish, not just when she's not happy T_T i just can't bring myself to like her, not even a tiny little bit. but Inoue Mao, the one playing Makino Tsukushi, is different. basically she does not look aggressive, she does not have the hostile aura around her, so even when she's angry or feeling hatred, she just looked like a cute little girl feeling annoyed ^^ really, she look so pretty and sweet, i like her a lot ^^
*getting ready to receive flames and hate-messages and hate-tags and hate-emails and whateveryouwantit from Meteor Garden fans who are stubborn enough to read eventhough they have been warned beforehand* whatever...
oh, something else about the series, the music is really nice. it souds very Harry-Potter-ish ^^ nice music!
ah, another thing about Hanayori Dango, i like the character Soujiroh ^^ the scene at the billiard place, he just sounded like a very pleasant fellow with pleasant voice, and pleasant way of talking that can soothe a kid's temper, and calm and rational thinking.
unlike Domyouji that psychotic pretty-boy *bleah*
sorry, just 1st episode, there's no way anyone would have liked Domyouji on the first episode, no way at all. unless you're Matsumoto's fans, of course =p

minna san!! i am finally back after more than a month of absence ^^ there's only one reason why i didn't post any updates: my internet connection was OFF for the whole month. but it had been reinstalled just a few days ago, and i've been preparing for my comeback: NEW LAYOUT! like pierrot says: wa ha ha no ha! xD
actually, i've been constantly blogging during my absence from the internet world. it's just that i was not able to post them up. i think it'd be a bit too much if i post ALL of my updates in one go, so i'll do it in several sessions. my past updates had been dated (pun not intended) so you won't get confused ^^
just a summary of what happened during the past month: i had a new haircut, similar style but bolder and sharper cut than previous one, i started on my japanese lesson, 5 days a week no less, my maid had gone back kampung for a wedding celebration so currently I AM the maid, i had watched M:I 3 and it's very good! i bought a LOT of mangas, the list can be seen in 'chatties' area and reviews are coming up, i watched some stuff in the harddisk that nata and edmond gave me, and half of my updates are about the last 2 topics i mentioned xD
so here goes. be bored and cry!! MUAHAHAHAHA *very very very evil laughter*
oh, by the way, i miss you all very much ^^
and, oh, MELON!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YAA!!! wherever you are, lon v.v couldn't contact you for months, where are youuu, are you even still in Melbourne or nott... ;__;
1st session of past blogging. main topic: anime and mangas! hajime!
30 March 2006
T__T why would people make anime which differs in story from its original manga when the manga story was already wonderful to read...? at first i thought it was only Midori no Hibi, then i watched Black Cat the anime and realised that it was more than just Midori no Hibi. i don't like the starting of Black Cat the anime!!!!!! T____________T the plot of the story started along the original manga plot, BUT with Train STILL inside Chronos. so instead of the happy-go-lucky cheerful-but-careless Train Heartnet the stray black cat and sweeper as Sven's partner, i saw the cool-but-moody cold-blooded and unsmiling Train Heartnet the pet black cat and assassin of Chronos... and it doesn't sit well with me at all!!!!!!!! after watching as far as the 4th episodes, i was shouting exasperatedly "Train wake up you baka!!!!!" T__________________________T
i like the modification that they made with Midori no Hibi the anime, but i don't like it in Black Cat the nime at all... Black Cat the manga is fun-to-read, has light and cheerful atmosphere despite of its serious base plot whereas Black Cat the anime is dark, dark, DARK!!!!!!!!!! VERY DARK!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Train-kun is cold, cold, VERY COLD!!!!!!!!! no fun at all ;________; where is my carefree and silly Train-kun???? return him to meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
and some more, i despise reading about Saya... yet, they devoted the whole episode, and more, on her *sobs* it can't get any darker than this, the storyline of the anime... Train-kun why are you so moody?????????????????????????????????????????????????????? anyway, i just read an exceptionally good manga which is FUN to be read by Maki Minami, it's called Kimi wa Girlfriend. i read the snyposis and it reminds me somewhat of Ouran High Host Club, though without anys similarity between the storyline at all but the existence of a supposedly-feminin bishounen =p the story was about a girl who is sooo sarcastic and cruel in her remarks that she don't have a single friend at all in school. when she was supposed to join a club, nobody wants to take her in, until finally she arrived at a peculiar club called 'the girls' club' or something, which is headed by a BOY who has strange habit of making-over a girl's appearance whom he sees at a distance of closer than 30cm xD
the story twist and turn in unexpected places and offers unusual development. it was such a pity that there's only one volume *sobs* i was crying out for the continuation by the time i finished reading. why, the story definitely has abundant potential to be made into series, it allows for further development!! why Minami decided to finish it after a book is beyond me... v__v
30 March 2006
okay... the 8th episode is nearest to the first chapter of the manga of the lot. but it's like, what the heck are they doing on 7 episodes of Train's HISTORY??? geez.... but at least now i've found my silly and cheerful sweeper, the light and carefree stray cat, the glutton and sleepyheaded Train-kun *happy* ^_____^ and even though i have much to complain about the storyline, i love the music when Train or any of the Chronos numbers or Apostles of the Stars are on the move. it reminds me somewhat of the music from Speed I, you know, exciting! ^____^ ganbarimasu yo Train-kun!!
just a note to mention, episode 10 is a very cool episode with really nice music throughout. maybe they hired Manasama as their music director *kyaaa* and, i hate to say this, but Creed looks much cooler, if not cruel-er, than in the manga. he is even more obsessed about Train than ever, and gosh how he resembles Gackt! xD *oops* don't let any Gackt fans hear that =p and Janus, ano Jenos, is soooooooooo cuteeee wahahahahahaha i still love his weapon a lot!!
5 April 2006
just came back from Belitung for the annual praying ceremony at my paternal grandparents grave. usually it's my uncle who went, but due to the uncommon circumstances that i am here for holiday instead of in singapore, my dad brought me and my mom there instead, the same thing happened when my brother was in his after-A's holiday last year too. the last time i went back was about 6 years ago. i barely remember any places, couldn't even remember my 'kotiu'-'s face, but for a distinctly beautiful white sand beach called tanjung tinggi. we went there on sunday morning and returned on monday morning. though there's enough time for the visit to the grave, it was not long enough to visit all the nice places in belitung, but there aren't many
