just watched Impossible City in Discovery Channel (going back home means having access to all these wonderful cable channels, discovery and national geographics and they have awesome shows) and it was truly jaw-dropping. my jaw was literally gaping during the one hour; Dubai is beyond amazing!!!
maybe i should learn Arabic too.

i like mirotic a lot. maybe wouldn't describe it as i LOVE it, like i would describe jaejoong's Footstep, or yoochun's Fox Rain. but that's maybe because it's easier to LOVE their ballads more than their dance numbers, after all they sound very much more impressive in their ballads. but while Rising Sun and O are growing on me, Mirotic has not. or maybe that's just because i've been singing Rising Sun and O a lot on k-ok, and i discovered their therapeutic quality xD but for the time being, Mirotic is still under category of "like. a lot." Labels: comment, comment: song, performance
then again, that's for the studio version. now, the remixes are totally different story.
so far, i think they've performed several versions of Mirotic. the most famous "alternative" was the "clean" version in which "under my skin" was changed to "under my sky". but no matter which versions, most of the remixes include extensive arrangement of strings that sounds really, really cool. and i have something or the sound of string arrangement.
i've not heard the Mirotic that they performed during their 4th Japan Live Tour, but i heard someone mentioning that it's so good it should be declared the official Mirotic remix. for the time being, though, these are my favourite Mirotic performances and remixes.
before starting, just a little story about "under my sky" version. apparently it has been ruled that Mirotic shall NOT be performed before a certain period of time at night because the suggestive lyrics are considered "harmful" for the youngs. so, TVXQ has been forced to change their lyrics so that they can perform it during some award show. SM was protesting against this ruling tho and, i suppose, the guys themselves too.
Mirotic - original version (kor) + english sub
this vid translated Mirotic into english and i don't understand what could be so harmful about it. but, now i know why chun always performed his bridge solo part with that particular attitude and expression in his voice =D and why fans are always eager to repeat after them in concerts xD
081210 Golden Disc award - Are You A Good Girl + Mirotic Remix (clean ver)
why i like this performance: the abundance of string arrangement inside! this is my favourite Mirotic Remix to date. love the sound! and the performance itself is memorable in a number of ways:
1) TVXQ won the bonsang award, daesang award, and popularity award through Mirotic album in this award show, and after they received their awards, they performed an encore of Mirotic (during which yoochun looked considerably dead xD);
2) eventhough this is my fave ver of Mirotic (minus the "under my sky" i mean), i'd be perfectly content with just listening to them instead of watching. maybe because i don't like their costume style. black-white minute checkered suits don't look too impressive, and what the heck did they make jaejoong wear??? a sleeveless fur-ry coat with no shirt??? heh?? the only ones whose costume i approve here are junsu and yunho. chun looked too prim and proper in his suit, like he's going to be the best man in a wedding ceremony or something, and min's red shirt somehow clashed with the black-white checkered pattern in my eyes -_- and jae just looked...inappropriate in the bad way >_<>
3) !! they were performing the clean ver of Mirotic, but their dance routine had been enhanced with even more suggestive moves and that just amused me. it seemed like tvxq was thumbing down their nose on the ruling. clean up the lyrics, fine, we'll do it. but nobody says anything about dance routines, and raunchy-fying it seemed like a good enough "revenge" against the ruling xD
4) they managed to make me listen to Are You A Good Girl =P really, if not accompanied by any performance, i think i'll keep skipping this song forever. that's the bad thing about tvxq's dance numbers: most of them failed to engage me enough to make me want to listen to them. so the only time when i'll be listening to them is when i'm watching them performing it.
now, it's importat to note that the next performance was done AFTER they've won those golden disc awards above xD
081229 SBS Gayo - Wrong Number + Mirotic remix
why i like this performance:
1) they actually started singing the bridge before everything else, and with a new movement, too, that looks sleek and cool. and chun being so-yoochun at 3.45-3.55 is also one of the highlights for me. he's the only one among them all who'd do something like adding a wink and putting such sleazyyoochun expression during his short solo part and right after.
2) on top of strings arrangement, this particular remix has more rockish feel, with pronounced electric guitar parts to replace synthetizer sound in the original version, and they changed the rythm of the drums too. i duno if the electric guitar solo in the bridge was appropriate for their dance (you can't dance to rock...) but i have something for rock music, so i like it xD
3) black jacket/tuxedo costume is cool. way cooler than b/w-mini-checkered print suits. jae's tuxedo is cute, and chun's waistcoat too ^^ and yunho's gentlemanly character fits his long coat perfectly, tho i'm not sure if they fit the dance xD and, perhaps because Wrong Number doesn't have a very rigorous dance routines, they still looked pretty fresh while performing Mirotic, and positively much less sweaty than the Golden Disc performance xD
4) come on, you've obviously seen this one coming. i mean, this particular performance is SO memorable precisely because of the lil act they did right at the end. i said it's important to note that they performed this AFTER they've won all those awards coz, i guess, that they couldn't care less what happen after that and went ALL THE WAY into "protesting" against the ruling. it's like the furthest they could do without stripping on stage, and they did it. if the government body ruling against the lyrics were watching, perhaps they would sputtered out their tea when they watched it while their wives/daughters joined the cassis scream =P5) chun's back looked the most girl-y out of the 5
i bet all my sewing equipments that those are snap buttons on the their shirts! lol xD someone should make a gif of that, really.
through these 2 performances, i really appreciate the control junsu has over his voice. really, even with rigorous movements, he still managed to sing perfectly without compromising much on his movements. yoochun, as you notice from both clips, went off-tune at least once for each performance. sigh.
but i like his voice because of the way he inserts attitude in it. like in the first video (golden disc), 2.20 min onwards: yunho and yoochun are both well-known to be the rappers of the group, but i think that yoochun raps more naturally than yunho, precisely because of the fierceness he portrays while rapping.
junsu's the king of control, he never fails, and jaejoong has the most beautiful, gentle voice out of the 5, but when it comes to range of voice textures, attitude and expression, yoochun's the man.
followed closely by junsu.
perhaps that's why i think that the both of them are the most versatile singers in the group; they can handle ballads as well as they handle dance songs. jaejoong's soft, gentle voice is perfect for heart-wrenching ballads, but he sounds a bit drowned in faster dance songs in which a little bit of harshness is essential. changmin, as i've always described, has rather harsh edge to his voice, not to mention he's infamous for being VERY loud in concerts, which is why he's perfect to sing faster songs, and why he always gets the yell-at-the-top-of-your-lungs part in dance numbers, but i still think that his voice is bit too harsh for ballads. yunho's voice is moderately adequate for both ballads and dance numbers.
yoosu, on the other hand, are able to switch modes and change the colour of the voices according to what's needed. when it's required that they portray sadness, they're melancholic and beautifully sorrowful (tho not as beautiful as jaejoong), and when it's required that they portray anger, attitude, they show off their fierce side and thumbs their noses at you through their voices (tho min's still the most fierce when he yells)
will be looking forward to sing this in Top One KTV coz that means i can watch them at the same time xDDD

