Johnny Depp has a rival in Hong Kong. Japanese movies don't tend to fare too well in that particular market, but the manga adaptation "Death Note" had an impressive opening day that was almost on a par with the latest in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. Starring popular young actor Fujiwara Tatsuya (photo, 24), it pulled in over a million Hong Kong dollars on August 10, far more than any Japanese movie of recent years. And on a per-screen basis it did even better than the Hollywood blockbuster. The success isn't so surprising in light of the fact that the original manga sold over 12 million copies, and the Chinese translation also did well in Hong Kong. Several companies are said to be sniffing around Nippon TV, producers of the project, and a Hollywood remake is definitely on the cards. The movie is the first of two parts, with the second scheduled to open in October. (More about the movie in an earlier story)

Movie sequel "Death Note - The Last Name" had its world premiere in Hong Kong yesterday. Stars Fujiwara Tatsuya (24), Matsuyama Kenichi (21) and Toda Erika (18) were all there to meet some 20,000 fans who held up red apples and lollipops, mimicing a theme from the movie. The young actors were overwhelmed with the huge turnout and enthusiasm of the fans. The first Death Note made over ¥2.8 billion at home during the summer and is also the most successful ever Japanese movie in Hong Kong. It has attracted the attention of dozens of companies, including Hollywood studios, interested in doing a remake. But Fujiwara doesn't seem too happy with the talk about a Hollywood version of the series, saying he'd rather see the original appear on screens worldwide, conceding only "If they have to do a remake, they could at least do it with the same cast." Fans in Japan and Hong Kong can look forward to the opening on November 3, with screenings also set for several other Asian countries. Read our Feature Article on Death Note.

GO FUJIWARA GO!! i absolutely object to the idea of Hollywood remaking the movie too!!! NO WAY!!! long live original Japanese movies!!! Hollywood would just destroy the moviee!!!!!! >.< and i'm not the only one with this sentiment either. someone raised this topic in death note trailer page in youtube and immediately was bashed with objections from other fans. anyway, since they like to dub, as seen by the incredulous number of anime being dubbed into [goodness knows how weird] English, why don't they just DUB the movie into english instead of trying to make a whole new movie?? HOLLYWOOD SHOULD NOT REMAKE DEATH NOTE THE MOVE!!!!! (unless they can keep the original casts of Fujiwara and the rest of the actors/actresses and make them speak English!)
It's lucky 13 for actor and SMAP member Kimura Takuya (33). He's been chosen as Japan's favorite guy for the 13th year in a row by readers of women's magazine an.an. He was way ahead of No.2 choice, singer Fukuyama Masaharu (37). As usual, SMAP dominated the rankings, with Nakai Masahiro (#3), Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (#6), Katori Shingo (#8) and Inagaki Goro (#9) all in the Top 10. Two other Johnny's Jimusho artists and a pair of "ikemen" (handsome) actors completed the ranking.
1. Kimura Takuya
2. Fukuyama Masaharu
3. Nakai Masahiro
4. Okada Junichi
5. Kamenashi Kazuya
6. Kusanagi Tsuyoshi
7. Tsumabuki Satoshi
8. Katori Shingo
9. Inagaki Goro
10.Sakaguchi Kenji

Paris Hilton (25) is staying true to form on her visit to Tokyo. She's been late for every PR event she's attended over the past few days, and was 45 minutes tardy for yesterday's "Samantha Tabatha" promotion in Tokyo's Minami Aoyama. She greeted the 30 fans, chosen by lottery to attend the event, with some basic Japanese. Making her emcee debut for the event was 2006 Miss Universe runner-up Chibana Kurara (photo, 24), who in my opinion easily overshadows the heiress in the looks department. (hana: *nods energetically) The Okinawa native was the highest Japanese finisher in the annual event since Kojima Akiko was crowned in 1959. She also won a prize at the event for best national costume, wearing a version of a Sengoku-jidai samurai outfit that included a slit miniskirt and high heels! (More photos of Chibana here)
The Paris Hilton carnival opened in Tokyo yesterday. The celeb (25) has been in town since Sunday, this time to promote her debut album "Paris" and until yesterday had been on her best behavior. But true to form, she was 30 minutes late for yesterday's press conference, offered no apology or explanation and ended it pretty much on schedule. She then insisted on taking picures with a young female fan who managed to get among the reporters by claiming to be a writer's assistant. A spokesperson for promoters Warner Music Japan said they basically had no control over the event. Hilton appeared at three different events in the capital. Asked for a reaction to her recently announced appearance in next year's Guinness Book of World Records (she was voted least favorite and most overrated celebrity) (hana: *gasps* there are actually sensible and sane voters out there!! long live you all!!!! xD), she said she only cares about what her fans think and has no interst in the opinions of critics and journalists. Her solo album, which goes on sale today, is an eclectic mix including hip hop and reggae, and produced by Scott Storch, who has worked on hits for Beyonce, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg.

alright, another not-so-new news, but this is the first time i saw the official report. have a look at it, yoshiki's writing song for Hollywood movie ^_^
Former X Japan leader Yoshiki is to make his Hollywood debut. He has written the opening music and ending song to the thriller "Catacombs", produced by Gregg Hoffman, the man behind the 2004 horror hit "Saw". Based on a true story about the youth parties in the catacombs beneath 14th century Paris, it stars Shannyn Sossamon. "I don't usually like scary movies, but the artistry of this project appealed to me," said the L.A.-based former X Japan drummer and pianist. He has worked on movies in the past, such as the anime "X" and the South Korean film "Boku no Kanojo wo Shokai Shimasu", but this is his first truly international project. The ending theme, "Blue Butterfly", is sung by Nina, an American vocalist with Yoshiki's band Violet UK. The unit has been around for several years, but planned projects - including a debut album scheduled for release a year ago - have yet to come to fruition.

