tomorrow's Halloween! have been waiting for halloween because it's when Versailles' Lyrical Sympathy will be out. i've ordered my copy from a european shop that Marco (a screamingKIAI mate) recommended; they supposedly sell european version which, surprisingly, offers more than even the japanese version, including an extra song (!!) and an extra DVD (!!!) o.O weird huh? eventhough Versailles is a japanese band, the label that signed them is a european label. japanese labels, shame on you to let such a great band wander elsewhere!!
just now colloseum (the online shop) sent me an email saying that they've sent my order through registered airmail. hmmm.. definitely won't be as fast as amazon's fedex, but i'll wait patiently ^^ when marco found out that i've ordered the CD, he gave me a link to download the whole album, coz i've bought the CD anyway, "why wait further?" he said ^^ thanks a million marco!!
but....sendspace is always the one of the most frustrating website to download from, and until now i'm still trying to get past the page that say: #1)"you cannot download more than one at a time" when i'm NOT downloading anything anywhere at anytime; or #2)"sorry, free service is at full capacity"; or #3)"download link has been updated, now you can download the file" which will bring me back to #1 anyway.
the top frustrating website in my list is megaupload which NEVER let me download anything anymore in the past...year? coz they keep saying "all the slots for your country is currently in use". it's like they only provide 1 slot per country like that, geez... (-_-"")
halloween also means that it's week 12 of the semester, which means that it left me only 3 more weeks until assessment time. week 12 also means that it's time for our essay-in-progress presentation for cultural and historical studies. well, i've done my research, but most of the material that i'll present tomorrow will come from my knowledge as a jrock fan for 5 years: the development of visual kei as a fashion trend in japan.
while others are quite stressed about presentation, i'm quite happy about it, coz i'm doing something that is very very close to my heart and i'm happy doing it (eventhough i don't like to present and talk in public). in fact, this semester is the happiest semester for me of all others. my marks at the end of the year might not reflect the best of me, there's even chances that it'll drop quite a lot given the quality of work that i've been doing, but this semester i feel the happiest nevertheless.
duno whether it's because we're doing menswear and i'm finally doing things that i like (Jrock-related theme) or whether it's because of the creative process journal which asks questions that i feel happy answering to, despite some criticism teases that i got (explain further later), or whether this year there are so many things happening in the jrock world and yoshiki frontier that i'm almost always anticipating one thing or another.
like yoshiki said last year, "this is the calm before the storm", and i think the storm is finally here!
regarding the criticism teases that i got while doing CPJ, one of the 10 tasks we're supposed to do within the time span of 1 year was "an image is worth a thousand words. explain", this task was given by jonathan. as CPJ tasks are up to us to interpret and we can do whatever we want, i chose to write a 1000-word essay on an image that is dear to me: the picture of yoshiki and toshi hugging during The Last Live. in the end, i wrote an impromptu 1500-word essay within the time frame of an hour prior to jonathan's class. when i showed him, though, he asked me about what i wrote and i told him, in the shortest and simplest possible way any X Japan fan can tell, the history of X Japan, in particular: the story between yoshiki and toshi since they were 5 years old, the argument prior to The Last Live and what happened until the moment they hugged on stage in front of 55,000 thousands fans.
... and guess what his comments were...?
- "act only is it..." --> about how yoshiki wanted to walk out of stage halfway down The Last Live
- "so petty... petty drummer..." --> about how yoshiki refused to talk to toshi during and prior to The Last Live
- "act only la... who knows they eat cup noodles together at home..." --> about how they didn't talk for 10 long years
- "oh, angry already..." --> about me giving him the hmph-fine-if-you-don't-believe-me look
...
i've met a teacher who is sarcastic, i've met teachers who teases students and make fun of them, i've met teachers who are mean, but i've never actually been the object to all those acts, and i've never met any who's quite like him =/ ANYHOW i won't talk about yoshiki to him anymore *hmph* or perhaps i SHOULD! =P
i like most of my classes this semester too, and i definitely love the timetable. i'm sure 100% to miss this timetable next semester, as well as several teachers whom i don't know if they'll come back next year again or not. *sighs* that's the sad thing about having part time teachers. they're not bonded by contracts and can leave whenever they want to...
this time of the semester, about 2-3 weeks prior to assessment, usually i started to feel sad thinking about the possibility of not seeing some teachers next semester and i feel sad counting down the time left until the last lesson of the semester, which always happened too fast too soon. for teachers, students can be millions upon millions; but for us, students, teachers are one-in-a-millions v_v...
smoga masi bisa diajar ama hideki taon depan, n jonathan too! n smoga taon depan juga dapet peck leng ^_^)v maruknya, pengen guru2 yg gw demen downk, hehe.... yg laen2.... stress mikirinnya, apalagi the chances of diajar ama guru penyakit kayu, adoi... skrg klas yg diajarin dia aja udah kayak apaa gt, kayak gada kelas design, smua jadi kelas presentasi doank, padahal kita kan designer bukan illustrator -_-;;; gw si demenan ma jon yg kritik design bukan kritik presentasi deh, walopun cara presentasi jg penting si...
anyhow~~
what was i trying to say? hmmmm

