finally, after days of getting error-ed files and getting timed-out by the server, i'd managed to get the continuation volumes of my current fave manga: BLACK CAT! Labels: btss, manga anime
can't stop thinking about it, i love this manga XD when i said it has really good-looking characters, it was actually quite an understatement. this manga is full of bishis(1)! XD from the time i saw Sheldon-san's face, i was already hoping that he'll leave the Apostles of the Stars, coz i can't bear to see him get killed >.< and Janus is even more handsome than Train, and such a charming man too XD i loooove his weapon! compared to it, Train's Hades looks such a plain weapon ne... and i actually pity Creed... his character is very suitable for a yaoi(2) plot, too bad this isn't such manga, so his 'love and affection' towards Train left un-returned *pats Creed's head* and he's such a narcist too *shakes head* you're not compatible with Train, Creed, forget about him and catch Sheldon-sama! XD *oops*
anyway... A's result less than 24 hours away. i'm leaving tonight to go to that place where i'll get my 'judgement' result. from then on, what i can do, what i will do, will be decided by that small slip of paper which contains my grades.
still, my love towards Black Cat won't fade away... nyaaaaaah XD i just read from Wikipedia that Viz had had the license to release it and the first English volume will be released in March this year. GOOD TIMING! i just found volume 7-10 of Black Cat Indonesian version, but the books were soo thin and the papers flimsy that i didn't want to buy. like what marlin said, Viz comics are better to be collected coz of its paper, so once they release it in singapore, i will start collecting ^______^
anyway i still salute Banzai Comics, the one which released Black Cat indonesian version. if only they are more acessible, i would have bought it, but i can't even find the first 6 books >.< bad idea to start collecting from volume 7 ne!
*suffering the BTSS (Back To Singapore Syndromme)...*
ps: some vocabulary help
1: Bishis : bishounen -> usually used to refer to good lookings guys who has somewhat a feminin touch to his features, and they are usually extremely charming too ^^
2: Yaoi -> guy-liking-another-guy situation. there are a few yaoi mangas out there, though i've never really encountered one, but usually yaoi is present in FanFics.

yep yep yep, mangadownload.net had too much mangas to offer, and since i'm done reading the available Death Note chapters, i've started reading some other mangas. quite difficult to choose potential manga from so many available titles, but i read some reviews and look at the ratings that the readers give as my guidance. the readers reviews can't be too bad, can it, since more than 500 of them rated Death Note 9.6/10 ^^ Labels: manga anime
so, this new manga that i've been reading is called Black Cat. title doesn't seem interesting, but i can tell you that the manga is awesome. it's been rated 9.4 and has really good review too. detailed artwork, action-packed scenes, cool characters, he has it all, Yabuki Kentaro. the main characters are cool and good-looking to the degree of Yuu Watase's guys (you can imagine then how handsome they are) and yet some bad guys are horrible looking like the criminals in Aoyama Gosho's Meitantei Conan.
some brief review about the manga. it took place like in the future, or perhaps in a parallel world, for they don't seem to have countries with normal names like in current world. the main character is called Train, who used to be a "pet cat" under one huge organisation, his job was: assassin. but he left the organisation and now live as "stray cat", and took a new job: sweeper a.k.a. bounty hunter. together with his partner, Sven, they travelled to capture criminals to get some money. the story twist and turn and became more complicated, but i shouldn't ruin it for you if you wanna read it.
i loooove Train's eyes!! they're just like a cat! *nyaaaahhh* XD and he IS like a cat: likes to drink milk, likes to sleep, very light on his feet, super-sharp eyesight, he's just so cool!!!! XD
personally i give this manga: 9.6/10, just 0.1 below Death Note ^^ if you wanna read some good quality manga, read Black Cat! oh, here is where you can get it. i just love this site!!
i just read the blogit section of mangadownload.net and found
this news! =DDDDDDDDDDDDD they're making the MOVIE for DEATH NOTE!!!! how cool is that??!??! XDDDDDDDD sugoii sugoii sugoii~ i just can't wait for the movie to be released!

on saturday night, while i was about to go into my room to put down my towel after bathing, i passed by my parents' room which had a tv switched on channel Phoenix (Kabelvision) on high volume, and i caught the melody of a song which was so familiar and so dear to me, even though at that time i couldn't really recognise what song. immediately i stopped by and took a glimpse on the tv screen, and when i saw what was being aired i ran into the room with a shriek.
Vois Sur Ton Chemin sang by Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc Choir. (click to hear sample of the songs from Amazon.com)
it was airing the performance of the choir which sang for the movie Les Choristes, one of my favourite movie! goodness!! it's not excerpt from the movie, not a videoclip of the movie with the song from the CD, but it's them! the choir on stage and performing to a huuuuge audience seated on a really big theater. until now i still don't know where was the place or whether i can purchase the VCD or DVD anywhere. all i know is that the performance was in 2005, means that it was only a year after the movie was launched and became famous.
was mesmerized once again by Caresse sur L'Ocean. if on the movie and on the CD Jean-Baptiste Maunier showed that he could sing well, in the performance he sang even better! reaching the highest note of the song , "... calme sur l'ocean~" perfectly! *shivers* it was awesome!! i really want to let my parents watch the movie, must hunt for it in local VCD store...
just for your information, the movie Les Chroristes was nominated as Best Foreign Language Movie and the song Vois Sur Ton Chemin was nominated Best Music (Song) in Academy Award 2004! ^___^