by the way, Catacombs the movie will be out like next year, and (even though i'm not a fan of horror movies, not at all) i'll be catching it!!!! and, PINK's starring in it too =)

aka Perfect Girl Evolution aka My Fair Lady. translated roughly from the original title, it means roughly: 7 steps towards a perfect lady. Labels: manga anime
this is one shoujo manga that i'm following currently, and i'd say it's pretty fun, and funny, though not so crazy to the extent of Ouran perhaps. what made me feel very connected to this manga is perhaps the mangaka's (Hayakawa Tomoko) obsession towards one JRocker: Kiyoharu. okay i admit that i only heard of Kiyoharu once or twice before she spoke of him, but me, too, is obsessed with the JRock world, and that's what makes me feel connected to her. especially since sometimes the feeling in her manga just feel very gothic and sometimes she draw her characters cosplaying, and i love her clothes too, i like most of the clothes that she draw, some of them are gothic-elegant, some are simply pretty, sometimes it's weird too but, o well ^^
so, i just watched the first anime episode of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, and my first comment is: Hayakawa's obsession is being translated quite clearly in the anime ^^ look at the opening and ending song, both are Kiyoharu's (hey i'm getting pretty good at noticing Kiyoharu's voice! am i good or what ^^) and the short music background throughout the anime consists of: some really JRock music (dunno from what song) and, get this, Bach's Toccata and Fugue! =D it feels VERY Mana!! you know, all those pipe organ sound, very gothic! really feels very Hayakawa.
even then, i still think the manga conveys her expression better. in the anime, sunako doesn't feel as DARK and MENACING as in the manga. perhaps because of the voice actress, whose voice is just cute ^^ i was expecting sunako's voice to be more alto-ish, coz she's supposed to be cool and cold, but turned out that her voice is quite high-pitched =P o well... my advice is: read the manga first before watching the anime, coz if you watch the anime straight you might feel that sunako (or the guys) are overreacting or something. if you read the manga first, you'll understand pretty clearly (or clearer) why they behaved like they did ^^ banzai Hayakawa!!!! ^^

youtube is great, it can keep me entertained for days! xD this is video which dated, i think, back in the early 90s, when Yoshiki still has that kind of hairstyle. it was funny, but not too hilariously so, i was just amazed at the audience, goodness they almost raped him!
somehow, i see more resemblance of yoshiki on gackt... yoshiki's popularity THEN perhaps can only be compared to gackt's NOW =P

Happy birthday to you~
Happy birthday to you~
Happy birthday to dear Yoshiki~~~~~~~~~
Happy birthday dear Yochan~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*claps claps claps*
soo!!! it's TODAY that my beloved idol tured 41. he had lived and survived his darkest time, maybe not yet able to conquer all of his fears and sadness, but he had moved on, and no matter what he said about becoming stronger because of us, fans, the fact remains that he's becoming stronger FOR us, fans. thank you, Yoshiki, for living and moving on and for inspiring so many of us not to give up and to survive! *sends BIG HUGZ to Yochan*
i can understand perfectly why many fans chose to thanked him instead of asking him questions when they were given the chance to talk to him, for that will be the very first thing that i'll tell him, too, if i meet him. and i WILL meet him, that is one of my goals in life! if minghui could meet her jerry yan, I CAN MEET MY YOSHIKI!
so, time to head over to myspace to give Yochan the big surprise ^^