"hana, a superficial saint, a true pioneer"
there was a time when i had that phrase as my motto, the first few weeks, months, in my life in SA. pretty descriptive of what i was feeling at the time, huh? whether that still holds true even until now, i don't know. juliana was asking me in facebook whether i still keep in contact with SA mates, and the honest answer is: no. but ask me another question whether i still keep in contact with PJ mates, the answer is: yes, though, sadly, not with all of them.
just last week the Jawry mates were in clarke quay celebrating papaya's birthday. it was a bit awkward perhaps, coz it's been about more than 1 year since the last time we met, but with the kind of bond we've had beforehand, it wasn't hard to revert back to the old times conversation. and we already have plans for another outing in early december, this time WITH rene!
if that is so, why am i still regularly wearing "once a saint always a saint" t-shirt?
because SA wasn't all about bad memories. there were a whole load of good memories too, though none beat the kind of fun i've had in PJ under O2 and PubCo. i was reading the draft of email that i wrote on 31st march 2004 to my PubCo mates, that was after the 2nd orientation in PJ which was, i deemed, a great success. i have almost no recollection of what happened in SA orientation, to tell the truth, but i remember vividly the memories of PJ 2nd orientation, especially the last night, the hyper emotion in the auditorium, the super long and super many trains that ran around the audi, the unison unanimous demand for "ENCORE!" of the mass-dance, 3 times in a row(!!), the reluctance to go home afterwards, the reflection at the concourse in the middle of 'fire' (that was really papa tong), the night filled with many roars of laughters and also tears of sadness.
actually i should be glad that SA orientation was scheduled such that I could go back to PJ for their orientation. in fact.... how was it that i could participate in both orientations? and how was it that i could only remember one and not the other...
sometimes your mind works in a rather weird way...
but anyway, that email was one of the most heartfelt email i've written, and all the emotions and memories were in there. i should remind myself to read it more often, coz it boosted my spirits and reminds me of what a great memories i have stored in my heart, i should go back to there and picked a little whenever i'm down =)
i wonder what's happening to the rest of PubCo family? grandad dave was in MI, baby suf was in MJ, mama angie was in JJ, papa tong, monkey shinni, kids yue juan, siew chang, peifen, xin yi were in pj.....
of course i just met uncle drain, auntie papaya and baby joyce last week.
if there's a chance that any O2 people reading this, be it from PubCo, WelCo or the other one (oops, i forgot!), do tag me and tell me how've you been =)

no more no-lunch on wednesday afternoons because of the weekly 'woody sickness'! i finally found an antidote for that irritating sickness, and today he was wearing yellow xDD
penjelasan: ada guru di skul gw yg ga tau knp gw slalu kedapetan klasnya dia tu reboooo mulu, trus more often than not kalo pegi ke kelas dia tu gw jadi bete, stress, sampe mual2 n keilangan napsu makan, dari semester lalu! soale dia tuw ngasi kerjaan ga kira2 banyaknya tapi trus ntar2an pasti ga di cek! kalo dibikin tapi hasilnya ga gitu bagus pasti dianggepnya kyk ga dibikin, trus disuru bikin lagi yg laen lagi yg ga kira2 banyaknya juga, tapi kalo pas ada yg stylenya sama banget kayak yg dia suka dia, tu orang bikin kerjaan dikiiit aja tapi dia demen tu, udah d, kerjaan loe yg segunung dianggep seupil, kerjaan dia yg seupil dianggap segunung, buetteeeeeee buangedddd >.< makanya dari taon lalu makan siang hari rebo gw (kalo pas gw lagi pegi ke kelasnya die) slalu aneh2... kadang es krim doank, kadang minum doank, kadang ikut makan tapi makan seupil... karna itu, mulai skrg gw kasi nama tu 'penyakit' : woody sickness, soale nama gurunya artinya berhubungan dgn kayu xD
but, lo and behold, today i found an antidote to that sickness!
ga pernah nyangka guru yg tadinya ga gt gw pandang (soale ga ada tampang kayak guru si) malah jadi salah satu guru yg paling gw hormatin dan jadi obat gw =D
thank you, dear God, for Jonathan.
update in life: my Catacombs CD just arrived!!! it has JRock Revolution sticker on the envelope =p the bonus exclusive DVD is not much...something that will be uploaded in youtube sooner or later, i guess. yochan sounded....high-pitched-nervous!! i don't know who's the person behind the camera, but yoshiki was much more nervous than normal v_v *hugs yochan* he was speaking english, perhaps that was why he was nervous? i'll be glad to hear him talk comfortably in Japanese anytime....
and, Psyche!! this song wasn't included inside hide BEST psychommunity, the only hide album that i had, and neither was this song very popular, so i've not heard it before ^^ nice to hear your voice again, hidechan! when he's singing seriously, he actually has a very distinct voice, i like it!! (<--when he's singing seriously and not chipmunk-ing around xD)