i was told of this quest by my old primary school friend whom i was talking about the other day, sasa. i haven't read the book, of course, so i was quite unsure if i should be taking it at all. but i tried and it was quite interesting. got stuck in some parts but eventually i made it to the 2nd last clue where i was told to find a series of number in page 44 of the book O.O i don't own the book!! but google and yahoo are not available for nothing, so i googled about it and found a person who had been so kind as to provide the series of number for those quest-taker who don't own the book. eventually i got to the last clue, but it was a phone number!! geez!! i'm not going to make international call just for a game! quite disappointed, but at least i know what the message in the phone would be, thanks to her also ^^
if you wanna try the quest, go here:
http://www.randomhouse.com/doubleday/davinci/index-utc.php
the quest that i took was called the original da vinci code quest or something, not the one directly available once the loading is finished.

got news from my brother and yessica that this weekend will be the day O's result is announced. means that somewhere next week or the week after will be A's turn. judgement day is approaching! *shivers* Labels: school
i don't even know how to feel about it. one moment i can be horrified by the thought, surely it isn't this fast??! the next moment i was deadly calm about it; come what may, i thought.
maybe this has something to do with the way i've been thinking about my future. i've talked, or rather lectured over by, several friends of mine who gave good advices about university options. one encouraged me to start living my own life, making my own decision, decision that is supposed to be due to the interest that i have, not just for my parents sake. the other one warned me to take course that i really want, the one i really enjoy, that will make me happy, no matter what kind of job that course will bring me in the future, coz taking course that you don't thoroughly enjoy will bring disaster.
thanks to them i've opened the door to the path that i've been wanting to take a little wider. now i'm not horrified by the thought of A's result. i would most probably still cry if i get bad results on my cert, get moody for days, maybe regret truthfully of wasting 2 years in JC, but it won't be the end of me, yet. if i'm forcefully kicked out of singapore due to the lack of choices/options that i can take with my cert, then i'll just have to go somewhere else where there's still someone who'll take me in. and if i get good grades that open the door to further singapore education, i will be grateful too. whichever ways, life goes on, ne ;-)
Death Note chapter 91-93 is available already! man, i really want to know how this story will end. i really like Near with his silver-white hair, he really looked like a genius angel-child who liked to play despite having to hunt the Kira-Killer. on the other hand, Light is still my hero and i really want him to win this battle! hmmm... hard choices to make, Near or Light? justice or Kira?
got the news from Mr Koh about the publisher, and peifen, my PJC mate, gave me some numbers to contact too, and Vanity told me about a place in Bras Basah where there are many publishers that might provide service of making personalised calendar. yay! so many contacts already! thanks to the message i put on my MSN nickname =p one step closer towards a Yoshiki calendar!
Ro's taking a further step towards making Unnamed Project a more solid 'organisation', she has started recruiting people who are willing to sacrifice some time and energy for our projects. i must say that i was quite disappointed with the people whom i thought are devoted Yoshiki fans but turn out to be easily-bored out of the activity pretty fast. i hope whoever make the team this time will be as fantastic as our YBP 2002 team had been. if anyone is reading this and would like to be part of the team, a team who'll be taking care of future Yoshiki-related projects, please tag me or simply go to http://screamingKIAI.net and tell us that you want to be in!
i'll be changing my blog song soon. perhaps to something that's more thrilling, like how i'm feeling towards the outcome of A's ^^

because of donat, i've started reading Lady Victorian. didn't start earlier coz couldn't find the 1st book at TA, so when i went to MAG with my old friend Yenche on Friday, i checked out the Gramedia and found the 1st book. bought and read vol 1-4 already. didn't start off too convincingly, but later on the story build up to become really interesting ^^ not bad, not bad...
talking about MAG, the short for Mall Artha Gading, it was my first time stepping into the new mall. been driving past it everyday for a month perhaps, but never been into it. i was surprised to know that it's so huge! and it has very interesting interior design too, dividing the mall into different atriums, each having its own style and decoration according to its name: Persia, India, China, Paris, Italy and finally 'Nusantara'.
China atrium has its own 'Wishing Pond' instead of 'Wishing Well' and you can throw coins into it, on top of the pond, hanging low from the ceiling, was a huge red dragon and a ball to accompany it. Paris looks more like Greek, actually, because of a number of big sculptures arranged in circular manner on the 2nd floor. and if i'm not wrong, there was Ali Baba on its magic flying carpet hung on Persia, or maybe India, atrium. it has 'passage de panoramas' and 'silk road' too O.o really different from normal malls, you should go and check it out if you can =)