this, is, truly, one of the FUNNIEST gackt video i've watched in the past few years. and he's so bloody good-looking here! honestly, i don't like it when his hair was too short. i think he looked gorgeous with long hair (malice mizer era) and medium-long hair (this vid). and expecting mothers better watch this vid many times and pray that their daughters' eyes are like him, for gackt has -THE- most beautiful pair of eyes i've ever seen in anyone, ever!
*giggles* this is ONE game that Yochan will NEVER, ever, ever, win. xDDDDDDDDDD Gackt was -THE- ice king (ice queen perhaps Mana? ^^;;;;;;;) so i wouldn't be surprised if he wins (in fact i will be surprised if he didn't win) but Yochan??? he giggles like every so often =DDDDDDD they compliment each other, Yochan and Gacchan...
highlight of the show: when he was pumping air into his cheeks and made them look like puffer fish in like oh-so-heavenly-cute kind of way, and the fans actually voiced out their feelings and made him smile; when he was laughing at the first guy, i LOVE his laughter!; at the 19:20 minute, when he was sniffing that bottle, THAT was CUTE!!!! THAT was BLOODY CUTE!!!!!!!! he looked VERY human at that moment, like SOOOOOO cute!!!! xDDDDDDD THAT was my favourite expression of Gackt =DDDDD and this video is ranked at number 2 my fave gackt video ever because of that particular moment /(^,^) / of btw the current number 1 position is Domoto Kyoudai episode featuring Shingo Mama ^^ and number 3 is Hey! Hey! Hey! food version featuring Yoshiki AND Gackt ^^
oh my goodness, i'm sounding like a typical gackt only-cares-about-his-heavenly-good-looking-looks-and-nothing-else-fangirls whom i despise! >_< control yourself hana! you must be one of the respectable gackt fangirls around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and, before this i was saying that i wasn't really looking forward to yoshiki-gackt collaboration? coz i thought that VUK will get delayed even more because of it? i changed my mind completely. I WANT TO SEE THEIR WORK TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING IT ON, YOCHAN, GACCHAN!!!!!!! =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
11:24 pm
so here goes the rest of the article:
Once upon a time this musical giant was shaken to his very core by the death of his bandmate and best friend, hide. So much to the point, he admitted at the panel, that for years he denied requests for interviews and contemplated never performing again. He was so depressed he wanted nothing to do with being in the public eye. It wasn't until November 1999 when Yoshiki appeared onstage again. He was asked to perform at a festival by his majesty Emperor Akihito to celebrate 10 years of enthronement. "What am I going to say? No?" With honor, he masterfully composed and performed the aptly titled piano concerto "Anniversary" and it was then he realised his musical legacy needed to continue.
All too soon, Yoshiki's panel time was up. Even though he had an interview with "Iron Otaku Radio" at 1:00 pm, a line of approximately 200-500 people had already formed for Yoshiki's autograph session at 2:00 pm! When everything was said and done, there were over 1,000 people in line!
"In all honesty, my heart was racing so bad that I thought it was going to pop out of my chest!" said Jennifer Kime of Louisville, Kentucky.
Once allowed into the room, fans were greeted by Yoshiki sitting at a table accompanied by his entourage. Tofu Records was selling copies of The Last Live and X (Japan) Best DVDs while also playing The Last Live on a television so those in line could watch while waiting. Yoshiki took the time to personalize and date every autograph.
"Yoshiki all in all was a very nice person and was very caring of his fans," said Heather Hudson of Powder Springs, Georgia. "I can't remember much of what happened, seeing as I was on cloud nine and couldn't really think straight! I don't think he realised just how many people came across country (and maybe more) just to meet him."
"I was THE last person to get an autograph," stated Catherine Martinoff of Allegan, Michigan. "Once I was done and got my pass back, I was literally skipping and dancing around the room I was so happy!"
Yoshiki ended up staying approximately two hours longer than scheduled in order to sign as many autographs as possible. Even then, he still was only able to get through less than half of the line. Not wanting to disappoint his fans, Yoshiki walked down the entire line and shook everyone's hands and thanked them for coming!
"My friend and I cried in each other's arms after that," said Corinne Olsen of Shirley, New York, after shaking Yoshiki's hand. "Yoshiki is truly one of the sweetest person EVER. He really cares about his fans, and is so nice and down-to-earth. In meeting him, I not only completed one of my life goals, but I have a renewed passion for performing my music."
August 5, 2006 was truly a monumental day in the history of J-Rock. Yoshiki made many fans' dreams come true, and those in attendance were extremely lucky to have such an amazing experience. Best of all... he promised to return!
-----The End-----
11:09 pm
continuation of Yoshiki's article in JANIME:
The mood quickly changed, however, when the moderator walked on stage and grabbed the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's an honour and a privilege for me to introduce to you... YOSHIKI!" The crowd roared and applauded; many fans stood on their chairs anticipating his entrance. At long last the legend himself emerged, and confidently walked up to the stage wearing a white jacet, trademark black sunglasses, blue jeans and an enormous smile.
The crowd exploded at the sight of the superstar. It took minutes before Yoshiki was able to get his first words in. "Hi... what's up?" he said. [hana: *giggles* it's sooo Yoshiki! ^^ the first few words he uttred during the concert was also, "Konbanwa... eto...." ^^] Once again, the crowd roared with delight.
"You better be careful. You might conquer the world," the moderator noted.
Yoshiki replied with a big grin, "I'd love to!"
[hana: if i'm there maybe i'd be so immensely jealous of the mod and began hating her for talking so easily to Yochan =P]
The panel began with the moderator asking Yoshiki several questions. When the crowd was asked to form an orderly line so they would have a chance to ask Yoshiki a question, fans begun to run to the aisle. The line got so long they had to ask everyone to go back to their seats. Question qould be chosen the old-fashioned way: by fans raising their hand for Yoshiki to select. Yoshiki just continued to smile shyly.
The most intriguing part of the panel came with a strange queston from a fan. "What are your plans after Violet UK?"
"What? Like after we break up? We haven't even started yet!" Yoshiki jokingly responded. He then turned to someone and seemed to whisper, should I tell them? "I'm starting a band. Violet UK is the main thing, but well, I'll be working with another musician. Maybe you've heard of him, Gackt?" The crowd went absolutely insane. Two music industry powerhouses, Gackt and Yoshiki, will be collaborating and the first official announcement was being made in the US!
Another interesting story was told by Yoshiki involving Michael Jackson. It seems that the King of Pop and Yoshiki had a chance to meet while in Japan. Yoshiki, who has tendonitits, wears wrist splints quite often when he's not playing. Michael Jackson approached Yoshiki and asked if could have the pair he was wearing. Yoshiki tried to explain that they were for medical use and had no real ties to fasion. However, Michael Jackson insisted on owning them. One can only guess what it's like to have a personal souvenir from meeting the fellow musician and X Japan founder. Yoshiki said that he gave them to Jackson.
Although much attention was paid to his words, the feeling on the room was more of an incredulous awe. He could have jumped on the mic and talked gibberish for an hour. It wouldn't have mattered. [hana: lol, i can understand that perfectly!!] The atmosphere was absolutely electric! Fans were simply ecstatic he was so close to them. When given the opportunity to speak, many fans simply told him how thankful they were he was actually there. But it was a promise from his lips that raised the spirits and hopes of his fans. A fan stated, "Yoshiki, when Violet UK is ready, please play for us in the states."
He replied with, "I will... I promise."
erghhh i need to go off again >.< sheesh i always got disturbed when writing this...
12:41 pm
when i bought the X Clamp OST II for Hany, the shopowner also included a tabloid into my plastic bag which, upon first glimpse, contains news about manga and anime. unbeknownst to me, the tabloid also covered the OTAKON news! and some of you might remember that YOSHIKI WENT TO OTAKON IN BALTIMORE THIS YEAR!!! and i didn't see that thing properly until TODAY!!
imagine my shock when, upon flattening the tabloid cover page (it looked like newpaper the newspaper) i read: "JAPANESQUE ROCK FILE. this month we're comin' at ya with a quadruple-play!! Reports on Yoshiki (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and MUCC, and words from 12012 and imitation Pops Uchuu Sentai NOIZ inside!"
i mean, this is me, hana, who'd ALWAYS spare a time, whenever she's in Kinokuniya or HMV, to take a look at the japanese magazine section and scan through the cover page of all j-music related magazine for yoshiki-related or x-related articles, and this tabloid had been sitting on her table for DAYS or WEEKS and it's UNOPENED!!!! what other words could describe me other than SLOW???? >.<
anyway, i'm very hyper-ly happy now, so i shall quote the whole entire article here ^^ everything should be credited to Janime!! here goes:
YOSHIKI
The premiere icon of J-Rock has returned!
Yoshiki, founder of X (later changed to X Japan) and one of the most influential rock personalties in Japan's history, was this year's guest of honor at Otakin 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland. report by: Alan Bowden
profile
- Born of the Tokyo underground scene, Yoshiki was drummer, pianist, songwriter and producer of X Japan; the band that started the explosive "visual kei" rock scene and whose meteoric success was unstoppable. He has also produced some influential bands in Japan including GLAY and Dir en Grey.
- After the death of beloved X Japan guitarist hide in 1998, Yoshiki remained in seclusion until asked to compose an orchestral piece/piano concerto to commemorate the Japanese Emperor's 10th anniversary of reign.
- Yoshiki composed two orchestral albums to great critical acclaim and was asked to write the theme for the 2005 World Expo. Over 100 of the best musicians from around the world were conducted by Yoshiki at the opening ceremony.
- His latest project "Violet UK" has been evolving for over a decade and transcends musical boundaries, blurring the edges between fashion, music, sex, technology and underground culture.
In a testament to the reclusive superstar's ability to draw a crowd, fans had begun to assemble at 8.30am for a panel that wasn't scheduled to begin until noon! The line continued to grow as morning passed, and when the clock strucked noon a palpable wave of anticipation filled the room.
Thousands of assembled fans began to chant the chorus of "Endless Rain" as they waited intently for the J-Rock legend to arrive. Jim Vowles (Con-Chairman for Otakon 2006) took the mic and said, "I bet you didn't know Yoshiki was a tall blonde man, did ya? [hana: what the...? is that supposed to be a joke??? coz it's lame!! who the hell wouldn't KNOW that??] Yoshiki is running a little late. He's a rock star...what do you expect?! Before we bring him out, though, Yoshiki has an unreleased video he wants to show you guys." The special video, which spanned Yoshiki's entire career and achievements, included a live footage of X Japan, Violet UK, and quotes from celebrities such as legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin as well as members of KISS. Near the end, came the inevitable moment that brought many in the audience to tears: the CNN news report about the death of beloved X guitarist, hide.
eh, my bro off the light liao... sheesh.... i'll continue tomorrow T_T;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