i was wondering, and had been kept wondering, why the name of the song was "I.V."
it was for ending theme of SAW IV.....................i thought.
but, is yoshiki THAT desperate for commercial value that he named a song after a movie it was supposed to be part in???? i sure hope NOT! yoshiki's songs, heck X Japan songs are worth much more than that!!
then, a beloved screamingKIAI mate, Marco (blind rage), told me some links to youtube for the performance on 18th oct in front of aquacity. from one video came numerous other links for other related stuff, one of them were the news report in which the person kept saying: "yon nin...."
and THEN, it strucked me.....
I.V.
four.
there are only four of them now instead of five.
four.
I.V.
yappari, it's all about hide in the end... deshou ne?
marco told me that they were saying about a performance next year in spring and the release of 3 songs: I.V., Without You (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and another song "nobody knew what it was about" (quoting marco xD)
from the sound of the first 2 songs, i guess this reunification will NOT let go of hide's shadow, definitely not.
(quoting JRock Revolution website):
I’m calling you, dear
Can’t you see me standing right here
Life is bleeding from fear
I’ll give it straight from my vein
...
they may say that this song was ESPECIALLY written for the ending movie.
they may say that this song depicts the movie.
but we, the fans, are entitled to our own opinion!!
and I'll say that:
that lyrics is definitely something that most people would relate to hide.
btw, something to go crazy *temporarily* about:
yoshiki's holding a hide plushie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *screams* they look like each other!!!!!! LOOOOL!!! xDDDDDDDDDDDD *huggles yochan and hide plushie*
and BTW, something NOT to celebrate about, in fact i was making the gagging action and was absolutely apalled (though i haven't even opened the link yet) when i saw THIS:
..............................................don't taint your reputation, yochan, please for the sake of heavens and hide in it..............................
btw i was very tortured when i watched the clip........... hearing his name being mentioned with paris's name in one sentence is enough to make me ARGHHHH, what more having to LISTEN to his words with THAT song at the background>!>!>!>!>!>!>>!>! yochan you're torturing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARAGHHHGHGHHHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
anyway, hany just asked a question: why suddenly without warning they come back again?
and i could just say my guess, my opinion. i said: because yoshiki and toshi had started talking again. i guess, after all that happened, x japan is basically, fundamentally still about the both of them, yochan and toshi-kun... the break up was.... not intended for long anyway... the death of hide just prolonged it even further.
but having said all that, i'm not expecting them to continue to be together more than just for these 3 songs. 10 years is a really long time and the members are all walking in different paths now: toshi with his own solos, pata with his ra:IN, yoshiki with his VioletUK AND S.K.I.N. there could almost be no way to put x japan back together again for permanent.
but for the period of time that they are, WILL be, together, i'm grateful =)
it still felt unreal... this was taken just barely 5 days ago! o.O it iss good to see them together again, truthfully...
10:06 pm
have been thinking about the previous topic over and over again, and i came up with a good reason to support yochan with my head held up high.
one dream that yoshiki had still not achieved is to go international WITH x japan. it's true that he's going international even now, but on his own, and with Violet UK, not with X Japan. 10 years ago x japan didn't manage to break into the US market, and they've even been preparing for it. so, even though hide had passed away now, i think there's still this wish of bringing X Japan up onto the eyes of the world. and nobody can blame him for that. after all, even hide agreed that x japan was, and perhaps still IS, his life.
ganbatte ne, yochan! \(^_^)/ i'll be putting the excerpt of I.V. in my phone and will be using it as my ringtone from now onwards.
by the way for those who want to listen to the new song by X Japan after 10 years disbandment, go here:

update in life: finished mitsubishi project! yesss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! continuing with the final jacket project, one that i WAS anxiously waiting to start (because i've decided on the direction towards which i wanna bring this collection: the jrock and yoshiki's world) but after so many sweat-wrenching projects like topshop and spotlight, my spirits had somewhat dampened. only yesterday when i talked to dira and she said that she will be using gackt as her muse for the jacket collection, that i started feeling enthusiastic again.
i've been thinking on whom i wanna use as my muse. of course the first person to pop in mind was yochan. then again, yochan's style might not be what i've had in mind for my collection. i was thinking along the line of h.Naoto and Yoshiki and h.Naoto don't go hand in hand. yochan was visual (heck he was one of the pioneers in the visual kei world), but he wasn't h.naoto visual. he was 80's western glam-rock visual, then he was yoshiki visual with the long wavy strawberry-blond hair and princess-y jackets and coats (lol, i don't even know who else has style like him during his era!!) then i thought about miyavi, he's freakin cute, but his style is definitely NOT me, a bit too hip hop for my taste. then came gackt and sugizo, and i couldn't decide whom i wanna pick...
BUT, that was BEFORE his latest appearance at Fool's Mate and Shockwave. after those two magz were out, in which yoshiki wore naoto's collection for both photoshoot, i think i'll be back to him (^^)v
finally opening my new CDs: HIZAKI's Maiden Ritual experimental edition, HIZAKI's Dance With Grace, Raphael Kazuki's Fumetsuka, and Within Tempatation's Heart of EVerything. i'm like totally into Hizaki now. that guy's a genius! i can grow addicted to Lunar Eclipse, to his intoxicating guitar solos. though his music is less gothic than i was expecting, and after listening to both CDs i realised that he and Mana don't actually share a common music genre, not as much as i expected anyway, i'm still amazed at him. why, for both CDs he composed ALL the songs, played ALL guitars, ALL basses, ALL keyboards and programming.............. O.O really cool...
of course the choice of vocalists for Dance With Grace was quite *coughs* well, not quite 'questionable' but... anyway, Maiden Ritual was 18 minutes full of the pleasure of listening to hizaki's music, his guitar!! ^___^ and, of course we (pardon the expression) know that later on he found Juka and they made absolutely great songs together! and now he's with kamijo who've, definitely, influenced the songs and bring the Lareine-ish feeling with him, i'm sure Versailles' album will be exceotional!
at any rate, from what i've heard i think hizaki is still developing and revolutionalising his own composition ability. within the 2 CDs themselves, there are songs that sound very different from others, like 'Sister's Sex' that reminds me somewhat of X's sound during their indies era compared to 'Requiem' that is quite gothic (at the introduction anyway ^^) his sound has the potential to continue evolving and it'll be exciting to follow his development. on the other hand, i still know at the back of my mind that i can always rely on Mana for more gothic sound, for the Mana sound ^_^
when will i order Versailles' Lyrical Sympathy and Hizaki's Ruined Kingdom? o.o.... should i get Ruined Kingdom or Dignity of Crest? both of them shared surprisingly many songs! in fact i think inside Ruined Kingdom there are only about 3 or 4 songs that i've not heard... should i still get it? o.O hmm....

my previous entry about this matter, X Japan reuniting for a song for horror flick SAW IV, was truly my honest and humble opinion, the reaction that came from the depth of my heart without ever consulting or discussing the matter with anyone before: i was happy. Labels: yoshiki
why not? SAW IV, though a horror flick (and i dislike horror flicks), is one that (as far as i know) do have a large number of follower even though not hailed as one of the best ones, and it is an internationally acclaimed movie that will bring whoever producing it to the eyes of the world.
i must admit that in the past i do know SAW movies as too gory and many people actually don't like it. in fact, in the past few days when i was announcing to everyone i know that SAW IV is coming soon, i've only met one (and only one) person who was enthusiastic about it: joyce. the rest of the people gave me, sadly, am "eewww" look that says too clearly that they wouldn't think about watching it, much less anticipating its arrival.
i thought that was the only problem with this new development at the yoshiki frontier. and, all too soon i was forcibly shaken back to the reality that x japan's fans are really a bunch of passionate people who held X Japan at the highest regards ever at the eyes of the music world, and some are not the least bit happy to hear that they are coming back to make a song for a commercialised hollywood horror flick...
all too soon, i was reading about the heartfelt disappointment of a fan who, as far as i've known her, would do anything and everything for x japan, for yoshiki, as long as they *he* stays true to music and not for commercial gain or fame.
reading her blog just now felt like stabbing my own heart and my own conscience. it hurts...
i was truly happy, honestly. WAS...truly happy... before reading her blog...
but, i guess i didn't think about everything too seriously.
i am an x japan fan. for me, they are the greatest band, ever, to grace this world. and i believe that The Last Live will always be a legendary concert, to be told and retold all over again with their tragic story that will forever gain them more fans who will regard them forever as heroes.
"it's not wrong to sing the last song, coz forever fades..."
i guess i had never thought about how this new song will put an end to their tragic legend... putting a stop to forever, which would fade....
i'm very confused right now...
i know i was happy when i read the news. and i know why i was happy. but... come to think about it again, is it right for me to be happy?
but...
is keeping a perfect memory intact more important than moving forward in life?
i don't know anymore...
but will other fans?