so, after one cash studio session and one top one ktv session during which i was fluent-enough in terms of tohoshinki songs to be able to sing their japanese songs adequately well, and to sing their korean songs adequately well with the help of cheat sheets, i've been rewarded by a small, erm, achievement, whatever, which is: obachan and hari have both wanted me to direct them to the catchy thsk songs i sang. Labels: cash studio, karaoke, tohoshinki
*YESYESYESYEYSYESYESSSSS!!!!*
*coughs*
i couldn't remember the songs i sang on the cash studio session, but i would, once i listen to my recordings. lol, i still do keep recordings of out k-ok sessions even though i can't remember whether it was our n-th time or z-th time xD
but anyway today we went to the top one ktv. (i feel that my writing style is going slightly weird here but pardon me coz i just finished reading a really funny fic in the form of diary-writing and it was so engaging i couldn't stop myself from devouring all 10 new updates in one go and now i'm stuck writing in the style of the fic-writer xD) i swear i didn't mean to cheat on bel when i said that i'm going ktv with nata. coz... it just happened that hari said that he's running out of songs and we should get more people, and so i thought there's about 0.01% chance that he might back out and so i only mention obachan whom, i will make sure, will go for the session. lol =P
i just want to have k-ok session with them all before i'm going back indo, can you blame me for trying? =P
anyway just now i brought my cheatsheets. the complete one. the one that has both songs for cash studio and top one ktv. hohohoho!
i sang Rising Sun twice! man, i officially declare that song as one of the important de-stressing song, the kind that you sing just so that you can yell at the top of your lungs and feel great about it. changmin's yell there is just awesome. friggin awesome for yelling. other important de-stressing songs are nakashima's glamorous sky, laruku's new world, tommy february's pray and naruto's haruka kanata. coming soong will be bolero, perhaps? =D i'd love to attempt chun's yell at the bridge, tho i doubt i can reach his pitch >_<> that guy does some seriously crazy yelling eventhough he smokes, and does it heart-wrenchingly beautifully too...
i sang Hug twice too! it was a pity that i was distracted much by my cheat sheets that i couldn't enjoy the MV much. it was their debut song! all of them looked mecchadorable there! especially 15-yr-old min gwahh!! xDD i think it was the clip that yanghong asked me to watch like last year when she was introducing them to me. too bad they didn't catch my interest back then. perhaps it's because i was being shown the video as opposed to bel who let me listen to them =p
sang O twice too!! LOL!! or did i? i did, right? once the japanese version the other the korean version? xD i wanted to watch the dance too, but O is even harder to sing than Rising Sun so gotta concentrate on my cheat sheet much more carefully -_- next time i go top one, better try to memorise all these songs so that i can sing while looking at the screen happily while squealing their names once in a while... sang Unforgettable too =) still love this song a lot. i should memorise this song too. too bad cash studio doesn't have it -_- it's such a nice ballad...
we sang Balloons three times! like THREE friggin times LOL! xD oh wait. was it two times? =DDD xD i forgot! but no matter, i managed to make obachan (and hari, i guess?) watch the stupid MV and, of course, they laughed at silly jaejoong failing to get the attention of the little boy right at the end of the MV. jaejaeeee!! xDDD he's looks so silly there, having an annoyed-pout on his lips while wearing that lion costume and with the paws still attached to his hands xD
obachan didn't think too highly of my chun. and bel's su. tho it was impressive that she kept mentioning min when beforehand she already told me that she "decided" that she likes jae and ho the most.
why does everyone can be called by the last part of their names except jaejoong? i mean, nobody ever called him joong. nobody. nobody nobody but you~ i digress. i mean, really, it's common for everyone to be called by the last part of their names. su. chun. ho. min. sometimes yunho's being called yun, but generally he's being called ho (except when we're talking about the pairing yunjae) but nobody really ever addressed jaejoong by "joong".
the privilege of being the oldest? *shrugs* why am i bothering with it anyway.
but anyway, i was saying that obachan didn't think too highly of yoosu. why not, obachan, why not? they're the famous couple that always create the laughter in shows and cons, they're the dork couple! not to mention that they have the highest number of fan cafes' members in korea's search engine daum and naver with at least thousands of members more than #3,4,5 jaehomin but maybe it's my fault coz i DID ask her not to watch anyhow vids and yoosu's charms really lies on their dorkiness and the way they kept making people laugh by doing random stuff and doing random things. and i've not really been recommending lots of vids to obachan so she couldn't possibly have known half the funny-ness of yoosu... but i just didn't want her to watch some nasty fancams or whatever and get turned off, i want to introduce to her the hilarious-est of them before anything else =/
gotta work on rectifying that problem. at the tip of my mind now is the Exploration of Human Body. but perhaps it won't be such a good idea, coz it has SuJu inside, and introducing obachan to SuJu while she's still adapting to thsk is bad. just now she was like "they're super junior....so, they're undebuted? junior..." --> unfortunately, obachan, i don't think SM entertainment knows that johnny's entertainment calls their undebuted trainees "juniors", so it's not their fault that they sounded like undebuted group to us johnnys' fans (and SM-newbies). but trust me when i say that SuJu's about as popular as tohoshinki in korea, and as far as i know they're quite aggressively targeting the chinese market too.
i'll work on a compilation of clips to introduce obachan and hari to TVXQ THE DORKS. youtube, please cooperate with me!
anyway! with obachan and hari on track to becoming my next sing-toho-songs partners, i should start thinking of what songs to recommend them too, and preferably push some with harmonising parts for us to learn together. hari can already do the "ha~~ ha~~ ha~~" part of Love In The Ice and obachan and me have tried to work the harmonising part out. judging by the amount of time it took us to master Miso Soup, i hope by the 5th time we sing LITI in cash studio, we would be able to master it xD
and then there's Bolero to wait for. mmmmm~ can't wait for my return from shanghai xD
yea, i'm going back indo this wednesday v_v not my wish, if i could have my wish i would be staying here until the time comes that my mind screamed at my head to do something and perhaps i'd start working at rasa sentosa again to get pocket money so that i can go to tohoshinki's concert in shanghai in october but nooooo, it's my parent's nagging that i can no longer ignore. so i'm going off on wednesday and won't be back in sg til around september, during which i'll come back to attend convocation and get photographed with the hailed robe and cap (finally!) and drag my friends out for some late graduation trip to somewhere and then back home again til the time comes for me to leave for shanghai in around february.
china does not block blogspot like it blocks youtube, does it? i'll cry my heart out if i can't blog during my stay there. or perhaps i'll run someplace else and make it a temporary blog. but i have to have my LJ f-list. HAVE TO. will die without them. haha. they're the window to the fandom world, man. i don't read newspaper, but i check my f-list religiously =P
kay. time to knock off and hopefully by the time i come back to blog again, i'm no longer "infected" by this writing style k-chan91 has influenced me with xD