hee, today's last day of O's, so can give hany the much-too-early birthday present. when joyce brought me to sunshine plaza to visit those shops selling loads of anime stuff last week, i saw these 2 CDs in 2 different shops. the X OST II contained several songs which i really admire, namely The Last Battle and Secret Sorrow, so i bought it. then the shop-owner said the first CD is out of print, so fearing that i'll never see it being sold anywhere anymore, i bought the first CD too, from the other shop, though none of the songs there registered anything in my mind ^^
X Clamp soundtrack is the first and only one soundtrack that makes me wanna watch the anime, not the opposite. for all the other animes, i'm not the least bit interested in the songs before i watch the anime, but special case for X Clamp, it's the other way round: after i heard the songs THEN i want to watch the anime (again). the songs are really that good O.O
of course, i've watched X Clamp the anime some years back, but that time (after finding out the Forever Love is the soundtrack for X the MOVIE, not the anime series) i wasn't really interested. but after hearing the songs like last few months or so, i'm really interested to watch again ^^ and soon, i'll be able to do that. thank you anime-eden!! /(^.^) /

sometimes i just wonder how people could afford to be so irresponsible and have the nerve to trouble other people just for their own gain.... it's like, i would rather NOT have studied if i need to trouble other people for it, i'd rather BUY the book instead of borrowing other people's just on the day BEFORE the SAME exam at all... i'd rather have ME sufer instead of letting others suffer, even if that person seem to be so smart that she doesn't need to study it or use it in any way, stillthe book is hers and the exam is on the same day and i'd be depriving her off her chance to study it when i borrow it.... i just will never have a fleeting thought of borrowing that book from her, even if i need it very much, coz her priority is as important as mine.... i just won't have the nerve to trouble her that much....
i won't talk about it.... i won't even comment on it anymore.... i'm juts so speechless, i won't tlk about it......
learn from past mistake and DON'T DO IT EVER AGAIN!

okay i've decided that my next layout will be themed "yoshiki symphonic 2002"
so just now i was watching the DVD again, and man, that still sends shivers down my spine. The Last Song sounds so different from The Last Live version, but of course, this time there's no Toshi who sang, no Pata hide and Heath to accompany the song, only the orchestra and Yoshiki's piano, which was even different from The Last live version..
and i just love it when he finished playing and the whole forum hall started screaming his name and he said, 'konbanwa'.....(more screaming)..... 'eto..' ...........(still more screaming, and someone said something and yoshiki said) 'eh?'
^____________________^ kawaiiiiiiii~~~~~~~~~it's like the first 3 things that he said was: konbanwa, eto, eh? xDDDDDDDD i fully understand (not to mention agree wholeheartedly) when Liz (in myspace) declares that yoshiki's got the cutest giggle ever xDDDDDDDDD
okay enough. i shall focus my attention more on the softwares that i need to get in order to make my layout.
oh nat, i got news for you! someone in my board at ScreamingKiai managed to extract the songs from Yoshiki SYmphonic 2002 DVD, and now i have the mp3 version of Nicole's I'll Be Your Love english version ^^ want it? want it? want it? ^^

i'm thinking of changing my layout. problem is, the dimension of skin that i should be making. for the past 2 layouts i made them with monitor of standard size 17", bt now i have 19" monitor and i'm scared if i make according to this size, it'll be too big for some other comps and resulting in many scroll-bars, which is really ugly and irritating >.< anyone can help me solve this problem? is possible this time i just wanna make a header image and navigation bar at the side, with position that's not absolute, like original blogspot skins. but i don't know how to...coz i learnt my layout-making skill by reading other layouts' html, and out of those that i've read, none are not absolute v.v
or should i just hop onto blogskins.com and grab one of those amazing skins and use it...? i found one really nice, of Death Note =D but then i would've to change my address to deathnotefanatic.blogspot.com perhaps =P