following up previous post regarding the mention of the song "I.V" by X Japan for the upcoming movie flick SAW IV, JROck Revolution has come up with the official announcement and explanation of why "I.V." will, indeed, be a new song by X Japan, and as what i've previously mentioned and emphasised about X Japan not being X Japan without hide, this song will, as a matter of *freakin shocking* fact features hide-sama. Labels: yoshiki
why, you may ask.
http://www.xjapan.ne.jp/new_c/index.html
and, for those who can't read japanese, be glad that now JRocj Revolution website exist:
http://www.jrockrevolution.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
and for those who are still too lazy to click on the links, basically the explanation is that "I.V." contains another, yet, unreleased material by hide-sama!
*those who are still saying that hide committed suicide, i hope you rot in your sleep tonight!*
and purist fans like me who still demand that X Japan NOT be called X Japan without hide, will rejoice!!
and stupid fans in youtube who are blabbering about incoherent rumours about having more than 10 guitarists as replacement for hide as X Japan reunites: eat that news, man!
update in life:
- 3 hours and counting down before submission date for Spotlight Competition. status: photos unedited! registration form uncollected, unfilled!
- 6 hours and counting down before Mitsubishi project submission. status: 6 uncoloured illustration, no flat drawing, no moodboard.
i think i'm gonna get crazy soon...................................................
thank goodness for this piece of news. truly, i LOVE myspace! and i love yoshiki!!!!!!!!!!!! *brain function slowing down.............*

mood: triumphant, relieved, happy, excited, proud, gastric pain... Labels: school
yeapz, our 3 weeks worth of effort, tears, sweat and blood, which includes 1 week of designing, 1 week of making toile and 1 week (and a half) of making the real garments, had finally paid off!! our creations had been shown off on the runway at Vivocity today!!! eventhough we didn't win any prize, i'm still so so so proud of our work!! banzai everyone and a big hug to all of you who have contributed!! we've shown them we can do it, man!!! ^___________________________^
some things that you don't find out until you've had this kind of runway show/project:
1. not fitting the real final garments to the model before the show will cause extreme anxiety and nervousness that can cause a gastric pain, even if you've never had any gastric problems before!
-> during our past fitting session, we only used our toiles, which was made in a hurry, and after which some designs were changed (dramatically for some) and real fabric was used that differs in nature from original calico and measurements were changed slightly too. just now i was so so so worried that the pants that was going to be worn by model ethel won't fit to her hips and waist. we tried fitting the final garment to several people, joyce, yun ting, mira and ami, and they all can fit into it but with difficulty (and some of these people are like super-small size!). so we released some darts and made the waist part slightly bigger, but STILL we've not tried it on ethel before! the pants problem was dominating my mind all the way from 12 to 3pm... i felt my breath raising til the base of my throat... what if it doesn't fit, what'd we do? what'd we do?!?!?
thank God it fitted her just nice! i was like *whew* thank you God, when i heard that she could wear it...
2. not considering shoes and accessories before the show will also produce anxiety that can match the level of anxiety number 1.
-> we were so preoccupied and was chased down by the deadline to produce the real garments we almost forgotten and neglected the shoes and acessories. of course shoes are really important, and the sizes must be just right lest the models couldn't walk properly due to the shoes being too big or too small. we've prepared some shoes, but, again, we've not tried them on the models before. this was the 2nd thing that bugged me before the show. could our shoes fit them? and, more importantly, would the shoes match the outfit, and would the shoes match the whole collection, or would they ruin the whole look??
3. models have good bodies, but that doesn't mean that they have really small hips/waist/bust!!
-> relates strongly to number 1!!
4. models are nice and friendly people, if you can get over the fact that they're about 20cm taller than you are and can overcome the awkwardness of having to look up to them even when they're not wearing heels!
-> took pictures with model jelena m, and she was very friendly, and after the show we shook hand and thanked model pedro and model fabriano, and they were really friendly too ^__^ and i'm sure the rest of the models are just as friendly too!
5. male models are really dangerous to have around, especially for girls who have boyfriends xD
-> we saw some real cute male models just now, and some we even gave nicknames like 'cruise' (looked like tom cruise), 'hanks' (looked like tom hanks) and 'pitt' (looked like brad pitt) bwahahaha ^^ oh well, we were still sleepy back then (6.30am at vivo!!) and anxiety was building up, so... ^^;;;
6. rehearsals for fashion show includes getting to the place at the brink of the morning (6.30am starts!) and watching the models getting meticulously instructed and strut down the catwalk one by one, withOUT wearing your outfit...
-> wake up real early and thought you wasted your time watching the models while they're not even in your garments? well that's the way it is...
7. supervisors onstage and backstage can be quite dominating...
-> but they get the show run smoothly, so thank you!!
8. it's courtesy not to take pictures backstage when the models are changing, but when it's your first time doing a runway show, you just CAN'T stop taking pics.
-> of course, we always always always remember not to take pics of models who WERE in the middle of getting changed!
9. once you get out of the backstage, it's not easy to get INSIDE again.
-> on the show just now, we got sequence 15. some of our models had to model 3 looks, some 4 and some 5! after we finished dressing them up and it was their turn to walk outside, we rushed out of the backstage area, gathered at the side of the stage and watched them walking out one by one accompanied by the music. they all looked so freakin cool! perhaps it was the music, perhaps it's the lighting, but they really transformed from the 'normal people' they were in the morning into 'models'!! =D and after they've gone back inside, we rushed backstage again, and found that we weren't allowed in!! *oops* haha....
10. at the end of the runway show, if you will surely have a misplaced garment bag, mixed up or missing hangers, especially when it's comprised of a big group like just now.
-> if you didn't mixed any hangers up.... you're good! when we were allowed backstage again, we found that yun ting's hanger for pedro's outfit had been used to hang fabriano's, while some of fabriano's hangers were at pedro's side... luckily we didn't have missing garments or acessories or items ^_^
11. the joy and relief of having finished the show can make you smile from ear to ear throughout your journey home and your eyes see the world as brightly and as clearly as the stars, even when you feel your eyebag growing due to lack of sleep for several weeks...
-> i felt it, but it's not forever. even as i'm typing this now, my eyes felt heavier and heavier.....