... was remembering an MSN conversation with one of my choir juniors just now regarding the current choir situation. was informed that the conductor had been changed, which saddened me somehow, but hopefully they can cooperate well with the new one. also, this jr told me that a certain xxx is no more, to which i replied with an enthusiastic GOOD, and he, too, echoed my reply GOOD. but we both promised each other not to let xxx heard about it, we don't want to be sued *bleh*
not that i have a lot of grudge against xxx. just that i don't think xxx is fair enough in giving our participation marks. heck, i got EVERY single bloody thing under 'average' when some of the activity i've never even heard about, much less participate in it, and others i feel like i deserve more than just an 'average'. i wonder if xxx had been looking at the mark sheet when allocating the points. or maybe xxx just mark several sheets like that, everything under 'average', and then writing the names of the unheard-of members, like mine, on them *shrugs* who knows. what i know is, xxx doesn't know us well enough, or even LONG enough, to be marking this. and i was unhappy for it. to me, xxx looks like one of those people who considers the exco members, and ONLY the exco members, to be the ones who run everything and thus they are the ones who should be given high marks for everything. little does xxx knows about the reality, the real situation...
anyway i went online not for the purpose of scolding xxx online. i met mr koh online yesterday and i asked him to ask for a piece of information about the publisher company that the photographic society used from the photog teacher. he promised to email me, hope he'd remember, my screamingKIAI mates are still waiting for the info... but MSN had helped me quite a lot in this info hunting. vanity had just told me that she might be able to help. heck, how could i forget, she IS a soon-to-be graphic designer, and thus would have more info about that area. marlin had also just talked to me about it. yay! more hope! i would definitely love to realise this project, hopefully soon enough to present one as Yochan's next birthday present ^^ ganbarimashou!
and, Happy Chinese New Year! i got more hongbao than i would have done if i stayed in singapore, hahaha ^^;;;;;;

featuring: Yoshiki
about: Yochan underwent a surgery to correct his spine, a problem that had persisted since 1995, when he finally started to feel numbness in his fingers. the surgery went fine, thank goodness. hopefully he will recover completely and it doesn't affect his piano playing. as for drums...don't forget your neck braces everytime you drums, yochan!
etc: read below xD i've made too many layouts featuring Yoshiki i don't wish to repeat myself =P

Featuring: Versailles
Background: formed in 2007 by founding member Kamijo (ex Lareine) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid), they released their debut single Revenant Choir which tells a story about a clan.
Just as like Kamijo's past works, Versailles tells a story through their symphonic metal music and extravagantly elaborate costumes inspired from antique European era.
Members: Kamijo (vocals), Hizaki (guitar), Teru (guitar), Jasmine-You (bass), Yuki (drums)
etc: Versailles beautiful music managed to win my heart totally. saddened by the loss of Jasmine-YOU in 2009, but i hope the 4 of them will still make great music from now onwards. rest in peace, Jasmine-YOU, and watch out for the guys from up there...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/arsenal_x/ekkusu2.1copy.jpg
featuring: S.K.I.N.
Background: Formed in 2007, performed first during Anime Expo at the States in May.
Members: Yoshiki (drums, piano, guitar), Gackt (vocal, piano), Sugizo (guitar, violin), Miyavi (guitar, shamisen)
etc: ekkusu phase 2.0 was lost because i didn't save it in photobucket (because it refused to upload it properly).
and so, from now i'll start my skin from phase .1 instead of .0

Featuring: Hiruma Youichi
Model's background: manga character (Eyeshield 21)
More about the model: quarterback of Deimon Devilbats, The Commander From Hell;
the backbone and the brain behind Deimon High School's American Football Club, The Deimon Devilbats.
Icons: various facial expressions of Hiruma, the maniacal, elven-faced leader of Devilbats ^^
Etc: Eyeshield 21 is a sports manga about American Football and it's one of my current favourite.
My rating for them is:
hilarity 10/10
excitement: 9/10
intellectual level: 9/10
drawing: 7/10
characterisation: 9/10

Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,
guitarist, composer of band Violet UK, debut coming soon.
More about the model: Yoshiki in the early X Japan era in early 90's when he still has long curly locks.
Etc: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!

Featuring: Hayashi Yoshiki
Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,
guitarist, composer of band Violet UK, debut coming soon. Born in Tateyama, Chiba (Japan) in 20th November 1965 and currently living in Los Angeles, California (USA).
Head company of Extasy Records, Extasy Japan and Extasy Records International (now defunct). http://myspace.com/yoshiki
More about the model: the faint background picture of Yoshiki was taken in the recent years when he's already cut his hair short and
started the habit of wearing sunglasses.
Icons: pictures taken from Yoshiki's house in LA: his front door, piano in the middle room, dining room and swimming pool.
Etc: I can write essays on Yoshiki, but let's just keep it simple and straightforward: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!