this morning i was visiting The Lost Path of Time, thinking of comitting suicide, when i met 2 people there: a lvl 77 chief bandit and a lvl 68 ice-wiz called ItRawus. it was very rare to find people training there, so i was fascinated by them. after going around watching them killing the big ghost teddy bears, the ice-wiz asked me, 'can pt me?' and i said, 'can, but i'm not planning to live'
so then the chiefdit added me to party and i went around following itrawus healing her while she kill those big teddy bear ghosts. after sometime she asked me, 'malaysian?' and i said, 'spore'. 'what's your age?' '20,' i said, and she said 'same' heee, found another 20-year-old mapler.
then after some other small talks, including the discussion on why i wanted to kill myself and the reason why she's hunting those ghosts (for quest), the chiefdit suddenly asked, 'loe brp?'
xD i put on a smile immediately and said, 'indonesian?'
then she said, 'ya'
and i said, 'sama donk'
imagine our surprise, meeting fellow indonesian mapler who's studying in spore at 3 o'clock in the morning xD
then she was saying like, 'pantesan baek bener. org spore mah ga segitu baek, makanya gw langsung nanya malaysian bukan? ga taunya org indo' xD
but at that time my bro was protesting that i should sleep (the sound of the keyboard distracted him a lot) so i gotta say bye bye ;____________________; what a wasted chance, huh? the first time i met another indonesian after i met that guy in Maple Beta about 3 years ago v.v
will look for you again, ItRawus! =D

what a fun day, i was really de-stressing myself today. today's outing supposed to be with many girls, we've talked about it when we were waiting for our assessment to be done and all the girls said they'd want to have an outing. but when i contacted them yesterday, only 4 people could make it. 2 never replied my sms at all (tuna, jiajia), 2 had something on (debby, sniffy) and hidayah's sick and her parents wouldn't let her out til 3. so in the end only me, joyce, merry and mira went for the planned ladies night kbox-ing.
we planned to meet at 6 in heeren, but due to rain and traffic jam i reached at 6.30. since we were at heeren, we went to take neoprint. had great fun with the machine, we did all sorts of funny poses like ugly face, blur face, act cute face and so on xD and we also decorated them with great energy (aka: hyper and filled with many weird and funny icons xD) will upload the neoprints soon ^^ me and joyce bought a bag of marshmallow afterwards, heehee.
then we went to cineleisure. saw koko there O.o he was with his JC mates, grace and marcus and 1 more person i didn't see, and they were going to watch Death Note =D joyce kept saying afterwards that she wanted to re-watch death note again =P ate at the 5th floor or something, i can't remember the shop's name but it's japanese and was really nice. i ate 4.90 worth of bento set which consisted of rice, seasoned baby octopus, tori karaage, several slices of watermelon and miso soup. i'd say it's a really good deal =)
after eating we went downstairs again to visit a booth that sells many anime/manga stuff. what attracted me and joyce at first was the 25cm-tall mocona and death note book. upon closer inspection, they sell more than that! there were solar keychains of many anime, which includes death note and this time joyce could find her beloved L's face xD they also sells figurines and shirts and other anime-related stuff. the guy who was manning the booth was cosplaying as kyouraku-taichou of 8th division 13 gotei, cool~ i almost bought the death note, which contained the instructions of how to use AND, supposedly, Light's handwriting of the names of the people that he had killed, which consisted of all the FBI agents in japan under L at that time. i'd say it's pretty cool, but the price was a bit high, and the quality wasn't too good, as in it's not really durable v,v after several times opening and closing and using, the pages would come off, so it's kinda sad v.v
soon after, we went to the kbox, that should be around 8++pm. we sang ALL the way til 3 hahahaha, it was so fun! unlike the last time when i went kbox with sniffy and joyce and correen, during which i was forced to endure one-too-many chinese songs which i don't understand at all and after so many times the video clips weren't even enough to keep me entertained, this time we sang mostly english songs ^^ and, mind you, even though the majority were indonesians, we tried to keep talking in civil tongue, aka english language. there were occassional bursts of indonesians, of course, but we kept it as minimum as possible ^^
now as i was saying, this time the number of chinese singers and english singers were somewhat more balanced than that time. merry, mira and me of course sang mostly english songs, and joyce were more knowledgable about chinese songs. but mira and merry know a good deal about chinese songs too, though mira can't sing, merry sometimes joined along joyce in singing. and of course me being there means that there MUST be a couple or more japanese songs being sung.
the biggest news (for me) of the night is that: if you search carefully at the kanji-ed area, they actually have more than just ayumi or smap or kinki kids or larc-en-ciel or glay there, i actually found Gackt's song Wasurenai Kara, and another big news: kbox actually DO have original japanese PV for some songs, and the most surprising thing is that: gackt's Wasurenai Kara was in original PV!!!!!! O.O imagine my ecstasy when i watch it!!!! xDDDDDDDDDDDD joyce is a fan of gackt too btw, and mira was saying that her 3rd sis is a BIG fan of gackt. wheeeee so fun! xD
mira and i sang hikki's First Love too, but it's not really a duet, more like a collaboration. mira, of course, has the voice power to sing the song, but she couldn't remember fully the whole lyrics. therefore me, with no voice power to sing that incredulously difficult-to-be-sung song, but with the ability to read the lyrics, were providing her with the lyrics as she sang. it was really remarkable how she did it. i was just reading the hiragana-katakana words to her as the song progress and she could just sing smoothly, having just heard how the next line supposed to be sung just moments before. quite amazing, mira O.O
tonight's kboxing was really hyper, in my opinion, and because of that i was totally awake and not sleepy at all til 3. merry contributed a lot to the energetic atmoshphere coz she's not afraid to scream and sing loudly and so i have a screaming-company when singing one of those high-pitched songs xD to be singing those kind of songs is one thing and to be singing it with someone who's willing to scream and shout and be crazy with you is another thing ^^ it was really fun!
oh, cineleisure still have one of those gigantic death note poster, one that is my desktop wallpaper now, and joyce took picture with her beloved L. and did 1 pose of kissing him xD then before we left, she and i took another picture but this time BOTH of us were kissing L xDDDDD i teased her by saying that 'i'm closer to his lips!' XDDDDDDDDDDD LOL upload pics later.
merry's bf told her to go home fast and she was telling us how he told her of many scary rape-case stories. she scared me out of going home with nightrider!! i was planning to save money by going home with nightrider, which would cost me around 3 bucks, and because of her stories i took cab in the end v.v o well, it was still such a fun night! we plan the next outing to be eating at Hanamasa, the table bbq/steamboat restaurant ^^ dunno when we can make it, but hopefully before i go back home~
oh btw nat, nada sousou gw juga ga tau ada movienya v,v makanya gw bilang knapa loe ga kasi tau gw ada movienya >.< dunno how to get also leh....