so fed up and powerless to do anything about it until i don't even feel like blogging about the way they arrange projects and all, so let's just assume that whatever we're going through now proves just how much the teachers at a certain school (with black school building) needs to manage the time they give for students to do projects and how much communication they should have amongst the members of the faculty, full time and part time, full stop.
new development at Yochan's frontier: according to PanthereNoire's blog (which is backed by credible resources and who has kindly allowed me to link back to her blog and talk about this info) X Japan reunification will be in the form of a new song called "I.V." and it will be featured inside the soundtrack of SAW IV which is coming up this Halloween.
hurray #1: new stuff from Yochan!! after hearing Blue Butterfly, i sure hope it sounds more X Japan than VioletUK... not that i don't like VUK but X Japan is still number 1 for me. and i don't feel like using their name for the new stuff coz... well, X Japan is no longer around, and the remaining members of X Japan are just that: the remaining members of X Japan, coz hide is no longer around... but of course i'm still anxiously waiting for this song, of course!
hurray #2: if what's written on the movie credits is the full credits, seems like that new song is THE theme song for SAW IV! quoting Lionsgate Production Notes:
Music Clearances & Coordination YVONNE MCDONALD
“I.V.”
Performed by X Japan
Written by Yoshiki
Published by Extasy Music and 901 Highland Music
Saw IV Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Available on Artists' Addiction Records
i don't see any other artists though the soundtrack for the movie is already up at HMV Japan listing and i also see Dir en grey (!!!!!!! <3 !!!!!!!) name inside... after Catacombs, it's SAW IV, then coming up is "Repo! The Genetic Opera", it seems like Yochan's a hot item amongst the producers of horror movies, and yochan himself doesn't even like horror movies!! i caught him saying something like 'kowakatta' during Catacombs premiere interview and i remembered him saying that he's scared of horror movies o.O""
hurray #3: now Halloween means: SAW IV (yea i'm gonna watch it even if i don't hear their song inside, just to show support to yochan =p) AND Lyrical Sympathy!!!! yay!!!! (and also means my 'DIE' moment)
randomness: i'll be starting to blog more often (coz i'll be more stressed and pressed to do stuff from now on) and i'll talk later *bleah* i'm so drowsy and i'm seeing stars now but i need to do my mitsubishi research... what the heck are we supposed to be researching?? beats me..... *bleah*

yesterday opened Versailles' Myspace page while at obachan's house and read their announcement that they've finished recording the album. GREAT!! was totally totally excited xDD now just need to go to HMV Japan and order! ^^)v
went to screamingkiai just now and some people posted some links to videos, both contains yochan!
http://imf.com/link_player.html?video_id=2283
this is about JRock Revolution Concert at Wilthern Theatre last May. some short interviews with Yoshiki and the bands. DuelJewel's interview was so cute! Hayato was saying how the fans coreograph some hand movements during their concerts, and (i dunno who the guy beside him, i guess it's natsuki? or is it val?) was acting the movements out, and Hayato was like "i've seen that before, oh i've seen that too.... eh now you're just making it up" lol, his giggle was so cute~! and then after that was Despairs'Ray's turn and they're also so cute! "chotto..suki desu" kyaaaah xD~ <3 i like to hear jrockers giggle =D
anyway, another video is this:
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/bdtv/Player.php?id=1131
i don't know what the heck was that about, though before that someone had posted something about rock musical or something, but i think this one is different. it looks like they were recording the soundtrack of a horror+rock movie (not catacombs!) at Yoshiki's recording studio, and at 3:50 the guy was like saying something like "although this may look like a commercial studio, it's actually a really really kick-ass home studio. this is Yoshiki's place, this is his place." and then they shoot him while sitting down in front of that really long keyboard of his and studying some papers while listening to the song (could only identify him by his silhouette and) and arrow was pointing to him with the words "....evil mastermind Yoshiki" xDD it was so cute ^____^'''
oh well, i'm always glad whenever he has this kind of exposure. it's time he gains more popularity in the US so that he can release his album fast(er) and put an end to my 5-year-long wait for VUK debut album. but, no hurry Yochan, i'm patiently waiting here.
life update: i attended my first practice with the IFC and decided to come again next week. the stupid creditless TOPSHOP project is still not finished but WILL be finished by wednesday, by hook or by crook, and after that hopefully we can catch up with our mounting schoolwork that WILL be included inside our final semester marks. i can't even bring myself to start counting how many things i gotta do, next week is already week 9!! by week 10 we gotta finish the basic jacket toile and submit the Mitsubishi project, week 11 hideki wants to see our design's jacket pattern and toile (when do we start?!?!?!), week 11 and 12 we gotta do our presentation for anja's cultural and historical studies, week 13 we gotta be finishing our design's jacket in real fabric, week 14 finish the 2,500-word essay, week 15 and 16 we just die and fly to heaven.
honestly... if this TOPSHOP project was told to us much earlier, i won't be this pissed off... but even complaining won't do much good now, sheesh... off to work off to work! (-_-''''''''')