this interview is...... a bit weird. there's a weird tension in the air. the interviewer is not seen. tohoshinki is not really at ease like they usually are. there were attempts to create conversation among themselves. and, perhaps because of habit when they're a bit cornered, they started giving each other reassurence pats once in a while. Labels: jaechunsu, jaejoong, tohoshinki
but can i just say one thing that doesn't change?
jaejoong's still a klutz who says the wrong thing at the wrong time.
that doesn't change.
and i LOL-ed when he talked about how he's not confident if he's not wearing rings xD! chun peeped to his hands and he quickly put it up, hiding his face behind them while the "doeng~~" sound effect kicked in because he was NOT wearing them xDDD
junsu and jaejoong should compete for the title of the clown/klutz of dbsk. oh, once they're at it, throw in yoochun as an extra contender too. it should make an interesting competition =P
7:07 pm
i've not eaten since morning. this is becoming a habit -_- someone should invent the obsession-with-fandom diet that comprises of morning intake of fandom clips to replace breakfast and afternoon intake of fandom news to replace lunch (dinner is like usual coz if i hog the computer for so long, hany's gonna start nagging. Labels: junsu, NEWS, tohoshinki, variety, yoochun
anyway. this post is dedicated to food-loving tohoshinki. and i want to dedicate a paragraph to yoochun (whom, everyone's been commenting, is looking older and losing his boyish charms):
eventho he's looking older, his smile is still irreplaceable and irresistable!
micky micky you're so fine you're so fine you blow my mind hey mickychunnie~
in NEWS we have massu who's famous for always talking about food, and yamapi who's actually as enthusiastic about food as massu does. in tohoshinki, it's usually changmin who kept talking about food, but really it seemed like the whole group is made up of five massu and yamapi xDDD tohoshinki + food = funny footage of the boys almost drooling looking at the delicious food being shown, LOL!
don't watch this if you're hungry xD the following footage is heavy with the talk and action of consuming and description of yummilicious food xD
ZOOM IN SUPER SPECIAL feat TOHOSHINKI
credit: DBSKnights@blogspot
8.20 onwards made me giggle heavily. look at the look of apprehension and disbelief on chun's face as he held the natto+coffee-jelly sandwich in his hand xD he's the only one who doesn't have a speck of white on his mouth after trying out the sandwich (but we didn't get to see jae's mouth so i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that, being the one who cooks, he can handle food better than his dongsaengs and can eat as neatly as chun xD)
the following one is one of the highlight of this show, the questionnaire of who's who in Tohoshinki. fandom loves to play this thing, who's the dad, mom, kids, PET. yep, pet is one of the highlight xD in NEWS, kei-chan is well known to be the mom-figure. but since the group is a bit big, they've added a grandpa character too, which is shige xD personally i think ryo should be dad, but most people choose yamapi as dad character. and tegomassu both are popular as pet =P
then, for tohoshinki, who's who? when the preview of this was up in the community, some discussion took place as to who's the onisan, otoutou and pet, coz i think that i's universally agreed that yunho=dad and jaejoong=mom. this is the official result of the voting (move the cursor to 3rd minute if you want to skip the food-talk part):
they love to tease their magnae xD i really think the oldest-looking now is chun, tho =P changmin can look so young sometimes, but he's also cooler and serious-looking than chun, so perhaps that's why he's voted as oniisan? =P yoosu fans cherish the yoosu moment there, when chun willingly offered that he likes to be the pet, and su saying later that the youngest's usually the one who plays with the pet the most xD (su DOES receive the most attention from chun, ne =p)

edit: i mean, i know that people who are in my f-list are people who can understand me and my little craziness over fandoms, so i have no qualms sharing something that's more personal with them. but this blog is open for everyone who stumbled upon it to see. so, just for a precautionary measure, i'll talk about stuff that's more Labels: notificationembarrassing crazy-bordering-psychotic stuff there, in the world where, i know, people go crazy about such stuff all the time and we can share our little stories and spazz together =P

... is Perfume!!! Labels: tohoshinki
=P
since the first time i saw them, i don't think too highly of them. i'm sorry to say that they seemed like some ditzy (read:goblok) cutesy type of girls ala momusu... they were very popular though to reasons unknown to me but at least they're stupid ditzy enough to make a funny conversation in which tohoshinki can look at them in disbelief before bursting into laughter

congratulationsfornumberoneandtwofordominatingthechartfortwoyearsinarowbutanyway
i was quite surprised at the rest of the names. firstly jaejoong 0__0 woot~ he's number 3! i mean.... it's CDTV!! it's JAPANESE RANKING!!! and he's number 3!!!! last year he wasn't even in top 5... why is he suddenly number 3??? well i'm happy and all, just a bit surprised xD and kinda touched as well. congratulations, jaejoongie!!
pi-chan climbed the chart! =D even though NEWS only released Koi no ABO (which image is not really cool or whatsoever) this year. omg come to think of it, by this time last year NEWS had released TWO singles! 0___0 what the heck, NEWS management?? are you all booted off to help arashi promote their 10th year anniversary campaign or what? johnny kitagawa-jisan, please pay more attention to you boys, can?? -___- they don't deserve this kind of treatment and neither do the fans...
and, despite arashi chartwhoring this years' CD sales like crazy, matsujun lost his #4 spot. that's a bit surprising. and despite yatterman movie, it's nino who's up in number 10 instead of sho-kun o_o that's surprising too.
and, if anyone's wondering who's that guy in number 9, he's the guy playing the idiot of a teacher in Scrap Teacher starring HSJ yama-chan, yuuto, chinen and daiki. =___= i don't even know he sings -____- i don't know abt him but i do know that i hate his character in Scrap Teacher *bleah* could be one of the reason that i declare it one of the worst drama i've watched this year.
this makes 6 people maintaining their position at the top 10 spot for these 2 years: akame, matsujun, yamapi, jaejoong and hyde. congratulations!! forthelatterfour especially for hyde, i think 0_0 what is it about him that's so appealing? i mean, he's the sole representative of the JRock scene in that ranking, and he's been at it for 2 years. considering that everyone else is from the pop-scene, and hyde hasn't even been in dramas or something, just music, it's quite an achievement 0_0 way to go, hyde fans! =DDD
oh, for the female ranking, it's YUI at number 1 again, same like last year ^___^ gratz to YUI!!! Every Little Thing's singer is also at the top few again like last year.

like having yamapi as my idol =P Labels: article news, musing, yamapi
i was reading this translation just now and suddenly i was reminded of NEWS again. i'm sorry to admit that for awhile my mind was too preoccupied with tohoshinki and my hunger for more and more information of them. and since NEWS hasn't had any activities yet other than upcoming 24-hr Terebi in august, i've beek skipping the community updates in my f-list. i don't know what made me click on this link, but i'm glad i did, coz it's the translation of yamapi's recent interview. and, as always, he's full of inspiration.
Nikkei Entertainment, Aug 2009.