of them in the first place, ne T_T what a pity...
8 April 2006
i've started watching Yakitate! Japan the anime, it was as fun as the manga version xD okay, maybe sometimes i wished they'd hurry up with their reactions, but there are some points which put the anime on top of the manga in my favourite list. first thing is: the way Azuma talk. it wasn't shown in the translations, i don't suppose they know how to translate it anyway, but azuma has a unique way of talking, he often ended his sentences with 'na' and 'ja' instead of the usual 'ne' =D and it's really cute, the way he talk. like saying 'sou ja' instead of 'sou ne', or 'wakaru(n)ja' instead of 'wakatta' and so on ^^ really cute!
the second thing is: colour! in the manga i couldn't see much colour, but the anime was fully-coloured and it was good to see the colour of those supposedly-amazingly-awesome-out-of-this-world-bread for a change. in particular i was astonished to see the beauty of Monica's rose bread. it looked sooooo beautiful! like glass or crystal rose!!! =D sugoii!! and, thanks to the colour, i am now a fan of Shigeru Kanmuri!! xD those who know me wouldn't be surprised to note that shigeru has pink hair in addition to his violet eyes xDDDDD and his voice
is cool (in relation to Kawachi's) and mature (in relation to Azuma's) but not scary (in relation to
Tenchou's) ^______________^ go go Kanmuri go!!
demo... he looks really scary when he's irritated with Yukino, ne...
oh, talking about the anime of yakitate japan, i would like to deliver my congratulations to whoever fill in the voice of Yukino... hey man, or woman in that sense, you did your job wonderfully! i hate her laughter like mad, i tell you, and it really described her evil-ness to the full extent. really well done, Yukino's voice actress O.O
11 april 2006
yesterday was my dad's birthday! hahaha, he didn;t even remember about it until night when i wished him happy birthday. to tell the truth, my family doesnn't really have any tradition to celebrate birthdays. there was a picture of me in front of my birthday cake when i was an infant, when i was young sometimes my mom would boil me some red eggs during my chinese birthday (which i don't even know), some years ago i remembered having cakes in the month of my bro's birthday, but we don't have routine celebration for bithdays. if we remembered, we give the happy birthday wishes, if it happened to fall on a holiday or when my parents happen to have some time to spare we'd have something different than normal days.
yesterday, though, we went out to celebrate it, by eating supper (barely 3 hours after eating dinner, mind you) in warteg called Kalimantan in Gunung Sahari ^^ it's a very nice warteg, you know, excellent food and cheap. though the condition of the place could be better =p we shared a dish of noodles (some ancient beliefs about eating noodles or vermicelli(???????) during one's birthday) and fried egg with sauce. happy 54th birthday dad! ^^
some days ago i did something which i've been dreaming of doing since last year, when i was in the middle of A's stress, but of which i've not been able to do often due to unforeseen circumstances.. what was i talking about? oh yeah, i did a huge manga-shopping! went to 3 different bookstores in search for some interesting new books and the complete continuation of Lady Victorian. in Gunung Agung i didn't find many Elex mangas, but M&C mangas were available in abudance. bought some short stories and the first volume of a manga which i
thought interesting, called Trinity Blood. anyone have read it before? it reminds me of X Clamp, so i wonder if it has similar story.
Gramedia in Matraman was fanatstic! being the biggest branch of Gramedia, there's no doubt that the manga collection was superb. i was sorely tempted to start buying Shaman King, but since at that time my hands were already laden with 11 volumes of Lady Victorian (vol 5-15), Slam Dunk vol 31 and Meitantei Conan vol 44, i couldn't bring myself to spend even more on other mangas. perhaps other times, ne... i wish i had asked for the Kananta Kara vol 11-15 too, though, guess i just completely forgot about it.
i have been pondering since last night about my sub-conscious mind, things that i did that i didn't realise i did. i never noticed it before, but upon further analysing i realised that i have the tendency to like, as in fascinated/interested/favour stories which involve some form of mixed identity or mixed personality. meaning: girls who are actually guys, or guys who are actually girls, or guys which have feminin personality, or guys who have weird habit that involves with girly stuff... am i having some form of mental problems? mental distortion?? character confusion??? yaoi favoritism??!?!? >____________________<
there were some strong evidence too, they're all over my favourite manga list. let's see, starting from Fushigi Yuugi by Watase Yuu: my fave character is Nuriko -> guy who adopts female appearance and identity and is so well-transformed that nobody knew about it. then there's Lady Victorian by Naoko Moto: Lady Ethel -> Argent Grey -> similar story with Nuriko but even more perfect transformation. then there's Kimi wa Girlfriend by Maki Minami: Kirie Koganezawa -> he has peculiar tendency to dress up and make-up girls so that they look pretty. then there's Wanted by Mizuto Aqua: Kaijou Aoi whos is originally a guy but disguised
himself as a girl for a mission, and then the next story in the manga called First Step: Kaijou Saku and Yagari Ichigo who can pretend to be each other's boyfriends so naturally... then there's my current favourite manga OTOKOMAE! Beads Club by Motomi Kyousuke: Iwao, a very petite and rather cute girl, i mean boy, who loves to dress up as a girl... then there's Ouran High Host Club: this time it's a girl who is mistaken for a guy and has many fangirls fallen head over heels for him, her i mean. and, even though i won't categorise the anime as a favourite, the character that i like the most in Onegai Twins: Shimazaki Kyousei -> straight, but shows signs of being bi o.O and sometimes behave in rather suggestive manner towards Kamishiro-kun v.v
i like characters who are able to make me laugh the most, and most of the time those gender-confused characters happen to be the more hilarious ones, though this is not necessarily the case for every manga. for Ouran High Host Club, it's tough to decide which character that i like the most for the whole manga is able to make me laugh like mad all the time, i can't choose my fave coz they are all funny and they work altogether to produce that humorous atmosphere ^^.
talking about Onegai Twins... *sigh* i was rather disappointed with it. i wouldn't recommend you to watch it. too many redundant pauses, the story doesn't flow very well, has too simple a plot which is given too many irrelevant, i mean unimportant twists, and i don't like this romance-between-siblings idea >.< eughh... not remotely romantic, ne.. though i really like the character of the President xD she's small and cute, but has such a dangerous tone for a voice and speak in a very cold-blooded-murderer manner too. add that to her mysterious smile and peculiar ability to collect information and you'll get a character that's never been seen anywhere else before ^^