prologue: Labels: manga anime
the first time i took notice of the anime was when i saw a single lone character dangling from dira's bag. dira is another indonesian friend of mine from class A, she's also very fanatical about japan and she speaks and read japanese (her mangas are all in japanese!), she's definitely much more fanatical about the manga and anime world than me.
when i asked her about who the character was, she said it's someone from Gintama. my own handphone boasts the handphone chain (and one bookmark!) of more than 3 characters at the moment (Ootori Kyouya from Ouran, Kakashi Hatake from Naruto, Kira aka Yagami Light from Death Note, and a Mokona from Tsubasa Chronicle or Magic Knight Rayearth), it used to go up to more than 5 (including my fave characters from Bleach: Urahara Kisuke, Hitsugaya Toushirou and Byakuya Kuchiki, and additional Abarai Renji who's there just because i happen to have bought him as well). joyce also have many many things on her handphone, currently i think she has chains of: L from Death Note (pairing with me, hers L, mine Light), something from Loveless, something from Anna Sui, and i can't remember what else.
Having used to seeing either-many-or-none handphone and keychains from many people before, it intrigued me to see a single lone character on a bag of someone who's even more fanatical about manga and anime than me! why only one?!?!?! what's so special about this one character???
SO! i wanted to know, what is this Gintama! so i get the anime. i think the fansubber for gintama happened to be the same for bleach? and it so happened that i took a glimpse of the members review and i thought it's gonna be crazy-fun =D
comment:
for those who want to watch something silly and light-hearted and just something to be watched after a long day's work or studies, something rather lame but funny, not something to be pondered deeply about, not something to be getting too excited about, not something with vague and twisting storyline and values-teaching (like clamp's).... watch this anime.
the plot for the story itself is interesting and allows for many (crazy) developments to happen. sometimes it can be really lame and rather annoying (in particular i don't like sacchan and i don't find her amusing but disgusting) but at some unexpected times it can be real cool and touching (kagura and gintoki are my heroes!) and there are some really cute and funny characters parody of some real life samurai heroes (not incidentally, sougou is my favourite character!) and adorable creatures with a twist in their personality (sadaharu's one of the cutest dog i've seen in many animes so far).
for someone who hates shinobuden like mad, i'm surprised that i'm actually liking this anime. i think what attracts me to it is that because i don't need any commitments to watch it, as in no storyline to follow, so i'm actually watching with no expectation, nothing except to watch something to be watched but at the same time the anime itself contains enough cool and funny factor to keep me wanting to watch more (i can't wait for the next time sougou tries to do toushirou in), it definitely something that will let you wanting more!
a bit confusing? ehehehe, it's that kind of anime, you know... like doraemon, you watch it just for fun, for relaxing, for something to be watched while you're waiting for people to come online for meeting, when you're waiting for a download to finish, when you're in the middle of doing a project and feeling a little tired and bored, something little, light and lame but fun to watch.
plot: 7/10 --> they have samurais, they have shinsengumi (and they even have their heroes like the famous okita, hijikata and kondo-san) and they have aliens too...o.O hehe...
main storyline: 5.5/10 --> like almost no basic storyline at all but...
drifting-here-and-there storyline: 8/10 --> like they say: go with the flow~~
characters: 8.5/10 --> coz there are some cute and adorable characters, like sougou, kagura, and of course gintoki v(^^)
total rating: 8/10 -->the combination of the above actually produce some interesting result ^^ haha
updates on life~ have i talked about my new handphone? my old K800i is apparently too sick to be cured, sony ericsson asked for 450bucks for its treatment while i only bought it for 432! so i bought new handphone, its younger sister K810i, at the price of 284 from my bro's line. not much difference, slight changes at the battery cover and camera lens cover and big changes at the keypad, but inner parts are totally the same. i still like my old k800i though... if i can repair it without the hefty 450bucks pricetag, i will.
today's the start of project week, or more like yesterday, and it's supposed to be like the only one and only one week break in the semester. but from the schedule that me, merry and mimi had reviewed just now, seems like we can't even afford to take more than a ONE DAY break! geez!!! they just finished the topshop fitting just now and tomorrow lionel's gonna be meeting the designers. meanwhile i need to get some administrative documents done at the ica and in the afternoon there'll be aplique class. and tomorrow we have to finish doing the jacket toile so that we won't betoo far behind to catch up by week 9. wednesday we have CPJ exhibition that will last dunno for how long and at night me and donat gonna be going for the IFC for our first practice. thursday is gonna be devoted solely for the purpose of finishing jacket toile and friday we will be forcefully committing ourselves for a break. saturday need to go off somewhere for something real important and sunday we need to finish the mitsubishi research and moodboard. it's like
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
not to mention that by 13th the real garment for topshop must already be finished, and our designer jacket project needs to be started too and we have to do our research for the essay for anja and emma's class..............................................................................................................
oh by the way, i've recovered from my 'depression' awhile ago. i was super stressed and felt like running away from everything til the end of the year back then. was feeling down and gloomy and the world just hates me and whatnots (sounds dramatic huh?). after spending a couple of pathetic days waiting for people to sympathise with me when i know that they have their own problems to solve and they can't be always picking me up and pulling me along when i'm down and the only thing i did was to run to tom at the states, THEN i suddenly remembered this phrase by hiruma you-ni:
the difference between a good player, a normal one and a loser is that: a good players always gets back on its feet right away after a setback, a normal player takes sometime to recover but eventually will get back on its feet too, while a loser stays forever down.
or something like that. when i remembered that phrase, my mind snapped back into normal state immediately and i found enough strength to stop running (though i haven't stopped procrastinating, hee...) thank you to murata yuusuke-san and inagaki riichirou-san for creating eyeshield 21 and for including that phrase inside ^^ though hiruma youni was just quoting someone else, it was memorable because he said it while he was watching sena coming back to his feet after a setback =)
eyeshield 21 all the way!! hiruma youni forever!! \(^^)/