About six months ago, my perspective changed greatly. While thinking about what I was going to do with my future, I thought, "I can't just stay this way... what have I been doing until now?" Part of it also comes from a time that some of my foreign friends came over -- while I was listening to them talk, I became really inspired. "These guys are really free... they're doing all the things they've always wanted to do." I was forced to realize that that's a real possibility.
I think that somewhere inside of me, there was a sense of satisfaction with the way things were. After all, I was given the opportunity to play the lead role in a drama. However, if I settle with what I have now, the future won't hold anything bigger... I thought, "If I don't set goals for myself further in the future, I'll never be able to get there." Without doing anything at all, I might last another 2 or 3 years. If that's the case, though, then I should start changing right now... I've decided to think about where I see myself when I'm 40 or 50 and do everything that I can do now. I wish I had realized this sooner. Right now, I regret that lost time, and honestly, I feel like I have a lot to make up for.
After that realization, I've thought up of a lot of things, and so I write them down in order to remember them. I've realized that nothing will change unless I take the initiative and talk things over with the agency. It's not enough to just do whatever you're told. It's also important to speak out when you don't want to do something. On the other hand, if there's something I want to be a part of, I make a point of going to tell someone. "I want to do this. What should I do to get involved?" There are many things that have come into being because I made the first move that way.
i've not read many others' interviews, and those that i've read are mostly only NEWS members. but out of them all, it's yamapi's speeches that always inspiring. sometimes i just wonder why he's so...driven. yes he always sound grateful for everything that he has, for fans, for NEWS, for his career, but he's also always be looking for something else, new skill to improve himself (like english), practicing more on what he already can do so that he becomes even better (like dancing), and even personal management skill and character-building, like this one. he's really someone to look up to, yamapi.
and i don't know why, his words always come to me when i'm in need of some sort of advice. it has happened twice. the first time was when i was to decide whether or not to continue BA. his quotes: "a man, who doesn't try his best in all that he does, doesn't deserve to be called a man" and his insistence to complete a Bachelor's Degree while pursuing his career as an idol was very encouraging and inspiring. hell, he's already a mega-idol, fame and fortune nicely secured for the next 20 years or so, but he still wants to have this degree. why am i not, then? were some of the things that went through my mind at that time.
and now, this interview come, and he's talking about taking initiatives and aiming for more than whatever he has right now.
i've not blogged about this, but for quite some time i've been troubled between choosing to do the Fashion Incubator programme or going to china to further my studies in chinese, and perhaps business. bel and ning were the only ones to whom i confided in, and they've known my dilemma. the more i talked to them, tho, the more i realised that i've been too close-minded until now, and that things might not always have to be like whatever's been set in front of me.
i've been given the opportunity and privilege of choosing whatever i want to do. and we live only once. if i don't try making a move towards my dream, no matter how ridiculous and pointless and useless my dream might be to other people, when else can i try to reach out to it? i think the saying "the end justifies the means" might be appropriate for this (even though it usually doesn't work for anything else). whatever path that i choose right now, whether or not it's the right path will only be apparent by the result that i get at the end of the road, ne? i'd like to believe that if you stick on to your path long enough, something good will come out of it. i'd like to believe that.
anyway, i was quite touched when i read that interview just now. as i've said, yamapi's words are always inspiring. the man's always striving for something despite his past achievements and current superstar status, and it's really admirable. he's one idol whom i like not because of looks or voice or dancing ability or charms or achievements or talents. of course he has all of those, but most importantly i really admire him because of this, the ability to inspire people by just being honest about himself and what he aspires to be, by just being himself.

obachan, you have to have to HAVE TO watch this!!! xD! HAVE TO!!!!!!!
fast-forward to 3.48 onwards for the part that made me laugh like crazy yesterday.
LOL-ed at the impromptu fanmeeting xD yunho doesn't need to charm his way to win, but well he made the girls happy and the programme more interesting xD

like omg-fans-we-know-that-we-love-him-so-much-but-please-refrain-from-doing-things-that-makes-him-feel-like-he's-an-animal-on-display-or-something kind of heart break... poor joongie can't even buy an umbrella in peace... and the scary thing is that i friggin KNOW that he's buying an umbrella, that's HOW MANY papparrazzi's pics are out there capturing this 'incident'...
i agree with the comments left on this post. i don't have any intention to imply that i want to take dbsk away from their korean fans, it's utterly selfish and not to mention cruel to both dbsk AND cassiopeians. but the fact still remains that there are less pappa-pics when they're in japan. perhaps they would get snapped by one or two mobile phones, i suspect, but the fact that they are rarely ever get leaked onto the net shows that japanese pappa-fans still care, somewhat, about their privacy -___-
really...considering the kind of things they have to put up with, does anyone wonder why i consider yoochun as the most human one out of them? i'm not kidding when i sadi i was being grimly glad when he showed his pissed-off side coz somehow it proves that he still has a human heart, not yet hardened and numbed by the entertainment industry and the hazardous side effect of being mega-famous. perhaps it's also the reason why i felt so, so sad watching jaejoong's reaction in this utterly impossible fancam. joongie looked so wooden, couldn't care less that people are treating him like some kind of animal in the zoo, he's so...emotionless? i don't know, i felt like as though he's turning into some kind of species, a species that is adapted to survive under insane amount of attention and pressure and minimum amount of privacy... and i don't want it! i want them to continue being humans! humans that still can feel emotion that we, fans, give to them, instead of brushing it aside because they've received an overdose of it already! >_<>
professionality aside, they are humans before idols, and they have the rights to basic human rights, which is to be angry when their privacy space is invaded. yes they choose this profession out of their own willingness and the price for fame is hefty, but it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be angry when fans cross over the lines of "do's and don'ts" and treat them like they're some kind of museum exhibition wherever they step onto. they're humans too, for god's sake. we already can have them 24/7 on our laptops, desktops, CDs, DVDs, TVs, can't we allow them a little space and not breathe down their neck whenever they go out and do things like normal guys would, like shopping or walking their dogs???