what's the feeling of freedom? for one, it's: pain. my arm, especially right arm and wrist, and also my waist, is painful and tense now due to the fact that i just dragged 15-20kg worth of drawings, notes, sewing cloths, paper patterns and all other stuff to school for assessment. i purposely put them inside one of my luggage which has wheels and can be dragged around, but that stupid luggage's handle is broken! so in the end i have to slightly bend to drag it around, and after sometime my waist was painful >.< urgh!! thank goodness for taxis! if i have to drag that stupid thing around to bus stop and up and down the bus, i'll faint!
another feelings of freedom is: drowsiness. almost everyone in my class didn't sleep last night while preparing our stuff, and just now as our stuff was being assessed and we were in the sewing room chatting, people slept and some talked while getting sleepy bit by bit. and while on the taxi on the journey home, i slept without knowing it o.O but what a waste of freedom time by sleeping xD
and of course, the most important feeling is: triumphant! =D as like, NO MORE SCHOOL TIL JANUARY!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD the first thing that i did after reaching home just now was: to turn on Bleach soundtrack Houki Boshi and Life and sang loudly along with them, both the full version as well as the karaoke version. what a glorious feeling!! =D
now to pass on the spirit to everyone else! MINNA SAN GANBATTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT!~~~~~
sekarang gw mo plan hadiah ultah buat joyce ^^ rencananya si mo bikin handphone stand bentuk orang lagi jongkok trus ntar gw pasang badge yg ada mukanya L disana, jadi kayak L beneran, that girl's crazy about him ^^ smoga bisa smoga bisa~

and still a 10-hour worth of work to be done arrgrhhhhrhggrhrhhrhrhhrhrhrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*nauseated*
it's been so long since i was stressed til i feel like vomiting. in the past years, it was always during PE lessons, especially when it's nearing NAPFA test. just ask yessichan how many times i emerged from the toilet (after changing clothes) with pale face and fits of cough-preceding-vomiting >.< hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee vomiting!!!!
i'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo screwed up!!! oh heck, i'll manage. i'll figure things out.
oh by the way, after watching shaman king i just realised that Yoh and i share really similar kind of view towards life and its problems. it's simply like, no matter what's the problem, i'll pull through it, though the manner in which i pull through it may be good or not good. it's something like, 'i'll figure something out' in the face of problem. oh yes i do a lot of whining and complaining and apprehensive attitude too, but in the end, i WILL pull through it. like Yoh, eh? ^^ i wanna get shaman kinggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!! right after inuyasha, that is. i love anime-eden!!!!! ^_____________________________________________________^
arrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 5 more hours to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

studying is stressful, huh? if you need a break and wants to do a little simple easy game with nice cute graphic and soothing calming background music, i highly recommend Ferry Halim's page at http://orisinal.com or http://www.ferryhalim.com, especially the piggy game:
http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/g3/pig.htm
what to do? as each piggy come floating by in the air bubble, burst the bubble just on top of the previous piggy so that the piggy falls on top of the head of the previous piggy and continue stacking the cute little piggies on top of each other and let them burst the cake bubble that's located in the location indicated by the small arrow. when the pigeon comes bearing the clock, let the clock falls on top of the piggy that's still floating on top of the air bubble to gain yourself more time ^^ i LOVE this game. Yoanne introduced me to it like when i was in sec 3/sec4 and i simply adore it ^^ besides the piggy game, there are a few more fun games in the page, all the graphics are nice and nice music too =) kudos to ferry halim!!
meanwhile... ONE MORE DAY TO GO HANA!!! JUST WORK HARD LIKE MAD TODAY AND TOMORROW AFTERNOON........................heaven =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
for those still going to have more sleepless nights, like lin last night, GANBATTE!! =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

after reading nata and marlin's blog, i realised that starting a trend of writing 'something' in blogs can be quite easy provided that the readers have that 'something' to talk about =D so funny... anyone else with stories related to the rain and thunderstorm? ^^
alright, 2 more days to go before assessment day!! actually it's 1 more day to go (tomorrow) and then assessment day... goodness know how little work i've done these past few days. yesterday i was practically using 70% of my time sleeping >.< but thanks to that, today i'm fully rejuvenated, and i'm confident of pulling a successful all-nighter tonight. yesterday i also went to westmall and bought loads of snacks mwahahahaha xD my parents are soo gonna go 'why are you putting on so much weight???' when i'm back home =p
it seemed that the idea of Genting trip is being received pretty well by my classmates. so far there are 3 people who surely can go: me, caiyun and merry. the rest of them are keen to go, but still must ask for parents permission, and some needs to get their visas done too. i'm doubtful that we can leave on thursday...but hopefully can, coz the next week some people would start their holiday work. ahhhhhh i'm sooooo in holiday mood already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD
err... anyone has any good manga to recommend? i'm like at lost at what else i should get from mangadownload, coz i've got everything that i wanted, and more, and now i've started to get confused coz there are soooo many mangas there! some of them were highly recommended by other users, but upon reading, i don't quite like it, like the fabulously-rated-9.9 MxO, i don't find it hilariously funny, sorry v.v i don't wanna waste my time and their bandwidth getting something that i won't read more than a few chapters, so please recommend me good mangas that are really really worthwhile to be read! (btw, sbass, no Ranma, i got it from you already =P)
just for 'guides' to know what kind of mangas that i like/don't like:
several mangas that i really like and consider to be 'really worthwhile' are: death note, black cat, bleach, yakitate japan, inuyasha, detective conan, ouran high host club, love hina, slam dunk.
mangas that i've started to read and find them pretty worthwhile are: shaman king, ranma 1/2, mahou sensei negima, air gear, flame of recca, and team medical dragon.
mangas that i've read, or haven't read but have watched a little bit of the anime, and find that they're not too bad: midori no hibi, chrno crusade, 666 satan, dn angel.
mangas/anime that...i read a few chapters and decided that i don't really like: basilisk, lilim kiss, onegai teacher, onegai twins, ultimate hentai kamen (i muts be really really bored-out-of-my-mind when i d/led this!!)
oh, i found a really good website from which you can get direct d/l for tonnes of anime and manga: anime-eden.com! they're really good! the manga collection is more complete than mangadownload, and the anime collection, goodness me, superb! the most annoying thing about the site is the ridiculously many pop-up ads that are always bugging whenever i navigate myself from page to page >.< even with my google pop-up blocker they still manage to pop 1 ad for every page, imagine how many would pop if i don't have the pop-up blocker.... lin, your powerful pop-up blocker should be able to handle the site quite well though =)