featuring: Yoshiki
about: Yochan underwent a surgery to correct his spine, a problem that had persisted since 1995, when he finally started to feel numbness in his fingers. the surgery went fine, thank goodness. hopefully he will recover completely and it doesn't affect his piano playing. as for drums...don't forget your neck braces everytime you drums, yochan!
etc: read below xD i've made too many layouts featuring Yoshiki i don't wish to repeat myself =P
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v457/arsenalx/?action=view¤t=ekkusu3.jpg
Featuring: Versailles
Background: formed in 2007 by founding member Kamijo (ex Lareine) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid), they released their debut single Revenant Choir which tells a story about a clan.
Just as like Kamijo's past works, Versailles tells a story through their symphonic metal music and extravagantly elaborate costumes inspired from antique European era.
Members: Kamijo (vocals), Hizaki (guitar), Teru (guitar), Jasmine-You (bass), Yuki (drums)
etc: Versailles beautiful music managed to win my heart totally. saddened by the loss of Jasmine-YOU in 2009, but i hope the 4 of them will still make great music from now onwards. rest in peace, Jasmine-YOU, and watch out for the guys from up there...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/arsenal_x/ekkusu2.1copy.jpg
featuring: S.K.I.N.
Background: Formed in 2007, performed first during Anime Expo at the States in May.
Members: Yoshiki (drums, piano, guitar), Gackt (vocal, piano), Sugizo (guitar, violin), Miyavi (guitar, shamisen)
etc: ekkusu phase 2.0 was lost because i didn't save it in photobucket (because it refused to upload it properly).
and so, from now i'll start my skin from phase .1 instead of .0

Featuring: Hiruma Youichi
Model's background: manga character (Eyeshield 21)
More about the model: quarterback of Deimon Devilbats, The Commander From Hell;
the backbone and the brain behind Deimon High School's American Football Club, The Deimon Devilbats.
Icons: various facial expressions of Hiruma, the maniacal, elven-faced leader of Devilbats ^^
Etc: Eyeshield 21 is a sports manga about American Football and it's one of my current favourite.
My rating for them is:
hilarity 10/10
excitement: 9/10
intellectual level: 9/10
drawing: 7/10
characterisation: 9/10

Featuring: Hayashi Yoshiki
Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,

More about the model: Yoshiki in the early X Japan era in early 90's when he still has long curly locks.
Etc: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!

Featuring: Hayashi Yoshiki
Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,
guitarist, composer of band Violet UK, debut coming soon. Born in Tateyama, Chiba (Japan) in 20th November 1965 and currently living in Los Angeles, California (USA).
Head company of Extasy Records, Extasy Japan and Extasy Records International (now defunct). http://myspace.com/yoshiki
More about the model: the faint background picture of Yoshiki was taken in the recent years when he's already cut his hair short and
started the habit of wearing sunglasses.
Icons: pictures taken from Yoshiki's house in LA: his front door, piano in the middle room, dining room and swimming pool.
Etc: I can write essays on Yoshiki, but let's just keep it simple and straightforward: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!