this is gonna be one LOOOOOOONG read. a Labels: comment, soulmate, tohoshinkipointless essay in which i'm just describing, or trying to describe, the image/essence/character of THSK members in my mind. read at your own risk *winks*
when it comes to decribing how thsk members are, i find myself being able to talk quite easily for everyone, except for soulmates, and more-especially in jaejoong's case. somehow i find myself being unable to justify their image in my head with words. it would always end up in me giving up, or finishing lamely, or sounding like i've finished my description but actually in my head i know that i'm not satisfied about it.
defining my perimeters: about on and off stage -> on stage is like official recording and performance in shows (Music Station, Music Fighter, whatever) and the talk that usually follows, official concerts and concert MCs; off-stage would be footage of making-ofs, personal interviews, or other small clips in which the cameraman just follows them around randomly and they were expected to behave like normally they would, to bring themselves closer to fans and stuff. if idols have 2 sides in them, the on-stage and off-stage personas, and if i were to somewhat categorise them roughly according to percentage it'll be somewhat like this:
junsu is like 50% dorky and 50% serious on and off stage. he's famous for his oyaji-gags and as the gag-maker of the group, but while performing, he exudes such intense manly aura that's the total, total opposite of the dorky side of him. his dorkiness in interviews felt weighted down, like everyone's expecting him to be the clown and he felt responsible to say something funny (which he kinda admitted in interviews ne). but there's the 'off-stage dorky' side of him too, which actually doesn't really show up much unless he's with someone else =P he's a bit awkward if he's alone, and he needs someone to respond to whatever funny thing he's saying so that it becomes really funny. i don't know if it's through his gestures or what, i could imagine junsu as a normal 22-yr old guy who's exceptionally good at singing and dancing, not as an idol or celebrity. there's this awkwardness and humility in him that is sometimes a bit disconcerting; something that is unexpected given his on-stage, mega-idol performing persona. it's really quite awesome. to say it easily, tho, junsu is the cute one, coz it's the cute and funny side of him that's most vivid in my mind xD
yunho's like 30% funny - 70% serious off stage, and 100% serious on stage. yunho has this consistent big-brother character in him, the dependability that never wavers off even when he's being playful, the perfect leader persona! he doesn't let people down and he lived up to expectations, no matter how high it is. when the situation requires him to be funny, he's funny; when the situation calls for respect, he's a rolemodel for courtesy and humility; and almost always he pulls those moments off with gentlemanly charm *_* i can't remember easily the time when he's especially dorky/funny, and, as me and bel had concluded, he doesn't really suit doing the cutesy stuff like in Balloons. his type of funny is more subtle than in-your-face outright ha-ha-ha type; he's really adorable in his own little way, but usually he's funnier when he's not trying to act cute like junsu ^^ but even when he's not doing funny stuff, he's always able to extract squealssmiles coz he's just very, very, extremelysuperdupermuch charming. to sum things easily, yunho is the gentleman one, the one who could put a leash on the other 4 and restrain them a bit from getting too wild xD
changmin is 20% funny - 60% serious - 20% duno-what-to-do off stage, and 20% funny - 80% serious on stage. i don't mean to be mean (pun not intended) when i put that "duno-what-to-do" category, but it's kinda appropriate for changmin. imho, out of the 5, he's the one who actually exudes the least idol-persona: he's too normal (other than the fact that he's really good looking and has awesome voice and happens to be among the 5 gods rising in the east xD). it could be because he's the youngest that he's pretty respectful to the others (though stories from the members themselves showed that he's really quite 'dangerous' off-camera xD). although he's the youngest, he's not the most bulliable character (that charact has been snatched by junsu xD), but often times he DOES act like the youngest of the group, especially when he's laughing so freely in variety shows. he's funny in the witty type, with sharp tongue that really requires junsu to be at the receiving side of it, or yunho to apologise on his behalf =P he's really quite the brat sometimes, especially when he's laughing at his hyungs (although they DO deserve to be laughed at sometimes). to sum things up, tho, he's the sharp one.
dear yoochun is about 60% serious - 40% dorky on stage but 20% serious and 80% dorky off stage. he's always doing little things that caught my eyes, or saying subtly funny things in normal tone and thus making it even more funny, not to mention he's often times the 'assisstant' in junsu's jokes. most of the time it doesn't seem like he's funny, but i could remember laughing at him more than i laugh at the other members. well, other than jaejoong that is xD but, even more than junsu, i feel that he's the natural dork of the group.
the funny thing about yoochun is, he has several sides of him that shows up at different time that i don't really know how to label him. there's the smooth side of him that can sing jazzy-type songs like "My Girlfriend" and making the atmosphere turns into like a chill-out lounge with his voice, then there's the fierce side of him that enables him to do his rapping part in "Rising Sun" and "O" in so much attitude i could see him frowning and scowling through his voice, and then there's the romantic side of him that entrances fans while he's singing "Love By Love" while playing the piano at the same time
there's the sensitive side of him that cries openly in award shows, variety shows and concerts, then there's the casanova side of him that was vouched for by the members (well actually it was changmin who got the first vote, but, once upon a time, jaejoong mentioned about his "sleazy" stare as well xD).
there's the "lazy" side of him that dances in minimum movements unless it's required for him to be on full-force alert level, then there's the side of him that is naturally good at sports with super-fast reaction time that gives all his might in games, and then there's the klutzy side of him that makes the most embarrassing mistake while trying to show off and messes up as badly as jaejoong's mess-ups.
there's the caring side of him that entertains junsu and everyone else's jokes no matter how cold it is and reaches out to give a reassuring touch to them, and then
...there's the human side of him that gets pissed off by a fan clicking on her camera right on his face and retaliates on it. i don't know, he might not seem the most "normal" out of them, but for me he's about the most human, especially because of the very last reason.
like yoochun, jaejoong is a tough one to do. especially for jaejoong, for all that jaejoong is narcisstic and dorky and "ja-im", he's also a klutz in quite an impossible way, making mistakes which (i didn't think) idols would make (unless you belong in johnnys junior, aka the un-debuted ones). i actually find myself laughing at him more than i did for other members, even more than junsu. his manner is so down-to-earth in interviews but would get into mischivieous mood when he's left alone with just the boys and the cameramen. he doesn't show his "motherly" side often but the members talked about it, and there are many pictures out there showing him wiping the tears off members' faces or feeding them food. yunho's the leader but it's quite obvious that jaejoong's kinda the official spokesperson, being positioned right in the middle of the 5 and maneuvering conversations so that members on his left and right would talk, behaving exactly like the hyung of everyone, which he is. but other times he'll be playing rowdy with changmin and getting his kiddy side caught by the camera.
he puts up such cool character and image, only to ruin it to smithereens when he says or does the wrong thing at the wrong time, which he does in alarming frequency. sometimes he'll say really cool things on behalf of the members, and other times he'll be admitting some embarrassing facts while covering his mouth with his hands. i really don't know whether to look at him in the way i do for yamapi, which is full of admiration and high expectations, or sho-kun, which is full of anticipation for failness and awkward moments. i really, really don't know how to categorise him xD
if you've read this far, i congratulate you *applause* you've just finished reading a blog update that has been prepared for 2 whole days, during which i watched several clips (the new vitamin C CM with ueto aya, the Line Up show) and i edited it many times. really, i should honestly try to find something better to occupy myself with. like finish learning all the Hangul consonants and vowels and learn to differentiate the pronounciation between "o" and "eo" -____-