reading marlin's blog i just remembered that there's a second part to the day when i blogged about 'wrong week', so here goes.
when i came home from school, the day was freakin hot! hot and humid and panas and gerah and i hate it! i turned on my air cond straight away when i reached my room and set it to 24degrees, if not i won't be happy doing my pattern. i left home at around, err 4 i think. when i left home, it was drizzling. i knew i didn;t have my umbrella in my bag, but i was lazy to turn back into the house (i was still IN the house, y'know, just lazy to go upstairs, geez) and so i went to the bus stop. who knows when i reached orchard the drizzle had grown into full-fledged heavy rain. i managed to transfer bus with minimal amount of water retained on my clothes/head.
BUT when i reached school bus stop, oh dear, i was stranded at the bus stop. that's because my school bust stop isn't like SA which has roof connecting it to the school side gate. this is more like PJ's bust stop, completely unattached to the gate! and the rain had grown some more into thunderstorm when i reached school. oh dear... it was like 5.30pm (traffic became much slower coz of the rain) and peck leng was waiting in the 401 room. after waiting at the bus stop for about 15 minutes in vain, i braced myself and ran under the heavy downpour. slipped my slipper off, and had to ran back to get it (was so idiotic, i heard a girl in the bus stop muttering 'oh dear!' when i did) and i managed to reach school building with my head, clothes and bag wet. luckily my shirt was black so it doesn't look so bad when it's wet.
i forgot about room 401 having such a freakin cold air cond. luckily my body had warmed up a little after my run, so i didn;t shiver that bad when i was showing peck leng my work. then i went to buy some warm pisang goreng and ubi goreng from the malay stall auntie. hmmmmm, so nice, eating something warm and sweet and crunchy during thunderstorm~ the ubi goreng left much to be desired (indo's ubi is much sweeter and softer) but the pisang goreng was superb!
ran again to the bus stop coz the rain was still on. boarded 14 with my body still wet, and the air cond was blazing like nobody's business, what a miserable journey. transit in near st andrew;s cathedral, boarded 77 which was ALSO as cold as my house's freezer. some more i know that it's near rush-hour timem which means the bus would be packed, and my journey would last all the way to bukit batok, so i had to be considerate and sit inside, near the window, which is also the place where the air-cond always blow the hardest and coldest.... imagine my misery.... by the time i reached home, my clothes was dry v.v luckily til now i stil haven't fallen sick.
so to all my friends who're going to have exams and have unexpected wheather condition all around you, ALWAYS bring your umbrellas with you. and GANBATTE!! study hard and study smart for exam!!!! ^____________________________________^ jia you jia you jia you! nat, lin, koko, good luck for exam!!! hany, harry, revi, all the best for O's!! may the spirits of social studies deities visit you in your dreams and give you good lectures so even you're studying while you sleep!!! wahahahahaha (isn't that a neat idea or what?) GANBATTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and to those who're having holiday already (or going to have one soon), anthony, riska, sbass (??) visit me if you want mangas! wahahahaha xD
2:21 am
i remembered the first time since i became member that MD (mangadownload) opened PA (private access) and we could all get the rare manga within 1 day, and i tried to get, errr, what manga i can't remember, and i couldn't, coz my internet wasn't too fast and MD's server wasn't either. instead all my other queues became very slow like snail. i was so sad! PA day, which was supposed to be THE day to celebrate, coz EVERYONE can get access to PA, is the most sad day for me.
then i remembered THE day that MD opened PA for the first time after they changed server and added like double the number of servers so that more people can get their stuff, and i found out that i could get inuyasha, flame of recca, love hina and rurouni kenshin within the PA day itself. i was so happy!! so so so happy and grateful for both MD and Flashget (of course i always abide by the rule and set my queue rules to 2 d/ls per time).
and then i remembered the day when they added Ouran Koukou Host Club as one of their series, and i said to myself, "hey! i know this manga so well i should write a review for it and gain PA for life!" and i did. but it was turned down and i was disappointed. and i emailed one of the staff, asking for help to write better review, which was replied and answered for, and i went o correct my review and submitted it again. and hoo-boy, i remembered THE day when i received the email which says: "your review is ACCEPTED! expect PA soon!" THAT was the most joyous time ever, in anything related to MD. man, what a great feeling! PA for life!!! how cool is that??
and now maybe most of you are wondering why i am blabbering about all this....? because, my dear friends, MD is gaving PA AGAIN!! and this time, in celebration for hitting over 100,000 members, they're opening it for DAYS!!! so, head over there and grab as many PA manga as you want to!! remember, this PA is open for a few DAYS only, not weeks or months!
oh nat, thanks for the hard disk! (really, have i paid you or have i not paid you????) i don't know what i would do without it. now my comp is like on the net 24 hours a day, 'drinking' all those mangas from MD in preparation of my holiday in indo during which i would be deprived of fast internet access. so all my 'drinking' should start now!