featuring: Yoshiki
about: Yochan underwent a surgery to correct his spine, a problem that had persisted since 1995, when he finally started to feel numbness in his fingers. the surgery went fine, thank goodness. hopefully he will recover completely and it doesn't affect his piano playing. as for drums...don't forget your neck braces everytime you drums, yochan!
etc: read below xD i've made too many layouts featuring Yoshiki i don't wish to repeat myself =P

Featuring: Versailles
Background: formed in 2007 by founding member Kamijo (ex Lareine) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid), they released their debut single Revenant Choir which tells a story about a clan.
Just as like Kamijo's past works, Versailles tells a story through their symphonic metal music and extravagantly elaborate costumes inspired from antique European era.
Members: Kamijo (vocals), Hizaki (guitar), Teru (guitar), Jasmine-You (bass), Yuki (drums)
etc: Versailles beautiful music managed to win my heart totally. saddened by the loss of Jasmine-YOU in 2009, but i hope the 4 of them will still make great music from now onwards. rest in peace, Jasmine-YOU, and watch out for the guys from up there...

featuring: S.K.I.N.
Background: Formed in 2007, performed first during Anime Expo at the States in May.
Members: Yoshiki (drums, piano, guitar), Gackt (vocal, piano), Sugizo (guitar, violin), Miyavi (guitar, shamisen)
etc: ekkusu phase 2.0 was lost because i didn't save it in photobucket (because it refused to upload it properly).
and so, from now i'll start my skin from phase .1 instead of .0

Model's background: manga character (Eyeshield 21)
More about the model: quarterback of Deimon Devilbats, The Commander From Hell;
the backbone and the brain behind Deimon High School's American Football Club, The Deimon Devilbats.
Icons: various facial expressions of Hiruma, the maniacal, elven-faced leader of Devilbats ^^
Etc: Eyeshield 21 is a sports manga about American Football and it's one of my current favourite.
My rating for them is:
hilarity 10/10
excitement: 9/10
intellectual level: 9/10
drawing: 7/10
characterisation: 9/10

More about the model: the faint background picture of Yoshiki was taken in the recent years when he's already cut his hair short and
started the habit of wearing sunglasses.
Icons: pictures taken from Yoshiki's house in LA: his front door, piano in the middle room, dining room and swimming pool.
Etc: I can write essays on Yoshiki, but let's just keep it simple and straightforward: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!