i'm avoiding my lj f-list for tonight coz today's the end of Tohoshinki's Tokyo Dome cons and i'm sure that there are going to be a flood of materials to check out. since i can't sleep too late tonight, i shall avoid it altogether and just check everything in one go tomorrow. Labels: karaoke, tohoshinki
but still i want to say OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =DDD
romiromi64@goo posted some things about the con. i don't understand what she's saying but from what i understood from her pic AND the boys' message, apparently the fans went to surprise the boys by swaying blue lightsicks instead of the official red of Cassiopeia. it's a bit similar to the project that thai fans organised in Bangkok Miroticon =DDD i'm glad the boys like it ^___^
yoochun's being his usual self, making some lame lil comments and sounding dead tired while at it, especially his last "bye bye~~" that sounded like a whisper... otsukareyamasama deshita, minna-sama! now do get a proper rest and a proper summer holiday before embarking on next single which SHOULD be a dance number lol xD
side note: i can't stop wondering WHY the heck is chunnie's hair still as long as it was before bangkok miroticon???? i thought he chopped off about a good 5cm of his locks for the event???? but from the vids and pics, it seemed like his normal The Secret Code Tour hair length 0___0???
sigh, just now i wasn't planning not to go online at all actually, and hany turned off the computer already.............when suddenly stupid bel sms-ed me with this:
"tohoshinki no 1, arashi no 2"
0____0 i guessed that it was oricon singles chart, but really? like, really REALLY??? i mean, this is arashi we're talking about, THE arashi whose Everything single were on the top for the past few days, each day outnumbering tvxq's SBU by many, many thousands!
but it's true 0__0 today singles chart, 5th june 09, has SBU at number 1 at 29,278 and Everything at number 2 at 21,181. it's like the battle of superpowers or something coz the number 3 is at 4,305 copies only. these numbers are taken from oricon daily singles chart http://www.oricon.co.jp/
5th june 09:
1. SBU - 29,278
2. Everything - 21,181
3. tanpopo - 4,305
4th june 09:
1. Everything - 22,750
2. SBU - 12,112
3. tanpopo - 4,822
3rd june 09:
1. Everything - 21,948
2. SBU - 6,935
3. tanpopo - 2,932
2nd june 09:
1. Everything - 42,575
2. SBU - 12,725
3. MW~Dear Mr.& Ms.ピカレスク - 4,013
1st june 09
1. Everything - 86,462
2. SBU - 24,946
3. MW~Dear Mr.& Ms.ピカレスク - 7,756
aaaaand this is the chart for 30th june 09. the numbers are a bit crazy coz i believe they also take into account the preorders for the singles:
1. Everything - 135,053
2. SBU - 94,838
3. 暑中お見舞い申し上げます - 13,446
my conclusion is that: after the tohoshinki tokyo dome cons, people suddenly have this urge to buy Stand By U single or something xD maybe their performance in the dome managed to reach so many more fans =) coz the jump from 12k to 29k is really HUGE... even arashi's everything is a bit plateau-ing at around 21k...
i love Stand By U since the first time the radio rip were leaked out. it's so so soothing, a bit sorrowful but calming and beautiful at the same time... and the accompaniment song, Tea For Two, just completes the whole single. soooo soothing~~~ as usual, great voices, and the way the sang these songs are just awesome. it's truly a single that gives of the soft, relaxing, tranquil feeling =) i hope HMV release the local version or something so that i can grab it here...
Tohoshinki - Tea For Two
Tohoshinki - Stand By U
i've decided. after getting Bolero/Kiss The Baby Sky/Wasurenaide triple A single, i'll be getting this. i just love these 2 songs so much...
btw just now went for another k-ok marathon at top one ktv, this time with bel (i mean vel). we sang from about 11.30 to 6 xDDD manz, i browsed through the ENTIRE 1,300++pages of japanese songs coz their categorising system is pretty bad. i forgot to write review about this place the last time i went there with dira, so here goes:
plusses:
real MVs! that's one of the BIG plus of this place, that they put the REAL MV of the songs instead of some random scenery shots or some random actor/ess acting out questionable-looking scenes =P they have real MVs of all dbsk songs and V6. obachan, i suspect that you'll have a great time there ^_^
i sang some old glay songs which MVs i've never watched prior to my singing with dira there 0_0 really, last time i was a bit extreme in my "listen! no need to watch! if they're good, no matter how they look, they're still good!" policy... luna sea and laruku's older songs are present too, and so were speed and hide and x japan.
free-flow drinks. i never actually cared so much for drinks, but it's nice to know that we can drink however much we want and we can always get replacement =D
disposable mic-cover. k-ok places in indo have this but in sg i seldom encounter places that use mic-covers. i really like the fact that they care about this point coz it might be small but very important; i don't like my lips to touch questionable surfaces like microphones. i develop the habit of putting my thumb on mics while singing so that my lips would touch my thumb instead of the surface of the mic due to this reason.
sufficient database for english, japanese and chinese songs for me to bring a combination of people along =)
really cheap rate. i went from 11 til 5.50pm for 16bucks nett. well in the end me and bel paid a bit more coz we said that there are going to be 3 ppl and she didn't come and we were still charged for 3 ppl -_- the system got something wrong ah... but if not, 16 bucks for nearly 7 hours of singing is pretty awesome.
minuses:
uneven updates. they can have new song like nobody, but they only have dbsk songs up to korean album O, and only 1 of their japanese song. their V6 database stopped at...around the same time i stopped updating myself with V6 which is about feel your breeze time xD no NEWS or KATTUN as much as i'm aware of, i can't even find kinki kids, much less HSJ. they have classic arashi, which is a.ra.shi, lol, but nothing else???
really messy categorising system. not easy to find a song, really.
blooy cold air-cond that can't be turned down. the assisstant was nice enough to bring me and veli some small blankets tho ^^ still, a jacket is essential to survive in that little refrigerator cubicle =p
o yea, learning my lesson from the first topone session with dira, today i brought my cheatsheets, and i even printed an extra set for bel. but in the end she didn't use it so much coz she didn't know the songs pretty well. i think if they finally put mirotic up, she can sing without lyrics perhaps xD i had fun singing rising sun and O. manz, i really learn to appreciate changmin's voice through these 2 songs, coz they are GREAT as stress relievers, i was yelling at the top of my lungs during his parts xDDD i sang those 2 songs twice, once in japanese AND korean each! yea i printed BOTH versions xDDD
anyway. was talking about suju and dbsk with bel just now, in particular comparing shiwon and yunho. both are charming and have obvious gentleman character, but both are also serious and unlikely to be dorks, which is kinda a pity. but anyway i was reminded of our conversation again when i watched this:
yunho might not be the dork in dbsk, but he always manage to make me laugh by being sweet in the really really sincere way =DDD in EHB, too, when he was up with kangin and shiwon, the way he reacted to their attacks were full of genuine admiration, which is really admirable in itself. yappari he's someone whom i really look up to, just like yamapi =)))