Wednesday 1 November 2006
a week where things gone wrong. alright so it's still wednesday and the week is not over yet, but in these 2 schooling days (i have mondays off) things kept gone wrong with me. first it was yesterday with peck leng's work. i didn't realised that she'd be marking it, so i didn't bring my stuff. so in the end i had to go back today to show her my stuff. then today's lynn's class, which i completely didn;t know of coz usually her classes are on thursday, so i didn't bring any of my stuff either. i brought peck leng's stuff, but i didn't completed my pattern, without me realising it, and i didn't bring my final pattern either (which i didn't know called final pattern, arrghhhh) and when i went back home just now, i missed my stop and had to take another bus to retract my journey ughh!!!!
i'm tired... i'm on holiday mood already, and yet next week IS the assessment week, which means that this weekend im STILL not supposed to play, by right. but since merry told me she played maple (in aquilla), i've started to pick up maple again arrghhhh it adds to the already limited time to complete my work!!!
today we're supposed to hadn in our drawing folder to helene. i've told my friends yesterday that she wanted to MARK it, but none of them believed me, insisted that 'no, she said she's just going to see and check out work' v.v it's no wonder that majority of them came unprepared for the class this morning, and hoo-boy, do their grades suffer... my folder wasn't fantastic either, but since i was the 3rd person to be checked, and i supposedly did better than mthe first two, helene was quite pleased with me. thank goodness.
i suppose not many people remember the feeling of being praised, or encouraged, by teacher. i know i haven't been having the feeling for years before i stepped into lasalle. and only this semester that i remember again the feeling of satisfaction as your hardwork being recognised by someone. helene's encouragement for me to do more on my sketchbook, the little remark that she liked one or two of my drawings, that's all it takes for me to determine not to let her down and to do much better during assessment. thanks helene! eventhough i still find that your class is one of the toughest most stressful to follow, i still like you =)
oh, a few days ago i was in westmal when TS was having sales on their CDs and VCDs and whatnots. in one tray full of jumbled up music CD marked "one for $4, three for $10" i started rummaging, who knows i may find something nice. first, i caught this little gem The Best Of Vivaldi, which contains Vivaldi's complete version of Four Season, which i've always wanted! then after more rummaging, i found The Best Of Tchaikovsky. woo-hooo!!! that's a find! i LOVE tchaikovsky! and it has my favourite oiece too, Piano Concerto in B Minor! cool. and shortly after, i found The Best Of Strauss. now i don't know much about Strauss, but i don't think the CD would be a let down, so i just grabbed it.
so tje lesson that i get from this is: a tray of what seemed to be junk, if you dig hard enough, long enough and persevere enough, you'll find gems and treasure inside it. sometimes. haha..
okay, i'm supposed to finish my gore skirt now... arghhh and later gotta go back to school to show it to peck leng. dear me... well at least tomorrow's off day. maybe i can finish up ALL my design studio work by night. but i need to get some sleep first. as Raito says: "sleep deprivation is an enemy" (but i never hold to this belief =p)

featuring: Yoshiki
about: Yochan underwent a surgery to correct his spine, a problem that had persisted since 1995, when he finally started to feel numbness in his fingers. the surgery went fine, thank goodness. hopefully he will recover completely and it doesn't affect his piano playing. as for drums...don't forget your neck braces everytime you drums, yochan!
etc: read below xD i've made too many layouts featuring Yoshiki i don't wish to repeat myself =P

Featuring: Versailles
Background: formed in 2007 by founding member Kamijo (ex Lareine) and Hizaki (ex Sulfuric Acid), they released their debut single Revenant Choir which tells a story about a clan.
Just as like Kamijo's past works, Versailles tells a story through their symphonic metal music and extravagantly elaborate costumes inspired from antique European era.
Members: Kamijo (vocals), Hizaki (guitar), Teru (guitar), Jasmine-You (bass), Yuki (drums)
etc: Versailles beautiful music managed to win my heart totally. saddened by the loss of Jasmine-YOU in 2009, but i hope the 4 of them will still make great music from now onwards. rest in peace, Jasmine-YOU, and watch out for the guys from up there...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/arsenal_x/ekkusu2.1copy.jpg
featuring: S.K.I.N.
Background: Formed in 2007, performed first during Anime Expo at the States in May.
Members: Yoshiki (drums, piano, guitar), Gackt (vocal, piano), Sugizo (guitar, violin), Miyavi (guitar, shamisen)
etc: ekkusu phase 2.0 was lost because i didn't save it in photobucket (because it refused to upload it properly).
and so, from now i'll start my skin from phase .1 instead of .0

Featuring: Hiruma Youichi
Model's background: manga character (Eyeshield 21)
More about the model: quarterback of Deimon Devilbats, The Commander From Hell;
the backbone and the brain behind Deimon High School's American Football Club, The Deimon Devilbats.
Icons: various facial expressions of Hiruma, the maniacal, elven-faced leader of Devilbats ^^
Etc: Eyeshield 21 is a sports manga about American Football and it's one of my current favourite.
My rating for them is:
hilarity 10/10
excitement: 9/10
intellectual level: 9/10
drawing: 7/10
characterisation: 9/10

More about the model: Yoshiki in the early X Japan era in early 90's when he still has long curly locks.
Etc: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!

Featuring: Hayashi Yoshiki
Model's background: leader, drummer, pianist, main composer of legendary band X Japan (1982-1997); leader, drummer, pianist,
guitarist, composer of band Violet UK, debut coming soon. Born in Tateyama, Chiba (Japan) in 20th November 1965 and currently living in Los Angeles, California (USA).
Head company of Extasy Records, Extasy Japan and Extasy Records International (now defunct). http://myspace.com/yoshiki
More about the model: the faint background picture of Yoshiki was taken in the recent years when he's already cut his hair short and
started the habit of wearing sunglasses.
Icons: pictures taken from Yoshiki's house in LA: his front door, piano in the middle room, dining room and swimming pool.
Etc: I can write essays on Yoshiki, but let's just keep it simple and straightforward: YOSHIKI IS MY HERO AND IDOL!