*) i'm glad that i'm alone at home and koko's not there to "ssshhh" at me coz i'm laughing at full-blast like a banshee ever 30 seconds or so. Labels: super junior, variety
if i think tegomasu is interesting, NEWS is fun, DBSK is funny and arashi is hilarious, then SuJu must be on the crack level. or perhaps this is just me getting too high after watching the first 7 minutes of SuJu FH.
warning: spoiler for SuJu FH epi 1. and 100% fangirling post.after the short shiwon-heechul moment on bed, the highlights start after they met their homestay-ers. kibum's english is surprisingly good =D he doesn't really curl his words in american-accent way like yoochun, but his words are clear and he has proper sentence struture =D it was funny when they started flipping their phrasebook and asking random question like "what's your room number". and i laughed my head off when heechul just started reading out loud a Q&A conversation by himself, disregarding the fact that he was supposed to be talking TO the girls, not to himself xD
*)
i enjoyed listening to kibum talking english =) but he does have some grammar, or perhaps vocab, difficulties like chun.
does anyone else think that donghae look like ryo-chan? o.O??? coz i do, especially from the side! =D! i'm gonna show him to hany later!
... 13 guys living under one roof = developing a database of random posing to pull off as a joke anytime, anywhere? o.0
i wonder why are there only 6 guys in the end instead of the full number?
oh i also enjoyed heechul giving off the blank look when kibum was talking (english) and then pretended that he understood. and then arguing with anya about pronounciation of DUCK and DARK lol!
*for some weird reason i started commenting in japanese while in the middle of watching... like when eva said they understand hangul, i was like, "sou desu yo. wasurechatta deshou, heechul?" -___- perhaps my subconscious mind is convinced that if I speak japanese, somehow they would also start speaking japanese -___-*
this han-hyung (according to shiwon) is the one who comes from china? =D? duno his name, so for the time being i'll address him like shiwon did.
i like how donghae still tried to stick to his very limited english even though he knew they understood hangul. he's courageous, donghae, it's commendable =)
omg heechul looked so pretty in the pic... i thought he looked like......let me think... i know i've seen that face somewhere.....!!!!!!JOLIN TSAI!!!!!! omg he looked positively like jolin tsai in the dice!!!! O___O!!!!!!! like, HUGE round eyes! jaejoong has HUGE eyes too but not in the kind of doe-eyes like heechul's.
i didn't know what he did to kibum while they were talking about informal language, but it was funny to see his "wtf?" reaction when kibum hit back xD shiwon quickly grabbed his hand --> to prevent him from replying the hit again? =D? at this point i really wish the fansubber had translated the little words that appears on the screen too -__-''' it'll make everything funnier and easier to understand as a whole.
i wasn't laughing when kangin started hitting heechul with donghae's soccer ball tho o.o it's pointless, not to mention kinda mean. oh kangin will i just continue to like you less and less from now? -_- shiwon protecting heechul from kangin's attack is sweet tho =) yappari he does have the gentleman character, ne, shiwon?
lol, heechul vs anya pronounciation battle again xD and shiwon manhandling him to prevent him from getting heated over the argument xD he's an interesting character, heechul =D i duno if compared to the others but he's clearly the clown among the 6 present. i can see his chemistry with anya since the start already xD and definitely his chemistry with shiwon that made lotus_beauty@lj pairing them off in her twilightXdbsk fic *_* he looked like shiwon's man-size teddy bear or something xD and he seemed to have massu/jaejoong's knack of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time xD it's a bit early to say this but i'll say it anyway: heechul, what would you be without shiwon to protect you? xD
*___* yappari i like shiwon *____* "i'm you guys' bodyguard" is charming! coz he shows that he has taken time to think through his introduction that will make it relevant to what he wants to express =) and with that face, it's just a BIG cue to start the catcalling sfx xD anya's reaction is a bit *blah* tho =/ they're obviously not fans. kibum and kangin were just watching shiwon and heechul like they're some kind of movies or something xD
erm. kangin, i still think that junsu is the cutest cow. sheep. whatever. so just get out of the lame costume already. after the earlier antics, hankyung's intro seem a bit boring tame.
after reading anja writing her name in hanja, i wonder how MY chinese name will sound in hangul. nani nani kim? =DDD
not a bad introduction to suju. now to wait for episode 2.
5:26 pm
i started watching Super Junior Full House episode 1 like a few itmes, BUT never stayed long enough to finish watching it for one reason or another. so, before i actually finished watching and started learning their names, let me just archive the first few names that i managed to match with their faces out of SuJu's 13 members: Labels: super junior
1. kangin. the first member whose name i remember, this is all because of that particular episode of Miraculous Victory And Defeat in which he was up against yunho and (i always love emphasise this) yunho showed off his leadership quality by REFUSING to say that he wants to be in SuJu more than DBSK *____*
slide down to 7.55 onwards to watch the highly sensitive "battle" of DBSK vs SuJu xD and watch out for changmin's victorious thumbs up at 9.10 like saying "way to go hyung!!!" as kangin stared disbelievingly at yunho xD
banzai leader-sshi xDDDDD\
2. kibum. one of the fanfics i've read in the comm was about jaesu being runaways and kibum was their younger brother (together with eunhyuk and donghae, so those 2 names are the next that i remembered, but NOT their faces). the next time saw him was in Exploration Human Body, in which i was surprised at how cute he looked o.o like pinchable-sweety type xD
3. shiwon. also because of EHB, in which he was being singularly the most gorgeous, gentlemanly and macho member out of the other 12 =P he has sharp features that categorise him in the good-looking type rather the cute type, and his battle with yunho was really, really, REALLY cool, not to mention his personality that somehow matches yunho himself.
4. heechul. initially i didn't remember, but i think i saw heechul waaaay before i even knew kangin. he was inside a variety show called 8vs1 or something, in which jaejoong and yoochun were also guesting. i didn't remember that i've seen him there, but after watching this Suju FH epi 1 and saw his face and name, i remembered having seen him before.
5. shindong. erm, i don't want to be mean, but it's true that i remembered him because he's extra chubby compared to the rest. before kangin joined his club, that is =p
after those EHB episodes, i also vaguely remembered yesung and eunhyuk, but no i still can't be sure if you ask me to pick out their faces.
4:33 pm
... coz it shows off their vocal power much better than tanabata matsuri, especially their harmonising ability. even though there are only 2 of them instead of 5 like tvxq, it's still really nice to know that in NEWS at least there are 2 who can do it, ne. and whether it's 2 people or 5 people, harmonising always sound awesome and impressive. Labels: comment: song, tegomass, tohoshinki, yoochun, yuuyaan
after about 3 or 4 months of being pampered with listening to 5-voice-harmonising, which resulted in me skipping off practically most of other 'normal' songs, this video clip reminds me again the reason of me getting hooked into NEWS and Tegomasu last year: Tego's voice.
go to 3.45 to listen to them doing Hanamuke LIVE.
i had forgotten how much i liked his voice. his absolute, firm pitching and never-ending end-vibrato xD he has to work on his live singing, but in studio version and mini lives like this, he seldom disappoints me =)
mihsayam@lj was comparing massu's voice with yoochun; she said that both of them has really nice voice but they have to work on their techniques. it's funny that she said that coz yesterday i was playing "compare NEWS and DBSK members" with hany (she got tired fast and asked me to go on playing it by myself but anyway) and i was comparing yoochun and massu at one point too, but for their really sweet smile, not voice xD voice-wise, i really think only tego can match the versatility and expressive-ness of chun's voice =)

firstly, omedetou for massu for his 23rd birthday today!! *pops firecrackers* hopefully you'll continue to shine more in Tegomasu and NEWS and be less "off-frequency" during MC parts, massu xD Labels: massu, tohoshinki
secondly, omedetou for Tohoshinki for your TOKYO DOME CONCERT DEBUT!!!! *pops fireworks*
this is a BIG achievement, to be able to hold a con in Tokyo Dome. after 4 years (or is it 5?) you've finally reached The Dome, guys, congratulations!
from some comm posting, apparently the con wasn't as epic as i expected it to be. mihsayam@lj posted quite a critical feedback about the con and i've kinda lowered down my expectation for this particular concert. it's always interesting to read her post coz she doesn't only post in fangirl mode but also from a rather objective and distant pov, which sometimes becomes food for thought about the idols, their management and their productions.
well it's always repeated over and over again how THSK arrived with a bang in south korea and became superstars almost overnight but when they came to japan they had to start literally from scratch and it humbled them a lot, and this has become the basis of why fans respect them so much, considering how they started in japan and what they have achieved ever since. i guess it's no different for dome productions too, then.
JE has multiple dome performances in a year, considering that they have soooo many groups (and their youngest YOUNGEST group with an average age of 14 has already made a tokyo dome debut!) i guess it's only right that they have so much more experience in producing better productions and deliver what the fans want. i just hope that SM will learn, and learn well, from this pioneer THSK Dome production so that they would be able to deliver better productions next time, something that can match the potential of the guys. if JE, with such quality of their boys, can produce such high-quality productions, why not SM with THE potential of THEIR boys????
a side note. i was watching this, TVXQ vs BIG BANG piano battle of junsu vs tae yang (i googled the name, hehe), and i wonder if in the future SM would invest in 3 grand pianos on stage and let my fave trios, jaechunsu, have a piano each and wow the fans with a piano battle... i'm grateful that they gave yoochun access to piano for his solo and for a group performance in this tour, but jaejoong and junsu each should be entitled to one too =)

at this point of time, let me just say that i'm still not a fan of the whole group, though i admit of really really liking kibum and shiwon because of the EHB episodes i watched yesterday. i used to like kangin, but those EHB epi yesterday just proved that i clash with his personality =p there are simply tooooooo freakin many of them for me to remember their names one by one, but hopefully by this series i will be able to. featuring: Yoshiki
about: Yochan underwent a surgery to correct his spine, a problem that had persisted since 1995, when he finally started to feel numbness in his fingers. the surgery went fine, thank goodness. hopefully he will recover completely and it doesn't affect his piano playing. as for drums...don't forget your neck braces everytime you drums, yochan!
etc: read below xD i've made too many layouts featuring Yoshiki i don't wish to repeat myself =P
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v457/arsenalx/?action=view¤t=ekkusu3.jpg
Featuring: Versailles
Background: formed in 2007 by founding member Kamijo (ex Lareine) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid), they released their debut single Revenant Choir which tells a story about a clan.
Just as like Kamijo's past works, Versailles tells a story through their symphonic metal music and extravagantly elaborate costumes inspired from antique European era.
Members: Kamijo (vocals), Hizaki (guitar), Teru (guitar), Jasmine-You (bass), Yuki (drums)
etc: Versailles beautiful music managed to win my heart totally. saddened by the loss of Jasmine-YOU in 2009, but i hope the 4 of them will still make great music from now onwards. rest in peace, Jasmine-YOU, and watch out for the guys from up there...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/arsenal_x/ekkusu2.1copy.jpg
featuring: S.K.I.N.
Background: Formed in 2007, performed first during Anime Expo at the States in May.
Members: Yoshiki (drums, piano, guitar), Gackt (vocal, piano), Sugizo (guitar, violin), Miyavi (guitar, shamisen)
etc: ekkusu phase 2.0 was lost because i didn't save it in photobucket (because it refused to upload it properly).
and so, from now i'll start my skin from phase .1 instead of .0

Featuring: Hiruma Youichi
Model's background: manga character (Eyeshield 21)
More about the model: quarterback of Deimon Devilbats, The Commander From Hell;
the backbone and the brain behind Deimon High School's American Football Club, The Deimon Devilbats.
Icons: various facial expressions of Hiruma, the maniacal, elven-faced leader of Devilbats ^^
Etc: Eyeshield 21 is a sports manga about American Football and it's one of my current favourite.
My rating for them is:
hilarity 10/10
excitement: 9/10
intellectual level: 9/10
drawing: 7/10
characterisation: 9/10

Featuring: Hayashi Yoshiki
Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,
guitarist, composer of band Violet UK, debut coming soon.
More about the model: Yoshiki in the early X Japan era in early 90's when he still has long curly locks.
Etc: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!

Featuring: Hayashi Yoshiki
Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,
guitarist, composer of band Violet UK, debut coming soon. Born in Tateyama, Chiba (Japan) in 20th November 1965 and currently living in Los Angeles, California (USA).
Head company of Extasy Records, Extasy Japan and Extasy Records International (now defunct). http://myspace.com/yoshiki
More about the model: the faint background picture of Yoshiki was taken in the recent years when he's already cut his hair short and
started the habit of wearing sunglasses.
Icons: pictures taken from Yoshiki's house in LA: his front door, piano in the middle room, dining room and swimming pool.
Etc: I can write essays on Yoshiki, but let's just keep it simple and straightforward: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!
